LOL, thanks for that! ...good times. After receiving my recall notice I contacted my local dealer, they had no idea what I was talking about, so I forwarded what information I had and they indicated that they would do some research and get back with me, a few hours later they contacted me and indicated that they had submitted an order for the replacement parts (fuel pump) with Honda and would get back with me when they are ready to schedule the appointment, an appointment that should take less than an hour... Not a big deal so far...
If the situation was that dangerous, there would be a "Stop Riding" message. And also according to my dealer, I have to bring it in twice. Once for them to inspect the number on the pump so they can order the part, then again for the replacement. I asked if I could show them a picture of the imprint showing my bike requires it and they said no. Probably because they want to get reimbursed by Honda twice.
I needed this! Hahaha I wish my Honda Wave also has a Max Mcallister, the Goldwing community is awesome, keep it up Max! - W/ love from the Philippines
I live in a desert. I've driven my 2018 DCT 50,000 miles so far without a hiccup. I have a 2+ week trip planned this summer. The second day I'm going through Death Valley....with other Goldwing owners. I don't think anything is going to happen. When I return I'll likely have the recall done. If it dies this summer I'll just sit for 20 minutes and try again. If it all fails horribly I'll figure it out.
Hilarious Max! My dealer said bring it on in on Wednesday and we’ll take care of it for you. Of course on Wednesday morning after my 30 degrees ride in they said “Oh. We won’t have that part in until sometime in June. Check back with us then.” Can I borrow your costume? I need to blow off some steam. 😅
@Traxxion there's enough idiots out there with this transmission issue to prevent me from buying a Goldwing. And too many posting about this. There is definitely an issue that needs to be taken seriously since it can cause a transmission lockup at speed. goldwingdocs Can't post the link, RU-vid removes my comment.
@@adamt581 There isn't one. A RU-vid Channel has put content related to a couple of bikes that have had a bolt break into a video talking about the fuel pump recall. That video is just crap. It's titled recall for all Goldwings. The fuel pump problem is on 2018 models ONLY. The bike is 6 years old. If transmissions were failing, we'd know about it. In fact, I've never even seen or heard of anyone who's fuel pump has failed, and I talk to more Goldwing owners than almost anyone on Earth.
