I grew up going to WDW every year from 86-2019. Sadly, very little remains from my childhood & favorite spots: Magic Castle, Shell World, Gator Inn, tons of the Putt Putt places, All except for Old Town, The Big Orange, The off-property themed souvenir places like The Big Wizard. God how I I miss those days. My parents are too sick for travel now and I took them on their last trip in 2016 & they pointed out all the places that were long gone. 😢 Shell World was the hardest hitting one.
The Florida Project movie was not what I expected when I first viewed when released in 2017, but I have rewatched several times since. Really depicts that area along 192.
@@TheDailyWoo It is not accurate at all and you are just saying what you saw in the movie. My brother died at that hotel. It was nothing but a drug den shooting gallery. There were no sad poor people living there like the fake movie says. It was all druggies waiting to die just like my brother. I'm glad this is being torn down. People like you wax poetic about it based on a movie when famalies like mine were devastated by the pain it gave the area.
@@BrandonH619 yes, we literally live just a few miles down from where it was filmed. defintely remember a guy filming something with a few people at the magic castle back in 2017. did not know it was the director until after the film came out
In April I'll be staying in knights inn on 192 for a week. it's a family tradition for us but this year I bought a car so we didn't go but I love Kissimmee and hwy 192 I'd love to meet you if your in town love the video
I stayed at the Magic Castle many times while I was in college in the early 2000s since it was $29. I could barely afford to travel and it made it a lot more doable since they also provided breakfast. I'll miss the theming but I'm glad the building wasn't torn down. Heavy nostalgia for me with this one.
I love the Florida project. As someone who loves driving through 192 and seeing all the sketchy tourist traps and tacky attractions, it gives me that same nostalgic feeling comfort I had back in my childhood when I used to live near Orlando. I’m hoping other locations near 192 arent taken down or anything,, and instead just modified or refurbished a bit. Great video Adam!
Adam what’s great is that we can always go back to your prior vlogs and see points of interest in their glory! Video for Posterity! Remember my pic with Rickey Henderson happy you got a couple pics at Spring Training!
Adam you saw my inquiry about you always going to Bobs Bigboy when you’re in that area of So. Cal. You were at Universal for a few days and thought we were going to get a quick little video snip-it of you visiting one of your favorite eating establishments in the greater LA area!
Adam, really enjoyed your awesome vlog! That's really cool that you got pictures taken with some of your favorite TB players! Thank you for taking me along with you! Adam, YOU ROCK!
I just saw the trailer for The Florida Project. It looks like a wonderful independent film and it showcases all the main spots in the Kissimmee area. That purple decor was quite eye-catching and spectacularly Florida-ish. Very cute paint scheme.
Sad to see The Magic Castle go. Stayed there many times growing up as a kid during the 90s and early 2000s during 192s prime years. Miss seeing all the different things along 192 and now this hotel is a bygone relic.
I’ve watched the Florida Project a few times. Definitely shines the light on the reality of things & So close to theme park magic..Also Dafoe is from my home state! WI 😃
Love these updates from around town. Always love seeing the strange highway 192. I used to work at Osceola Regional and would take that road frequently.
98 i was going to MMI and living behind Target at Cascades Apt. working at the flying tigers museum it was the best time i had in my whole life. Thank you for always keeping up on the area
My mind is blown. I watched this yesterday, never heard of the magic castle until yesterday. And this morning youtube gives me a "The Florida Project" notification. Eerie...
My ex wife and I stayed in the magic castle about 13 years ago. It wasn't in the best of conditions then, so I'm sure it needed updated for sure. Somewhat bittersweet to see the purple gone.
Good morning Adam the woo it is always good to see you with your videos I hope you will keep them up this is what you do is keep me going to look forward to seeing a video
Hasn't the weather been so beautiful here in Central Florida Adam?? I'm sure just like me you love being a Floridian!!!!!! God Bless the sunshine state!
Adam, f you've never tried a ride in a Helicopter, you should it's awesome. My wife and I did on the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean on our 25th. wedding anniversary and again in Vegas over the Grand Canyon. Best way to describe the sensation is like being suspended on a great big hook in the sky. You will love it, Honestly.
been watching you for years adam here recently been getting back into watching you vids love it especially darker side you did with black dahlia and manson murders
I’m also 48 and grew up loving baseball. The 80s baseball was incredible. Staying at Jambo house tomorrow! Going to vlog the run Disney event ( I’m not running 😂)hopefully see some spring training.
I do remember when you did the Florida Project filming location and I had never heard of the movie but what was funny after you made that video the next day it was on one of my movie channels so I watched it and I actually liked it and it was nice seeing a lot of the things you showed also the oddest thing is so many of your filming location videos after you would do them that movie whatever it may be would be on one of my movie channels I just can’t explain it now you showing places that no longer exist it really is sad because so many memories were had at these places same thing has happened where I live well thanks for a beautiful day now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you in the next awesome Adam the daily woo adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
Please consider doing a vlog on the Maingate Lakeside Resort which is also a dive motel on U.S. Route 192 Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. Maingate Lakeside Resort was the beautiful and clean tourist oriented Sheraton Lakeside Inn from 1973 - the late 1990s. My family stayed there on a nearly yearly basis from 1987 - 1997 while visiting Disney World when I was a kid and teenager, so that is the basis of my interest in this property. Sheraton Lakeside Inn began to decline once Disney opened moderate and value onsite resorts that were affordable for typical middle class guests in the 1990s and early 2000s. These onsite resorts syphoned many of Sheraton Lakeside Inn’s tourist guests which forced them to become a low end motel and residential motel. In the 2000s, Sheraton Lakeside Inn became Sheraton Four Points Lakeside, La Quinta Inn Lakeside, Best Western Lakeside, and ultimately the Maingate Lakeside Resort owned by Millennium Hotels. I haven’t been to the Maingate Lakeside Resort since 1997, but I can tell from online reviews and pictures that it has become a disgusting, dilapidated, dirty dive.
I’ve heard of the Film, The Florida Project, but have not seen it. Now I’m interested in watching it. Especially if Willem is in it, what a great actor he is. 😎👍💜🌴🏰
I've probably watched the Florida Project 30+ times. Love it! Recommend it to a couple friends, and they were like "WTF!". Definitely not for everybody.🤣
I have wanted to see The Florida Project from the first time you did the filming locations. Many people say it is Willem Dafoe's best ever performance. Thanks for the revisit.
Do the helicopter Adam. What a fantastic experience it would be. You love transportation and the views would be stunning. Take Daphne or mumma Woo. That would be awesome!♡
I bet you anything that the two Rays players in the pictures went back into the dugout and said, “it was so cool! We had our pictures taken with Adam the Woo!”
I spent two weeks at The Magic Castle in Sept 2021. Had no idea of the connection to the movie at the time. I was just looking for the cheapest room available since I didn’t plan on spending time there other than to sleep and shower. The room was in bad shape and I saw more than one roach but you get what you pay for, lol. In spite of that it was still one of the best trips to Florida I’ve taken although I swore I’d never stay there again. I was in the second floor room on the right, right in front of the elevator in the screencap Adam showed.
Was always afraid to be on a helicopter too, but. ever since a youngster wanted to fly to an Alaskan glacier, and walk on the glacier. Did so for the big 50 figuring if something happened at least It fulfilled a child hood dream. Bite the bullet!!Even though u don't respond a lot, like your precise, short replys . Safe travels 👍😌✈️
I’m amazed that the Rays remain in business. A great franchise. A great farm system. Always puts a great team on the field… and literally no fans! They have to be the recipients of the luxury tax. My goodness, if I owned that team I’d move to Nashville or summer other city where they appreciate the team. Adam’s a true fan. The Rays should consider themselves lucky.
12:01 - Flashback of one of your funniest videos with Roscoe & Count Stankus... You dressed up as Gandalf proclaiming to passing traffic, "Oooohhh.... I'm a wizard! No one will ever think it's me! I'm a wizard! No it's not Adam The Woo! I'm a wizard!" LOL, Adam The Wizard...
Love your videos feel like I’m traveling there with you ,, will we ever get a tour on your place in celebration?? Miss the coffee ams u would do in Orange
Cool Robinson R44 helicopter!! You should do the ride, i saw some doing tours in Panama City last December. They build those helicopters here in Torrance California!
Apparently you can't get builders for house renevations Adam around Florida because there's so much construction, building condos and stuff, a hospital is not a bad replacement for the Holyland, well that is if you can afford to go to hospital, as the insurance is sky high, totally agree, hope they don't remove the Wizard, he stands for I'm on holiday lol, for me anyway as is the old E.T board, enjoyed the updates, nice photos of you and the players 😊
Adam those helicopter rides are amazing. Me and my grandson when he was 3 years old took the fly over Orlando flight wat from I-Drive and we did the full flight over the Great Smokie Mountians from Sevierville TN.
@@TheDailyWoo the pilot we had in Sevirville was a veteran pilot that flew helicopters in Vietnam. He made that helicopter feel like a rollercaoster. .
Us locals hate the helicopters. They make sleeping during the day impossible. The local government opened them up around 20 years ago and it's been hell ever since. You tourists never think of us locals and how junk like this impacts us. Ever think about the fuel they use and the toxins they drop over my house daily? Think of us locals next time you pay for something like this.
@@TheDailyWoo as a tour operator, I can tell you taking a helicopter tour over any Alaskan glacier/scenery, over the Grand Canyon, over the Masai Mara safari and over an erupting volcano on the Big Island in Hawai’i are my greatest memories! Scary but worth it! I was attending grad school at the U. Of Hawai’i when Kilauea erupted -perfect timing!
Yeah I also grew up in central Florida and was born in the late 70’s and I agree this movie totally took me right back to my childhood of being around that area of central Florida. It captured the feeling perfectly! That time period in that area had such a vibe! Funny I was just commenting on a Dan Bell video he did that totally reminded me of a few strip clubs around the greater Orlando area called The Boobie Trap lol! I’ve always remembered them because the building itself was shaped like two boobs lol! I remember it vividly from my childhood there lol! I’m pretty sure there are still at least one left. I don’t live there anymore but some of my family is still in the neighborhood I grew up in and when I visited this past November I swear I saw one as I drove by.
Hey Adam. Just did some research the developer inn is a chain of hotels and suites. Based in Orlando, they have Hotels in Orlando and Kissimmee and also Jacksonville.
What a great movie my favorite that year I love small indy movies like the spectacular now and the way way back also would love to know what Orlando looked like before Disney and sea world
Hello Adam, February 21, 2023 at 4:26 PM EST Julianne McShane. An 85-year-old woman was killed in an alligator attack Monday as she was walking her dog in Florida, authorities said. The incident occurred just after noon, when Gloria Serge was walking her small dog near the community retention pond at Spanish Lakes Fairways, a 55-plus community in Fort Pierce, a city about 67 miles north of West Palm Beach, according to the state Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Totally do the helicopter ride. Think about it, have you ever heard of them crashing, not often. 😅 Make for a great video! I’d love to take one above my farm in east St. Cloud.
I noticed the "Zacchaeus stuck in the tree" figure was also gone (he was between Moses and the ark). I always remember you pointing him out. That one angle that you have gone back and shot at again and again is really great for comparisons. So informative to watch your Holy Land coverage over the past decade. Thanks Adam!
I really hope you're able to acquire the old magic castle sign. I know it's probably way too big for your apartment but getting a storage unit just for that sign is worth it.
My husband and I stayed at The Magic Castle several years ago…it was SO bad, stayed only two nights and then we left early! Found a room at Friends of Disney Hotel (now Drury Lane Hotel). CEMM
