I made this video after watching Louis Rossmann's video where he talked about Ian Davis where he explains that Autodesk is forcing him to move his Lifetime license (forever) to a subscription model.

This summer I received a call from Autodesk, a salesman, asking about the status of my Autodesk and Arnold license (which of course he already knew about). My license, up to the time of the recording of the courses, has always been the educational license that they very kindly updated me from Solid Angle. Autodesk's policies have changed this year and obviously affect Arnold's as well.
I listened to the conditions and now it is no longer possible to use the educational license. The option they gave me was, only, to buy the annual subscription to the Autodesk 3D packages which include Maya, 3ds max and the Arnold licenses. I asked the price and of course it seemed a bit expensive to be now only recording courses. The subscription did not go below 3.700€.
Hearing that price, but above all, checking that they did not give flexibility to someone who has been using their software for years, both with commercial license and now the educational one, made me take another decision that just needed a little push.
