I have a 2006 BMW 335D with hybrid turbos, over 400 hp 800nm torque. I also have a 1987 Golf GTI 16v, completely stock. The Golf is a lot more fun to drive. I have had them both on the Nurburgring and all through the Eifel mountains. I have had over 40 cars, the 35 year old Golf GTI is the most fun and well built car I have owned.
Modern cars are much safer and handle a lot better though, take a newer gti and it would outhandle this mk2 like it's nothing, plus you don't have to worry about safety as much. Even if a motorcycle crashes into this mk2 you are dead... It wouldn't happen in a modern car.
@@supposedly6991 Maybe I'm tired of life or something but I don't think of things like that. If I hit a car the others will survive rather than being hit by one of those fat new SUVs and somehow I'm happy with it 😂 drive safe
@@PlaySelectedWorld got the same thing! learned to drive with my dad's car , the car is from 2015 , and i bought myself a VW Golf MK2 1.6 Diesel , and i do love the Golf more , just cuz it is so much more fun to drive! Oldie's rule :D
@@supposedly6991 people who appreciate older cars don't really care about safety features or the best performance, I'd choose a 70's car over anything modern.
One of the original bad arse motors from back in the day, they just don't make them like that no more, look after it mate cause that is a quality motor, does it have the big bumpers on it?
