Great lesson Eric. Seeing all the big pieces together without the minutiae of grip, pressure shift etc. is so useful. Would love to see the iron swing in the same format.

Well explained Eric, the advice from you guys will definitely help us golfers maximize the distance we generate off the tee. Too many golfers I see not using the swing to their advantage to get as much distance as they should. This video really helps. Cheers

Good stuff Eric. I've cut my handicap from 9.3 to 6.6 this season with help from your excellent instruction, a little range practice, and using video to help see my various faults,. Aiming for 5 next year. Many thanks for some of the best content on RU-vid.

I say this with all seriousness, with how far the ball is flying versus 20 years ago, and the modern understanding on how to generate power (like this amazing video), they're going to have to lengthen courses again. I'm 50, took nearly 20 years off with injury - left playing blades and the Titleist Professional ball. Came back last year, worked very hard at the range for a year and watch every video on this channel. Bought new modern Mizuno Hot Metal Pro Clubs, play the Titleist AVX or Bridgestone Tour X ball, and I honestly find it very hard to adapt to how far the ball flies because my old distances were so ingrained into my mind (and I've weakened the lofts on all my irons). 50 year old guys like me shouldn't be able to hit 300 yard drives - I hit many yesterday shooting 74. 20 years ago my 53 degree Gap Wedge was my 100 yard club - my 57 is now my 110 club. My 34 degree bladed 7 iron was my 155 club - now my 32 degree 7 iron is my 175 carry club. When I was 195 to 205 out from the middle of the fairway on a long Par 4, I use to look down at my 3 iron and wish I could tee it up - now I have 6,5 irons or a 4 hybrid choice, depending on the conditions, and I know I can hit them high and the ball will stop. Before on the tee, I knew no matter how hard I swung my driver, a 245-247 carry seemed to be as far I could take on and I knew there were certain bunkers that were impossible to carry - now, with a 107mph driver speed, 13 degrees launch, 2200 spin - 270 carry. The teaching information available like on this channel, and the equipment, ball and understanding of launch conditions is just amazing. I left golf an 11 handicap 18 years ago - I shot a 74 yesterday and a 72 a few days prior and I can honestly say it is because of Eric's videos that have allowed me to understand the swing and my ability to construct a bag of equipment that maximizes what I bring to the table.

Really appreciate the message and the kind words, Paul! I agree...the technology is SO MUCH better as is the information/coaching due to the knowledge that technology has given us. Either the equipment needs to be scaled back (doubtful) or the courses need to be adjusted!

For me, the movements of the hands, wrists and forearms that are developed with the Impact Snap device have awakened my mind on how to deliver the club thru the ball. Now I don't think about body movements. The body moves to support my wrist conditions. I'm hitting the ball much more solidly and have gained more distance with my irons. Can't wait to get the driver out and use some of this to hit it better too.

Tonight I worked on the Tilt for my driver. I had added tilt at address, but then lost it during the take a way. Tonight, I maintained the tilt during my take a way, then extended at impact...Wow!!! People were actually watching me hit driver, why, cuz @ 71 with a bad back, the ball was flying somewhere between to 200, and 300 yard marker, I know it went well beyond the 200 marker..maybe flew the ball around 250 or more.? Staying behind the ball and maintaining your posture is key..Thanks guys..

Great vid! From a viewers perspective, that initial movement with the lower body where there is lift in the trail heel seems early or is it just me. I thought the trail leg (heel) lifts at impact or even slightly after upperbody rotation and arms extending to finish. I would love to here from you thanks!

Really useful video. In an earlier vid, Marty said the key to driver is "swing up while delofting". This video does a great job explaining the swinging up part, but I'm still a little confused on the "delofting" idea with driver.

Excellent stuff. I also find teeing high hitting up and bowing left wrist thru impact reduces spin and helps the nice parabola shape and forward run (especially into the wind). (Club head speed c100mph). Ie less spin = more distance AND less lateral dispersion Ie contrary to what's taught re tee it low and play it low into headwind. Any thoughts on this?

A lot of decrease in spine angle (standing up) from address to top of back swing. Not necessarily bad, but must Pros keep or even increase spine angle. Paul Azinger and others come to mind, who also stood up in the back swing, but overall I think it makes it harder because somewhere an adjustment is being made. In your case, it looks like that's happening in knee flexion during the downswing.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 4 года назад
Agreed! About 2-3 years ago as I started to work more of an "up" move during the backswing to increase speed I started turning too level with it... Haven't taken the time to train that back out!

People asked all day during my Sunday skins game why I kept touching my right knee but I’ll never tell 🙌🏿. But I do have a question. Wouldn’t this work with irons since we need right side bend anyway? Just not as pronounced
