Did Mabel Stan and dipper team up with bill or is it a dream created by bill to mock ford

I couldn't help but find it cute when Dipper and Mabel joined hands when berating Ford. As if to say, "we're never ending up like you guys. Nothing's going to separate us!"

"Thank god they rescued you." Okay, that line hits pretty hard. Stan spent 30 years trying to save Ford, expecting gratitude. But after everything that happened after the portal was opened, it just hits so hard.

Dipper realizing half way through the song that Ford isn't the type of person he wants to be like and joining Stan and Mabel made me smile. Edit: After reading the video description I must say I agree that we need more passive aggressive Stan.

Angry, remonstrative Mabel, the way Dipper just sounds so BETRAYED, sassy Stan, the absolutely INCREDIBLE way Ford reacts when he realizes this isn't real and tries to figure it out, and of course the "so you got what you always wanted" zoom on the pyramid at the end is just AMAZING, thank you so much for this masterpiece.

i love this song so much - it's one that's always stood out to me on the deh soundtrack, and it gets covered a LOT in animatics, but i never even considered how well it fits for gravity falls. and oh wow, it really does. to me, this song represents the main character abandoning the people he's closest to for a misguided reason. here, it's completely changed for the context so it's more like bill is exaggerating ford's existing guilt, and when the handcuffs clamp around his wrists, it's clear that this prison is of ford's invention and he's just being shackled to it, with the ones he loves being used as ammunition. i LOVE how dipper's shown standing next to ford at the beginning, almost like he doesn't want to believe he's done anything wrong and when stan grabs them both by the shoulders, it's like they're in the same situation. he feels just as responsible but when stan comes back for a second time and dipper looks like he's ready to take the abuse, he's surprised to find stan directing all of it at ford. when you brought in the book, wow! it all clicked. stan has always thought ford values his research over him. and sometimes, he was shown to be right. stan can never be enough for ford, and it's incredible how you show that disappointment here. he keeps walking back to ford and leaving angrier and more helpless than before, like he doesn't want to give up. he doesn't want to lose ford even if that means constantly arguing with him. and mabel's characterization is so wonderful too. the only reason she would ever start tearing into someone is if they've truly hurt her or someone close to her. so dipper finally realizes he was wrong, and that's when he switches. and my absolute favorite part, when ford tries to "erase" the ink he wrote decades ago because he knows now that he does have some people he can trust, but it's too late to take back all the hurt he's caused them. i could probably go on and on about all the details i noticed, but this is already really long and all i'm basically trying to say is: i love this animatic a lot lol

When it switches to Mabel I found the lines so perfect for the character, and the single frame when dipper starts talking and Stanford gets surprised is just perfect 👌. This song fits these characters so much and the animation makes it just perfectly fabulous. I wish I could do that one day that Also I realized that dipper thought Stanley was talking to him and then realized Stanley meant Stanford. I imagine this taking place almost in-between Mabel releasing bill and Offering the apprenticeship.

dude this is INCREDIBLE… I’ve always wanted to see Mabel and Dipper allowed to be mad at Ford, for him to confront what he did through a lens of progress. Your art is amazing and this animatic is so smart and beautiful.

the fact that when the line "the boat is about to sink" plays, there's a photo of the stan o' war in the book makes me want to cry

I'm sorry if commenting twice is annoying but I just rewatched this masterpiece and like, while the whole thing blew me away, the scene where it suddenly shows the pure dread on Ford’s face when Dipper suddenly joins in is just.... perfection, breathtaking.

I literally cannot express the pure joy and serotonin watching this gave me. I could keyboard smash, I could write a big paragraph, I just don't know what to do or say. This was so freaking good and made me so damn happy. Great work! Top tier work!

I started SOBBING when Ford hit the floor when he said “JUST LET ME OUT” Ford is my favourite character (so is Dipper and Bill) but I feel so bad for Ford and the others. Stan spent 30 years trying to get Ford back, Dipper was obsessed with the journals and figuring out who the Author was, Mabel never got to spend much time with Ford so she would obviously take Stan’s side. But when Ford was singing Evan’s part that’s when it hit me :(

This is P E R F E C T. The song matches so well with the story. The animator is excellent at conveying emotion. It anchors to the timeline of the show at the end. Someone needed to yell at Ford :) There is so much symbolism packed in, it holds up for multiple views. I could go on and on but I already said the main point at the top there. Always love a good animatic and PlayersUnited never disappoints :)

OK, sorry for leaving multiple comments but- THE VOICES ARE SO PERFECT!!!!!!!! Stan is a bit raspy, he's angry but also sarcastic, Mabel is yelling at Ford because he's hurt Stan, Ford sounds a little younger than Stan (cause he's been taking better care of himself) and panicked cause he doesn't know how to fix it, and Dipper sounds like he's finally realized how much Ford has put everyone he loves through and is DONE.

AAh okay okay. So. This is a really interesting interpretation of this song. There's an AMV of this song that involves Stan, Fiddleford, and Ford that I really love, so it was really cool to see you take the song in a slightly-similar (because in both videos they're mad at Ford) but also really different direction (because you included Dipper and Mabel) in a way only really possible by making an animatic. Couple other things I wanted to mention: 1:43 I know in this video the kids probably (??) don't know about Ford telling Stan he was going to kick him out of the house*, so Dipper's probably just referring to... Ford ignoring Stan? Letting him get kicked out the first time? Idk. Anyway, if Dipper doesn't know about that conversation, it makes the "crush him" part with the hat kinda ironic (idk if that's the right word) because it fits even better than he thinks it does, because Ford wasn't just going to keep ignoring Stan, he was going to make him homeless again. (Also, if the kids really don't know about that conversation and are this ticked off at Ford right now, just imagine if they DID find out about it...) 2:37 I like how they form a triangle here - actually, they kinda form Bill, with Ford as his eye. Nice. *Yeah I know not everyone interprets what Ford said that way, but I lean towards that personally cuz of the "you can stay here for the summer" part. *ETA* : I just rewatched this again and realized Stan taking off his fez and rolling it towards Ford is a great allusion to Ford telling him he has to give up the Mystery Shack (and therefore his identity as Mr. Mystery)!! Idk if that was intended or not but aaaah Also, I forgot to say that I having this be Ford being berated while in the statue goes nicely with the Wolf in Sheep's Clothing video where Stan's being berated in some of his memories that are getting erased.

I get so excited everytime I see you upload something Gravity Falls related! (Your other stuff is great too, I just don't usually know the fandoms, lol.) And this song fits perfectly with the context! I'm not sure if it was intended, but I thought that Stanley was yelling at Ford and Dipper at first (because of the apprenticeship-) and then Dipper kinda realized that Stanley and Mabel were right, and switched sides. I could be very wrong about that, but as always, amazing work! Your an inspiration to those who are aspiring to do animatics/animate, such as myself.👍 (I know my comments are always super long, sorry lol.)

I love Ford as a character, but something like this was sorely needed in canon in my eyes, because he’s just… a really selfish person, who doesn’t recognize anyone else’s perspective until after it’s already too late, and I think this song fits him so well it’s scary. Like, I don’t say that he’s selfish and kind of shitty as an insult, I say it as a compliment to the writing of the show, he’s very realistically written, and I appreciate others noticing that as I did. He needs to work on himself, I think, and in some ways I wish the show had gone more into that so I wasn’t left with such ‘nooo, Stan, don’t forgive him, he has to work for that!’ feelings, lol. Although, since Stan deserves anything he wants, and he wants Ford, I guess it works out ok in the end.

Okay so Ford's definitely my favorite character, I love him, BUT this definitely was an intervention that was needed imo. Maybe not towards the end of the season, but maybe right after he came back or during or right after A Tale of Two Stans. Love him but he made some mistakes😭

And then he’s realizes stans mad at Ford? Chefs kiss. 1:05 one of my favorite thinks abt this channel is (and I’m sorry that I’m probably not using the correct word) movement and speech lines!! How we know how characters are moving or talking!! They’re always just soooo perfect, and this is one example!! 1:08 I loooooove the camera change thing syncing up to the “you”s 1:12 “snap!” Another perfect movement example! 1:14 I! Love! This! Nothing makes me happier than seeing lines from the song actually have an in-canon meaning, so this is just sooooo gooood. 2:23 so right here I’m noticing that when Dipper, Mabel, and Stan stand together as a United front, theyre colors look warm and happy and inviting. But Ford’s look cold and distant, and he’s isolated from them. Love it!! 2:32-2:36 okay so this is one of the main reasons why I wanted to make this. This. This right here. What followed after this is amazing, so I’ll talk about it separately, but I love this moment. The artwork is great and those lines perfectly shows us the emotion we should be getting from his yelling. Ford looks like he’s in physical pain. We can obviously tell this. The artwork itself here is amazing, but I think it’s really elevated because of the timing. Let me explain cause that probably sounded super vague. The first time I watched this animatic, I didn’t like this moment, if I’m being honest. I thought that it dragged in for too long, BUT I’ve since changed my mind. After this, we get a lot of quick, explosive, important shots. It’s really fast and overwhelming, which is good because it lets us see how ford’s feeling. Because this moment takes time, we aren’t overwhelmed in a bad way once things get crazy. It’s like we’re bracing for impact, it’s the calm before the storm. Plus, it matches with Evan/Ben Platt’s yell, which is a great bonus. 2:37 triangles triangles triangles triangles don’t trust triangles love this shot 2:39-2:41 this is, by far, my favorite moment in this video. The cipher wheel signs (all of a sudden I’m blanking on their canon name😭 zodiacs?)? Superb. The way the “camera” is sort of zooming out and jostling (yeah I have no idea what the technique is called)? F***ing amazing. This is where the color difference shines! This is where ford’s pain is apparent! This is where that crazed look in stan’s eyes makes the whole scene! Dipper still can’t look at ford, great continuity btw. Mabel is just flat out pissed, pretty much how she’s been this whole time. Stan is Mad, capital M-mad. It’s just soooo gooooooood. And right after this, things go off. The. Rails. And now, let us step back and time and remember what I thought the first time I watched this animatic: 2:41-2:44 “oh cool shot, very Tangled the series Nothing left to lose! Hey wait what’s that yellow thing-“ 2:45 “clamp”??? Oh sh- 2:49 “YELLOW EYES?????? BLOOD??” 2:52 “no…” 2:56 “HOLY F***!!” Wait, this is written out, I can swear for real!! **inhale** SON OF A- Okay but for reals, like is absolutely perfect. Don’t change a thing. The drawings themselves are amazing, the glitchy affect only adds to the sheer “oh f***” energy, and combined with the chorusing voices this moment is unparalleled. I really can’t explain how this moment makes me feel. It’s really similar to how I felt when bill showed up at Weirdmageddon 3, the whole “OH NO ITS BILL! that’s what you guys were thinking, right?” Or however it go’s. It’s just sheer panic, fear. I love it. It’s absolutely amazing, it’s the reason why I love this animatic so much (that and what I said up there about the cipher wheel moment and the Ford screaming moment). 2:59 yep. He got what he wanted. To examine gravity fall’s weirdness. To find a place where weirdos like him fit in. Congrats, Ford. So I think I should mention that I paused halfway through this for like a week, so I might have repeated some stuff. Good! This animatic is so good that it deserves to be talked about at length!! One more thing before I’m done, thank you for all the time and effort you’ve obviously put in your animatics. I really appreciate it, and I know everyone who supports this channel does too. But please don’t push yourself. Take breaks if you’re feeling overwhelmed. We aren’t expecting you do deliver content every day, and while we will greatly appreciate, your mental health is much more important. I know what it’s like to dread a passion project. Burnout sucks, so take breaks and breathers when needed so it hopefully never hits. LOVE YA, BYE!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing lines from the song actually have an in-canon meaning, so this is just sooooo gooood. 2:23 so right here I’m noticing that when Dipper, Mabel, and Stan stand together as a United front, theyre colors look warm and happy and inviting. But Ford’s look cold and distant, and he’s isolated from them. Love it!! 2:32-2:36 okay so this is one of the main reasons why I wanted to make this. This. This right here. What followed after this is amazing, so I’ll talk about it separately, but I love this moment. The artwork is great and those lines perfectly shows us the emotion we should be getting from his yelling. Ford looks like he’s in physical pain. We can obviously tell this. The artwork itself here is amazing, but I think it’s really elevated because of the timing. Let me explain cause that probably sounded super vague. The first time I watched this animatic, I didn’t like this moment, if I’m being honest. I thought that it dragged in for too long, BUT I’ve since changed my mind. After this, we get a lot of quick, explosive, important shots. It’s really fast and overwhelming, which is good because it lets us see how ford’s feeling. Because this moment takes time, we aren’t overwhelmed in a bad way once things get crazy. It’s like we’re bracing for impact, it’s the calm before the storm. Plus, it matches with Evan/Ben Platt’s yell, which is a great bonus. 2:37 triangles triangles triangles triangles don’t trust triangles love this shot 2:39-2:41 this is, by far, my favorite moment in this video. The cipher wheel signs (all of a sudden I’m blanking on their canon name😭 zodiacs?)? Superb. The way the “camera” is sort of zooming out and jostling (yeah I have no idea what the technique is called)? F***ing amazing. This is where the color difference shines! This is where ford’s pain is apparent! This is where that crazed look in stan’s eyes makes the whole scene! Dipper still can’t look at ford, great continuity btw. Mabel is just flat out pissed, pretty much how she’s been this whole time. Stan is Mad, capital M-mad. It’s just soooo gooooooood. And right after this, things go off. The. Rails. And now, let us step back and time and remember what I thought the first time I watched this animatic: 2:41-2:44 “oh cool shot, very Tangled the series Nothing left to lose! Hey wait what’s that yellow thing-“ 2:45 “clamp”??? Oh sh- 2:49 “YELLOW EYES?????? BLOOD??” 2:52 “no…” 2:56 “HOLY F***!!” Wait, this is written out, I can swear for real!! **inhale** SON OF A- Okay but for reals, like is absolutely perfect. Don’t change a thing. The drawings themselves are amazing, the glitchy affect only adds to the sheer “oh f***” energy, and combined with the chorusing voices this moment is unparalleled. I really can’t explain how this moment makes me feel. It’s really similar to how I felt when bill showed up at Weirdmageddon 3, the whole “OH NO ITS BILL! that’s what you guys were thinking, right?” Or however it go’s. It’s just sheer panic, fear. I love it. It’s absolutely amazing, it’s the reason why I love this animatic so much (that and what I said up there about the cipher wheel moment and the Ford screaming moment). 2:59 yep. He got what he wanted. To examine gravity fall’s weirdness. To find a place where weirdos like him fit in. Congrats, Ford. So I think I should mention that I paused halfway through this for like a week, so I might have repeated some stuff. Good! This animatic is so good that it deserves to be talked about at length!! One more thing before I’m done, thank you for all the time and effort you’ve obviously put in your animatics. I really appreciate it, and I know everyone who supports this channel does too. But please don’t push yourself. Take breaks if you’re feeling overwhelmed. We aren’t expecting you do deliver content every day, and while we will greatly appreciate, your mental health is much more important. I know what it’s like to dread a passion project.
