CycleCruza don't let anyone tell you what you should like or what you should not like. I have been riding Harleys for the past 35 yrs. The Harley community are snobbish and that's not me ! Two years ago I bought a Honda CBR 500 R from my grandson who was getting tied of it. Let me tell you ,I should have bought one years ago, boy what an idiot snob I was. Anyway I have had the most fun on the CBR than I've had in years since I owned my dirt bikes. It's 400lbs less than my Road King and could leave it in the dust in a heart beat . It's quick and nimble and hell of allot lighter. The Wife refuses to get on it because it isn't a Harley...... Oh well! See you in a few hours...Bye... I'm 67yrs old and retired rocking a Road Kink and a CBR and loving every minute of it. Don't let anyone tell you what to do. It should be a no brainer. You have two bikes that are more practical for the type of riding you do. There is one that's just as much fun as the other two but requires allot more maintenance and more frequent maintenance than the other two. If it were me, I definitely keep the MT07. I have been thinking about test driving one myself. But that's me, you have to be you. Either way whatever you choose I'm sure will be the right decision. Best of luck and really enjoy your videos. Keep it up Bud 👍
First off, thanks for keeping it real and sharing your truth. That is awesome that you are enjoying the CBR500R. I know Harley riders must be really upset you enjoy your Honda motorcycle more. lol I just can't justify the price of getting a new Harley. The only Harley I've ever really been interested in is the V-Rod. I do love the looks of the Breakout but I was so disappointed when I test rode one back in 2015, however, the new ones are faster. The funny thing is I bought my MT-07 at an exclusive Harley dealership and it was their best selling motorcycle from what they told me even though their floor had 99% Harleys. It is awesome to see you still riding. I wish you the best of luck, here's to more years of you riding!
The track day culture, coaching, and chance to really improve beyond being a "street" rider more than offsets the couple hundo it costs. You really are selling yourself short by not trying it at least once or twice. I've heard that many kart tracks host smaller cc bike days as well. That would be perfect for your supermotos!
I would love to ride my supermotos on a tight twisty kart track. I need to find one near me. Those hybrid supermoto tracks with street and dirt combined that I see on RU-vid are sick. I just need to find one.
I love all the options you’ve given. V-rod build, grom, scooter, old bike build. Now I know when you say old you mean something within like the last 20 or so years but it’d be cool to see you experience the rawness of an even older vintage bike. Little to no electronics just pure mechanical power. If it’s a scooter though, I’d love to see you get a Vespa. Also, Taiwanese scooters are great, you’ve thought about getting a Kymco before. SYM is another huge Taiwanese scooter brand, one that I have a distant familial connection to its founder. Honda metropolitan is cool too, though those things are 49 cc and only go 41 mph, but there are mods out there for them. It’d be cool to see you make a tiny slow bike fast
The answer is simple, you won't get more torque on any other bikes than you will electric ones. Go for the Energica EGO or EVA Ribelle, or go for the Zero SR/F.
Straight up from my experience you'll regret selling the MT07. Of all the bikes I've had in nearly 15 years of I truly regret selling my MT07. Even more so than the first 2 R6s I had, which is why I gravitated back to a R6 now. But the MT07 and Grom are IMO the most fun bikes have had to wheelie on. So I'd honestly suggest get a Grom, especially since a new model Grom is coming out. A mini bike is the way to go if you want to wheelie around and have tons of fun just ripping around on it.
Complete the MT series and get the MT10. I test rode one 2 months ago and was instantly hooked. I ended up buying a new MT10 a few weeks ago. It has PLENTY of torque, and even staying in first gear for around town/city ripping throttle listening to that engine is so addicting. And the upright riding position is so comfortable.
All of the MT bikes are torquey, MT actually stands for "Master of torque." I;ve been waiting for Yamaha to redesign the MT-10, I've never been a fan of the looks of the MT-10, looks like a transformer. Japan needs to hire designers from Ducati or MV Agusta.
@@CycleCruza yeah agreed on the mt10, plus it's dam overkill unless youre a maniac. new mt09sp looks hot, but you ain't getting a deal on that. i picked up a 23 sp for 9500 before fees and taxes.
I had the xsr900 which as you know same cp3 engine but this cp4 is much more fun. I didn’t like the looks of first gen mt10 but I do for this 2nd gen. I don’t feel it’s overkill because it’s so easy to ride low speeds around town unlike my speed triple 1200rs which had such aggressive fueling. Just letting off clutch first gear no throttle it goes 20mph. That bike felt more overkill. And triple engine just doesn’t have the same feeling s twins, V4, or , cross plane
@@CycleCruza MT09 got a refresh. Thing has cruise control and a USB-C port. It's also not that much heavier than the MT07. And it sounds better than everything. If I was gonna do touring (I'm not) I'd do that instead of MT10. Completion of series or not :/
You'll pay 200-300 and like it, street is boring, then you'll pay 600 for a track like COTA and like it. You'll also be humbled and see how slow you are. Just don't use a litre bike, it will hamper your progress and you''ll burn through expensive tires fast
Just picked up a ZH2 to add to my 701...I can't stop laughing in my helmet. It's flashed with the full Brocks system so 240 HP to the wheel. The torque is not of this world...whiplashed me on my first ride :)
It's not the price of track days as much as it is dealing with all the rules bs. I want to go to the track and do some ignorant shiz like blast by fools in the corner like I'm playing a motoGP video game. lol I used to get kicked out of the Go Kart track for that back in the day at the former Grand Prix Race-o-Rama in FL, lol
@@CycleCruza They have three groups at most Tracks... I would assume you know this. Novice Intermediate and Expert. You have to ride Novice your first Track day. They teach you all the rules of the track and give you some coaching. If you are decent then they will move you up to Intermediate. I have never even been to a Track day, but I can guess you might get Humbles by the faster intermediates.. The experts are flat out fast. You will need practice and coaching to ever get into the Expert Class. I did some serious Ski racing and my ski racing skills transfer to road racing pretty well. My Guess is I can jump to Intermediate on my second track day. At age 63 I am not sure if I can ever advance to the expert group. I might have to spend $999.00 on a leather Electonic air vest before I get too aggressive.
I'm building a gear to chain drive electric sport bike with lithium phosphate batteries that don't catch on fire........ I'm also a new rider so I'm not good with speed yet...... Trying to take it easy....
If you like electric vehicles. Why won't you try an EUC? I'm looking to try to get an EUC called a Begode Falcon. I think that's really cool how it's self balancing, have a powerful electric motor, portable, and have long range to boot. That Begode Falcon that I"m lookin at right meow is really cheap sorta. The specs are pretty impressive for an electric one wheel. It has a 1500watt motor, and a 900wh batter
I have a husqvarna 701 in my summer house, but where I live I only have 150 cc bikes commuting in traffic. I test rode a mt07 yesterday and it was really fun and fast. So hard to decide whether to get it or just stick with my 150 cc bikes which are very practical. The mt07 did feel heavy compared to my Husqvarna 701, and of course a huge difference compared to my 150 cc bikes. I´m planning a 2000 mile trip in monsoon season and its a hard decision, mt07 or 150 cc scooter.
@@CycleCruza oh yeah will definitely be here for it, especially if its like one of the pics you showed, just tricked and looking sick...maybe some white-walls lol
you can take the WR to the kart track. the kart track days are cheap just like go kart days and the rules are about the same. a lot less structured than a big track day.
i was on the fence for a couple years, on the mt07. i rode dual sport 365 for about 6 years. You convinced me, and my mt07 has been a God send, such a great bike! i have a few months to figure out what ill do in the winter, but until then, damn i love that bike
Build a big shop on your property so you can have more room to store bikes and work on them. Edit if you plan to get an older bike look into getting an old crf100f for trail riding
A 2 stroke trials style bike mx bike would be light and different type of content might be sweet doing maneuvers in the urban areas like a sumo? That or the Gokart build or an old 2 stroke dirtbike build would be knarley
If you go Grom I'd say the MT-07. I think the V-Rod build would be cool but if you do that sell the MT-07. Haven't done any cruiser content in awhile so that would a plus for the V-Rod and the HD will hopefully busting you chops about never having a "Real Bike!"
Collecting bikes is a fools game because they depreciate so fast. Sell it, move on, and enjoy the next step in the journey. You can always look forward to the next iteration of the MT07, if and when that day comes.
I love that you would consider the new 1390 super Duke. I’d love to ride one myself. I love my MT07 like you but something just kind of has me wanting something different next year. I even considered getting the new Triumph scrambler 400. Those lower cc bikes are fun too. I just bought a new CF Moto Papio which is grom like and I honestly love it more than I thought I would. It’s fun to ride something wide open without breaking the law. The build quality on the CF Moto is better than I thought it would be but definitely a little less than any big 4 Japanese bike. So maybe think something somewhat smaller than what you’ve already had. I think something in the so called beginner market category would do your channel a lot of good. Just something to think about. No matter what you get it will be fun.
My new wr250 seems like its heating up my right leg, is that normal? Does a cat delete help fix that? Also the throttle seems a little touchy from idle, I’ve heard ppl say that’s normal. Did you put a g2 throttle tamer on your old wr? I never heard you mention that
Did you mod your wr250r or is it stock? If you mods the wr250r it'll be way better in every way. From what I remember, I didn't do anything to the throttle when I had the bike.. However, I did have on a Power Commander with a couple of custom maps on a switch.
Hey CC, I'm like you safety comes first when riding my bike. But this last week through the heat wave I rode with shorts on. and when riding I was thinking you little brother about riding with shorts on. lol.
Never in life would I ride a motorcycle with shorts, if you saw what happened to my friend when he crashed wearing shorts a tank top you would never wear short on a motorcycle again. He had road rash so back and was in constant pain and his skin was messed up bad, scarred for life. he learned the hard way.
Hey Cheapskate.. lets go to Tail of the Dragon .. I have side bags .. top case .. and tank bag on my FZ-07 .. I can haul all my camping gear on my bike.. You can drive your Bug Out Van.. Camping is cheap at Deals Gap .. I definitely improved my cornering a lot with two afternoons of riding the Dragon in 2022
Yes I must ride that road. It has been on my bucket list since 2012. That would be a great bugout van trip. However, I have to finish this house renovation which I'm nearly done.
Your right scooter wouldn't be popular. All expensive but if torque...get electric ie zero srs, new Buells coming out. Try a trike for the old guys or Ural.
A scooter would prolly be an unpopular choice, but it may open up that world to people who haven’t given it a try. I’ve had all types of motorcycles except the adventure style, and a maxiscooter has been the most comfortable. They’re great for around town. I get from 100 to 110 mpg too. I like the idea of a custom VRod too.
If I bought one I would prefer the Tracer over the MT-09 but don't want to pay way more $$$$ for electronic suspension ect. For what the Tracer costs it gets me close to the price of a Buell Super Cruiser.
My opinion on the V-Rod notwithstanding, I still say I don't really feel like you gave the Breakout a fair shake, seeing as you seemed to come at it from the standpoint of a sport bike rider and compared it to such. I think that's why you felt it was a slow bike.
bro those mods you're installing is almost the same exact mod list i have on my 2018 701. Its got all the engine upgrades but NONE of the tech, easy to disable abs, no traction control or any other tech
Yes on v-rod or you should do a from ground up chopper/cruiser build using a after market frame maybe even make a electric muscle chopper there's not to many of them on RU-vid I've only even seen maybe one custom electric chop on RU-vid keep the cool video's
not a fan of the small wheeled stuff on the street. I'd probably be more into a rebuild/customization of your EGO mover and blower at this rate. the grom's are so played out so don't bother. the HD build i would be interested in. that would be a extremely easy way to blow large sums of cash fast. Of course you would need to get one of those alpinestars demin vest airbags.
I still say you should have bought the 2024 YZ450 FX CycleCruza. It's a whole different animal than the 2019. Even Suzuki is coming out in 2025 with a whole new SuperMoto, the RM600 SM. It looks bad a**! Plus Honda is bustin out with it's CRF 770 SM in 2025 too.
I was going to suggest a Grom, or a Chinese Grom clone. I ride a Condor 150, which has a option of easily putting a CG250 engine in it ( with a balancer now too ). Some nice Chinese dual sports snow. Old bike? Get a old Sportster, put a 1250 Hammer kit in it.
You need to get either a speed triple (liter bike) or a street triple 765. These bikes should be called the masters of torque, I've seen plenty of reviews comparing the mt-07 and the mt-09 to the street triple let alone the speed triple and they say it's a far way better bike. I've had my eyes on an mt-07, especially after you got one, but I'm skeptical because my old speed triple has got more torque than both them Yamahas. You can look that up online.
Jesus christ that KTM is hot. I watched the whole series so far on that. Super sweet supermoto. It's year 3 on my klx300sm now O.o. Wish I had more power at this point. Thirsting on that KTM :D
Hey man. There is new ktm Duke 990 as well. And a ktm owner told me, there is some problem with ktm Duke 890. I vould recommend the 790 duke. And there is a good looking Harley D. some guys did a sick build from Harley D pan amerika like a flat track or hooligan racing bike.l Or there is a sick Indian Ftr 1200. But I personally love the mt07. I will get one soon, with gray colour and colour wheels. 1more thing. Yamaha Tenere 700 extreme, or we are getting here in Europe the Chinese kove 800 rally. The same engine like ktm 790, and there is cfmoto 800 nk with ktm 790 engine. Lot of cool bike options there. Good luck with new bike 😉
Personally I would enjoy watching some older sport bike project. I’m thinking of getting some lightly crashed older sport bike myself for a project. I love bringing back life to damaged things. But I guess you have to do what you enjoy best :) ✌️
Have you seen the 24 Harley Nightster? I heard some true Harley stunt guy saying it’s the best bike they’ve ever made. It’s like a sportster and a dyna got mixed together and updated
I been watching your videos for long time and I thinking getting a moped trike spider 200cc next year because other scooter trike I got to heavy 460lbs and tilting system keeps going out! Mostly Cycle Cruza I think do anything you want on your sports bikes I know do great things with it! I been saving up the money for your helmet and air vest! 😊 👍
Nice! That sounds like a plan. I have been thinking about adding a little scooter or possibly a Grom and mod it. You are smart to get some gear. especially a helmet and airbag. Best of luck!
Hard to believe you're getting rid of that black bike, I barely watch your vids these days but you rode it a lot and love it lol, wish I had a lot of bikes to choose from, I barely got in the hobby last year, plus I have a few other hobbies so it's not easy, I'm better off getting a bunch of half-assed cheap project bikes and put them together than buy new ones left and right like this at this point in my life.. But yeah that would be my last guess of a bike you're getting rid of, you must be pretty sure about the replacement, it wouldn't be so bad if it's a harley, I personally like the harley Iron and I don't know much about harleys myself but it has a nice look.
Mr. Cycle cruiser if you want a bike with the most torque, take a look at Buel they use Harley Davidson engines, but it’s a sport bike and is very unique should get a lot of attention. I’ve seen a few of them out here in Cali.
Yeah I had to order my mt-07 new and waited a couple months to get it. They have always been in high demand and they hold their value extremely well, one of the reasons I got it. Some days I wake up and want to sell it for something new and different and other days I never want to sell it and get mad at myself for even thonking about selling it. 🤣 I'm sorry I sold that Ducati XDiavel S, that is the only bike I ever got hit on by a chick. lol That bike was awesome but my cheapness overtook me and I worried about Ducati reliability.
Then I guess the new 698 ducati is out of the question, I think that bike could be a phenomenal bike, haven't seen anything online of any REAL issues either, still pretty new though. I'm still scared to pull the trigger though 😅
