Damn thats a really good idea to unhook the speedo cable by going under, when I did mine I managed to press the tab while my dad pulled the cable from under the hood lol
@@RestoDesignsnando Ah, so if it has its own bulb then replacing the 3 normal bulbs with LEDs (as per your video) will not fix my clock bulb, is that what you're saying?
Hello i recently bought a cluster that has the same functions as yours anyhow you can give a full diagramme of the cluster please also there's a vacuum line i don't know where it goes my engine is carburator.
On the website you can choose different colors on the LEDs but is there something that makes it green on the dash? Because i want it to be red light and not green.
Dont know if @RestoDesigns will see this comment or not. But here goes I have an Mk2 with just two lights on upper part of the dash. The 3rd middle one isn't there. They are not working, I have bought new bulbs and installed but still they don't work. I was told that it might be the green foil that is broken. it did snap or tore off in one small part of the clock. I would like to ask how to fix this, if there is any way without using new foil or clocks. Cheers
hi there, first check what is missing +12 or -12 once you know that then it's easy, if -12 is missing then you can take earth from anywhere with a wire and solder that wire on to the bulb leg which makes contect onto the green foil. If you're missing +12 then again solder a wire from one of the other bulbs +12 and solder that to the bulb that isn't working. Hope that makes sense.
@@RestoDesignsnando wow, thank you for such a quick answer. I don't understand what you are talking about. I mean I understand that +12 means the electricity 1.2 ampers if I understood correctly. But I don't know how to solder, the bulbs came with their cases not just legs. Anyways, thank you but I am condemned to drive my Golf without dash lighting. Listen to the engine to change the gear and all that. Also none of the bulbs are working and I bought them new.
@@Epatzy Do you mean why isn't it green? Because the surround has a green filter which turns the white bulb green. As you can see in the video it works very well.
