I don’t have time to watch right now. But something to look forward to tonight before bed. But just had to jump on here to give Jerry a like ASAP. I always like before I watch because Jerry Skinner has never been a disappointment!!! Thanks Jerry
Jerry you are simply the best. I have never failed to be entertained and educated by your incredibly interesting and carefully made videos. Such great research, such detail, and such heart. My hat is off to you.
Thank you for reminding us. Persons of extraordinary talent cast into rolls of legend are actually mortal humans. It is the same in all of life. We should humble ourselves and prepare for our demise by living each day as if it our last.
Don Turnupseed/Turnupseed Electric never spoke of the accident but he did to my brother. Which he in turned shared with me. Since it was in confidence back in the 80s, we've never been asked what he said and it's OK if it stays that way. Jerry, while I love your story telling, well, sometimes is doesn't need telling at least all of it. Thank you for bringing this back to the front.
@@Gweidemann No. He actually replied to a comment on this video a few hours ago (and made it clear that it was him and not just someone who took over running the channel).
I saw his reflection in one of his videos.he doesn't look as old as he sounds.he's got that old timer voice though that I love.he might be older but as long as he's healthy I'm willing to bet he's still got quite a few miles to go.Jerry Skinner is the shit🤘
Another good vid Jerry. I believe that if Heath Ledger had lived he would have become the greatest actor of his generation. But Heath was already having sleep problems and some depression issues because of it before he even signed on to play the Joker. Terrible loss for his family and the rest of us. Thanks again for this one...
JS, I love Hollywood history! Thank you! Ever since learning about the Black Dahlia disemboweling as a young student of Police Science, Hollywood graft and the unsolved mysteries have intrigued me. Thank you, again!
Hi Jerry, I love and look forward to each of your videos. After watching this I couldn't help but remembering the sad death and unfinished film of Jean Harlow. What they did to finish her film "Saratoga" was sad and bordered on being a disgrace.
Awesome documentary Jerry, what a great idea. I will watch and digest this one again. They were all my favorites, Keep em coming Jerry,, and thank you my friend. Augie and Jill Blase, winter Springs , Florida. 🤠
I am very glad to hear your your voice again. Love 💗 your time and effort to create your videos. You would be wonder at doing stories AMSR. Reading stories that help put people that have trouble falling asleep. Respectively debra
@Gregory Lloyd.....you are spot on ,Sir ...... I was thinking about my Father tonight , long gone ,but not forgotten .....and not sleeping ...logged on to Jerry .... I loved your comment . Thank you and thank you Jerry . Very comforting .
Sometimes quitting drinking abruptly can bring on a heart attack. I wonder if this happened to Oliver Read. He was one of my favourites even after his Bill Sykes role!
ITS AMAZING HOW THIS COUNTRY "IDOLIZES " VARIOUS PEOPLE. ESPECIALLY THE HOLLYWOOD BUNCH . YET , WILL WE EVER SEE SUCH ATTENTION TO OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS AND NEW TESTAMENT APOSTLES ???
I saw Oliver Reed's picture and thought idk man I think it might have been over lol kidding but seriously Reed's my favorite hellraiser and he lived one hell of a life though it may have cut short it wasmt to short for such a long and eventful life. Thank you jerry for the wonderful take on these men amongst men. Good to always see you post a new video, let's me know you are still alright. Please give us a couple of community post every so often to let us know how you are and how your family is. Tha k you herry would love to see your face in a video as well. More tips for us youngins❤
Heath ledger said how the joker role caused his mental issues and lack of sleep. Robert Diniro warned him not to go "method" for the role but didnt listen. It has to do with "channeling" evil spirits when playing a villain. Sounds like dancing with the devil is dangerous. Even Denzal W. admited to doing it as well and its dangers. Sad
The Oliver Reed segment reminds me of what happened with Brandon Lee in "The Crow." In both cases, they had to digitally put the deceased actor's face on another actor's body.
You could politely ask Jerry if you can use the videos framework with your own spin on it, perhaps picking a different group, subgenre, actors, lady counterparts support roles or directors. Maybe stunt guys body doubles or less well known behind the scenes guys. I certainly would be interested in anyone behind the scenes. Anything that interests you or perhaps collaboration on a part two to this video The list goes on. You would have to get Jerry's approval but he seems a fantastic person that would recognise that the videos would be drastically different and enjoyed by all, even with the same layout, template or framework. It eludes me at the moment but who was the actor(may have been a stage actor) Who was shot with a pistol at close range using blanks, however, no firearms consultant was present and I guess nobody on set was aware that a blank cartridge at close range, let alone pressed up against a person is very very capable of blowing a hole clean through your chest. I think he was the less famous brother to a well known actor. The shooter or perhaps the brother of the deceased would never act again It lead to firearms and perhaps other significant reform throughout Hollywood and I believe lead to the establishing a union or some sort of rights regarding actor safety that still exists today to my knowledge. Is it possibly the screen actors guild? NB. The last paragraph likely contains considerable misinformation that I'm simply recalling from long ago. I will edit, correct and remove information as I remember it or am corrected Corrections will be left here:
How horrible for Vic and those children. Their parents must have been beyond themselves with grief. Next time I watch Giant, I'll watch more closely at the end scene. Good movie.
Great video as always Jerry. Love watching your channel. I have always wondered how famous James Dean would have become had he not passed away in that car crash.
I love the way you bring so much detail to your documentarys, Jerry. You include so much extra information not generally known. I would ask you this though : why did you say James Dean only saw the film 'East of Eden' before he died ? What about ' Rebel Without a Cause' in 1956 ? This was his breakthrough role on the screen. Thank you.🙋🇬🇧
Nice documentary Jerry. If you have a follow-up someday maybe mention Bruce Lee. He passed before the opening of Enter the Dragon, and Game of Death was still in production.
Thank you so much for posting this documentary. I’m a little confused however. I’ve been told Mr. Skinner has passed. I pray this is misinformation. Can you clarify for me? Thank you.
@6:59 "On May 2nd, 1991, 61-year old british actor, Robert Oliver Reed..." Sorry to correct you, Jerry , but I think you've probably misquoted. Oliver Reed died on May 2, 1999 and not "1991"
Oliver Reed died in May 2nd of 1999 not 1991... " You meet a better class of people in Pubs." - Oliver Reed The *epitaph* on his *gravestone* reads: "I made the air move".
John Landis should have been sent to prison for criminal negligence leading to death and felony child abuse!! Ridiculous he got off. Just goes to show how UNJUST the courts are when your famous and have money.
I have an older half-brother, born in '57, his first and middle name are "James Marlon". I'll let y'all guess who my late dad, born in '36, named him after. I guess I'm a product of my old man, my oldest boy's name is "Clint". I'm sure I don't need to pontificate. 😂😂😂
1:20 "blinded by the sun" is not an argument nor a legal defense. If a driver can't see at one moment, gets momentarily blind, the right course of action is not to cross or merge any lanes... but this Ford 1950 driver did, he is guilty of reckless driving and perhaps manslaughter But those were primitive times... today doing the same while distracted by smartphone texting gets you free, and the best option for governess of California 🤦♀️
