Good Samaritans get out of their cars to stop vehicle from drifting into busy Florida intersection

Several good Samaritans in Florida jumped into action to help a driver suffering from a medical emergency.
It happened May 5 when a vehicle started drifting into a busy intersection in Boynton Beach.
Video released by police on Wednesday showed one motorist getting out of her car and chasing after the drifting vehicle.
The motorist turned out to be a co-worker of the driver. She had seen the driver slumped over behind the steering wheel.
"As her car slowly entered the intersection at Congress Avenue, her co-worker raced across the street waving her arms to get the attention of other motorists," the Boynton Beach Police Department said.
Then a group of strangers sprang into action and joined her. Driver after driver jumped out of their vehicles to stop the car.

UPDATES: it was a lady who was going to have a medical procedure done the following day and apparently her medication mixed with fasting for the procedure caused her to convulse and eventually faint. Her coworker was driving near her (she is the first woman to try to help her in the video) bc she noticed something was wrong. Nice to see everyone come together and not just drive off😭 I would be so grateful if this was my mom or grandma. Treat everyone kindly like they’re family.

The good Samaritans would have been run over if the driver pushed the accelerator pedal while waking up. Never ever do that. It would have rolled to the stop, or some other driver could have gotten in front. Simple solutions while maintaining Safety.

I think the same result happens, but it would have taken longer. The driver’s car was moving very slowly. Woulda hit a car or something at low speed.

Especially with intersections like those, what happened could have caused a terrible pile up. And everyone who got out of their car to save a stranger, risked their lives doing so. You leave your vehicle in the middle of an intersection like that, it's like asking to be run over.

Could also have caused a pile up, because it’s the same result, if anything these people made it quicker because they moved the vehicle out of the way as they wait for police, etc… use your critical thinking before being so negative

Heartwarming ❤️ I hope the lady is okay!! My coworker and I were driving from Chi to NY the week before Christmas. As soon as we crossed the toll into Indiana a car darted in front of us and hit the barrier. I stopped immediately so we could help the driver. One other car stopped too. We were able to safely get the lady out of the car, cover her in blankets and wait with her until the ambulance came ❤️ I couldn’t imagine seeing someone needing help and not doing anything about it.

Tip- Car headrests are designed to be easily removed & smash windows in the event of an emergency. The female driver had convulsions. She had been fasting for a medical procedure the following day when her usual medications caused her to convulse into a coma. She didn't wake up again until spending a night in the hospital. The local police department was able to contact some of the Good Sam's. It'll coordinate a get-together once the woman is stable and a mutual date has been agreed upon.

Wow what good citizens! I wonder what happened, heart attack or some other medical issue? The person driving clearly wasn't alert or they would have unlocked the doors so I doubt it was a car malfunction.

She had a reaction to blood pressure medication and fasting.She passed out.She is fine now

Bless the hearts of those Fabulous 7 and the 1 so concerned elderly female who jumped right into action! This is what we would like to see in the Good American Spirit where people helping people. They don't know but they had earned Good Karma for the rest of their lives. Why do you have to be the bad in America? Be the Good and be proud of yourself in our country. Nobody made them get out of their cars, it is the Good in them!
