I feel like I watched the big bang happen so many times in seconds, and the recreation over and over, that I ended up in some god realm. Actually I'm writing a story about this as I type this!
This sounds better than v3. Probably bc it actually says something when put together and that Fate of the Stars was one of Tally Hall's last ever songs.
Man I fucking love this. The more I look into the good and evil album the more I appreciate it not just from a musical standpoint, but from the lesson hidden within it, that humanity is a sum of all its parts, the good & the evil. we live on the &; in the place that separates these seemingly opposite worlds and ideas, we are capable of both. and in a beautifully poetic way, even tally hall seems to be both happy and sad about this fact, leading to a bittersweet trio of songs that ponder, question, & accept out contradictory existence. and how just maybe, if we learn to embrace the paradox we might become greater than the sum of our parts, greater than good or evil, we will be the *rulers of everything*.
It is incredible, as my own personal journey continues I find even more meaning to the words of this song, it’s almost as if music attains deeper, and deeper depths the closer we come to understanding ourselves, & the world around us. And the more we truly accept and embrace it, reguardless of it’s faults, or how they make us feel. while paradoxically and confusingly still embracing our instinctual rejection and fear of the things we cannot truly control, change, or understand. Because that too, is a part of life. and to deny my own fear and confusion at my own words would be disappointing, after coming so far and getting so close to the “truth”. even my future shame at these cryptic words (that I shall try to avoid thinking about once I post this reply… to my own comment… sheesh) should be embraced, because in life the only thing I can ever be is what I am, and by being myself without any concern for how the outside world shall see my internal dialogue, I hope to find peace with being a piece of a greater whole. which I am never meant to know or understand, but just be a part of, and enjoy :)
@potato boy I mean, there is a philosophical theory that you are in essence everyone who has ever lived, ever will live, and is living right now. This life hasn't treated me the best, but I know it's certainly better than my others assuming that theory is true.
@@BlueBerry20071to be fair there are philosophical theories about just about everything, also I know I started the reply with to be fair but I am not trying to deny that I just can’t think of a way to Segway into the comment otherwise.
I discovered Tally Hall by coincidence in late 2021, and what a wonderful rabbit hole this is. And may I add, here you have compiled the songs that grab me the most.
I'm thinking of a version of this where the entire cult is made up of robots and the lady in "a lady" is both the creator of the cult leader and "the &" and the last change would be that the cult is also attempting a robotic uprising alongside worshipping "the &"
Dude... now I'm thinking of other scenarios and other plots in the same universe with alien bugs and lizard people with overarching themes and akdkdmrijtifjfimdidkdmdj THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS COMMENT

Oh gosh... I remember looking at this like a year ago, back when I couldn't even tell Miracle Musical and Tally Hall apart, and this video made me think that these three songs were the whole album, lol.
To be fair, these songs would probably work well as one song, considering they have their own narrative, they clearly compliment eachother nicely, and even their titles match up. I know you've probably already found this out. This reply is just in case you didn't
I mean, I don't think they chose to, since even if they did they wouldn't be getting the money from it since all three songs are licensed and copywritten.
I realise this video is 3 years old but was there something confirming that these three songs were linked? Like, 'A Lady' and '&' obviously have the same melody but where does Fate of the Stars come in? I mean, it's a nice mixture either way, I actually like the structure of A Lady/&/Fate of the Stars since it's like the song is going from calm to wild and back to calm with the guitar creating kind of a bookend, but where did it come from exactly?
the end of Fate of the Stars has the same melody as A Lady and & ("give & take & sleep & wake & pray for day and night to come..."), so the break between the end of & and Fate of the Stars would be like a bridge in the 11-minute song
Honestly, rocking chair, that is what fate of the stars sounds like, It keeps it's pace the exact the same, but the music trys to fight it, but you cant kill it unless you kill the music.
I think that would have worked if & was much later in the album but with where & is I think having Lady about halfway through the album away works better than having them so close to each other
I'm grateful I know their music since 2018. For me, this is one of the best discoverings I've ever made on the Internet, if not the best. It's truly sad that I never got to see Tally Hall irl, as each one found their own way on 2011, but for me, they're still one of the most goated music groups on history; my favorite one
Just out of curiosity, why place them in this specific order? To me, A Lady always felt like the perfect little intermission in the middle of the album
I'm sorry, but it's still the wrong order. "A Lady" has the same melody throughout. "&" has that melody only in the first half. After 3:30, it switches. Meanwhile, during "Fate of the Stars," it doesn't start the "A Lady" melody until 9:52. So the proper order would be [Fate Of The Stars / A Lady / &] and it would keep the melody together at the centre of the song.
You're entitled to your opinion. I listened to all possible iterations several times and this was the one I found most satisfying, with a sustained intro and outro. & ends very abruptly and isn't a great finale to an 11-minute journey. Feel free to make your own video and see which people prefer!
My guess it that & is in the middle of fate of the star with that weird drop in the middle and A lady in red was only a sort of trailer for the story of both of these songs
Could somebody explain how Fate of The Stars link up with the other two songs..? It feels like a standalone thing, but then again I'm not much of a literacy/story person lol
