Well done guys. May I suggest 2 improvements to take it to the next level? (1) I weigh each head first before starting any work, and weigh again after completion. That reveals what mass is lost (if any) by grinding out the blemishes, and the appropriate lead weight can then be added to the tip of the shaft by the club assembler. (2) I sand blast the face once all the polishing is complete but before the plating process. Beautiful appearance eliminating the chance of damaging the chrome finish. Cheers. John

I love how in your videos you are so thorough from the incoming inspection, documenting existing status, and literally every step and thought process you're completing along the way until the final shipped out product. Extremely well done and very educational both from a trades perspective as well as how job shop business flow works. Love it and thanks for the videos!

I would NEVER dare to use those diamonds of refurbished golf club heads just because of the beauty of them. But then again, they were made for adventure. It's almost just like our own lives. We will have to accept to get some bruzes and scratches in order to fully enjoy our lives.

Man my friend...all that work is worth alot of time and money...looks like it's more cost effective to by new ones unless......you just do it for yourself and re sell. That's a great idea beats me using sanding sticks and a scotchbrite . Nicely done

I was a trainee metal finisher back in the early 80's (got out of it quickly - too dirty for me!!)and looking at this takes me back to working in the chrome plating area of the business. I have to be honest I haven't kept up with the technology but recall that we always use to degrease in tricloroethylene after the polishing process before livening up the surface, just like to know whether this is something you did before the pre plating cleaning operation. Great job on the irons
@ChromeandCarRestoration
@ChromeandCarRestoration 2 года назад
You are not allowed to use tricloroethylene any more.

I always found guitar restoration quite satisfying to watch. As a golfer playing Mizuno MP-32s, I'll now add golf club restoration to that shortlist of most satisfying things to watch. 🙌🏻 My irons have a "satin" finish, which I guess is little more than slightly roughed-up chrome? Could you do that as well?

Yes we do that. Here is a link to a video of some before we sent them out to a customer in Canada ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wWmIAMrz6sA.html

Is any consideration being given to the grooves of these irons when restoring them? I have to imagine a build up of mass from the plating process may reduce the groove depth, especially for older irons on which the grooves may have already worn thin. Just curious, would be something to consider if these clubs are to be put into play as it could effect the performance of them. Absolutely love this long-form content, please keep it coming!
@rambler1277

I believe other club restorers provide a re-grooving service. Neither the Titleist nor the Mizunos looked like they needed it.
