The 'pushing off the right foot' is revolutionary for me. I used to just let the right foot follow my movement forward in the downswing and through, but your video showed me that the right leg and foot actively push the weight forward, greatly helping my consistency. Thanks!

You're such a good teacher. Your channel is going to blow up. Just a matter of time. I bet you'd have me fixed in 1-2 lessons. I like how you go in to the fundamentals of setup and consistency. As an ammeter and self taught golfer always struggling to break 80, a big problem I have when standing over the ball with wedge/iron/driver is I have never developed a routine setup. Nothing is worse than having no confidence in your shot because you're lost from the start. For me personally I'm talking my driver and 3w. Thanks for the vids. Keep it up!

Thanks Rob, appreciate the comment! I see Adam spend most his time on the setup and takeaway with his students as it initiates the whole swing and where most faults originate. It's one of Adam's strengths. I'm glad the vids are helping, thanks for the support! - Gabe

I watch a lot of you tube golf (mostly for entertainment) I just have to say you are top notch. I never plug another instructor on someone else's channel but, if I could........ Great work. I also believe Hogan did that hip bump a lot like you teach it.

So straight forward, so simple for me having trouble to bring it to the course but I won’t give up until I master the setup

That’s for the great content. The explanation of the brace and post was missing from what I learned from you so far. I was hitting chunky, thin, and high shots until I added the weight transfer. Good stuff.

So good! I'm the guy who spins and tries to create the position rather than presetting the position at setup!

Great work! Most amateurs and beginners would benefit greatly by swinging in a mirror to see weight transfers. Most of the golfers I caddied for have no understanding of weight balance in setup.

Bump the hip? What if we could make lataleral motion during down swing? Don't you think it would be the same?
@michaelgonzalez2053

Question: does the “hip bump” take care of the weight transfer? I see a lot of instructors saying that weight should be transferred to left side and then hips fire. Thank you.

Do you have a video explaining the hip bump? If not, could you please explain in detail exactly how to get into that position? Thank you! Love your content!

There should be plenty on this channel you just have to search a little. Also please be sure to follow our Instagram account @porzakgolf which has tips daily as well! In fact we just had a story about the hip bump yesterday!

Hi porzak, i was just wondering does offset increases the chance of hook, and how do you address the ball with clubs that have more offset ?

Is the "hip bump" he same as "Side Tilt at set up? I was taught to put a club running thru the center of my chest, then tilt to the right and when when the bottom of the club hit my left inner thigh, then that's the correct side tilt. Is that the same as the hip bump? Thanks in advance, love your channel.
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf 2 года назад
Similar but different. It's a small difference. Porzak's way changes the relationship of the lower body. The hips are slightly off center as to build an anchor point to turn around. The side tilt way, the lower body stays centered but the upper body tilts. They are similar but if you demonstrate the two in the mirror. You will see the slight difference. - Gabe

The way I feel this is Newtons law Equal amd opposite Hip goes a little left which cause a little shoulder tilt Is that the right feel?

I feel like when I hip bump forward, I’m going to send the ball way right. Then I feel like I have to flip to compensate.
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf Год назад
A lot of people unknowingly open their hips our shoulders in the hip bump, be sure everything is square by pulling the trail hip and trail shoulder behind you a bit to square everything up!
@bgzales709
@bgzales709 Год назад
Hi Adam. You don’t like either foot flared out at all? Would flaring out the left a hair affect for the negative? Seems like if perfectly square I get some tension when I finish the swing. How do you roll ur weight to the outside of that left ankle.

Does the hip bump move the the hip towards target?..also does the bump straighten the forward knee a little or a lot?
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf Год назад
Yes and the lead knee may feel a little taller knee to hip!
@canefan17
@canefan17 2 года назад
So with wedges there’s not really a hip bump because we don’t want to tilt away (instead we want to preset impact sort of)?
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf 2 года назад
There is a hip bump but because the stance is more narrow everything looks straight up and down. You don’t necessarily need to be that much more behind on a lofted club.

I used to take lessons from a guy who worked with several PGA Tour players. He told me, "There's no substitute for 'educated' hands".

Nope, that's why tiger can still play pro golf (albeit not at the level he once did), but he can still go out and make cuts against the elite of the elite even tho his body has fallen apart...he can't swung with his body like he used to but his hands are so damn good in doesn't matter, any compensation in his swing he's had to make to prevent injury he can easily make up for it with his golf genius hands
