Littlebigplanet was more than just a game

Watching Little Big Planet "dying" videos here feels like recieving infomation from your family about your Grandparent's Condition getting worse while in a Hospital.

Just finished Little Big Planet 3 with my little brother yesterday, I personally grew up with the series so I wanted to give him the same experience. I think even without servers up, the game still serves its purpose of inspiring creativity, he loves it and tomorrow I’ll dig out the old ps3 and we’ll play lbp 1 and 2 ❤

This game was single handedly making my day brighter in any way possible, it's absolutely devastating to see my favorite game franchise of all time shriveled from relevancy and blow away, unless in a million years they decide to make the infamous LBP4 it's the hard soul sucking truth that this game is pushing up daisies, Rest in peace LBP, you will be missed by your fans, and especially me. 😞 🕊️🌹

I may be the one negative comment on this, but idc. Sumo Digital don't seem to be treating this series too greatly at the moment. LBP3 was our only game that still had online, and now it's gone, and it'll probably be gone forever. When Media Molecule had the IP, the series felt full of hope, they had 4 games (assuming the ps3 and ps4 servers for 3 were different) online at all times. Now we can't even keep 1 game up anymore, I know hackers were a big issue with it but if we can't even keep 1 games server online, then it shows they don't really care THAT much about LBP anymore. Who knows, maybe they're cooking LBP4. If they are, I'll gladly take my words back. But as it stands, LBP is becoming another one of Sony's abandons games where they'll throw the character in other games for money. I'm hoping LBP4 is on the horizon, if not.. Well, atleast the fandom has our backs with ReStitched.

Hackers just need to stop, this game is beatifull but the thing that they take it from us is horrible

don't say goodbye! we still have custom servers and a very awesome community to rely on! just because the official server is closing doesn't mean it has to be over.

i used to have a friend on LBP named Ash. no clue if we was British or Australian but he was good at building. we spent hours on the moon building and gossiping so he was a living core memory

i have never felt so sad about a game disappearing in my life when club penguin was taken down i was sad but it came back but lbp is a TripleA game so it wont

I was sad to see that the servers are *down* once again. I literally remember playing that one TRON recreation level with my brother, that fighting game where you’re a giant pushing player 2 off the side as they do the same to you and it’s different characters, the OG horror levels, AND THE MUSIC THAT PEOPLE WOULD PRODUCE WAS SO GOOD. I miss the old alive days.

Feels like every year i see a "goodbye LBP" video from someone, this one definitely is one of the better ones though

Sony ruined this franchise. They really should have pressed Nintendo about this a second time. Sony doesn't even have a major release this year because they killed all of their most creative IPs, and the fans are the ones who have suffer.

Me and my sister played every game in the series. It shaped our creativity, humor, and intellect. It was so beautiful.

I remember seeing this game on store shelves often. I wasn't playing games back then, but recently I remembered about a fabric figure I hadn't seen for a long time and decided that I would buy this game soon...

I met my best friend who I've been friends with for over 15+ years on Little Big Planet 1, we've always played the newest installments and seing this video just hit my heart that I never thought would be hit before. This game was my nostalgia and my first ever favorite game. I remember playing Escape Jeff the Killer, visiting How To worlds on how to make my favorite character with stickers and decorations. This wasn't just a game, it was an experience, a home away from home. Bonds were formed on the game, friends were made... Hell 50% of my friends list consisted of people I met on LBP. I'm sad that it's possibly leaving us, but I'll always cherish and love the memories I have and made on this wonderful world of worlds we called a game.

LittleBigPlanet needs a movie.

I can’t help but to feel disappointed that I never grew up on a PlayStation to of played these games, from having watched countless videos of others who were fortunate enough to amongst the years all I can think is the community I missed out on. I used to play sandbox games around when LBP was new for such a community, but as they died out it felt like they were only being continually replaced by matchmaking games through means of live service which pits players as opponents rather than grant them the means for creativity to flourish and for friendships to be made.

Never gonna forget the days when I'd go over to my friend's house and play Little Big Planet 2 community levels for hours and hours on end. We must've played that Jeff the Killer game at least 50 times lol, I'm really glad that I was able to enjoy it in those days. It may be over, but it served its purpose while it was here and will live on in the memories and friends we made along the way, and that's all we can ask of a gem of a game like LBP.

Theres been a lot of suprises so far this year, i could genuinely see a LBP 4 being announced by the end of this year

little big planet has had it rough. first the 1st two games aren’t just playstation exclusives but ps3 exclusive, so if you don’t have that system then it is impossible for you to play those games on a real console or without an emulator. now all the online servers are going down. I feel so sad that this beautiful game is getting bullied

Man. I didn’t really get too much into LBP3, but a big part of all the LBP games was the community levels so it’s a shame they’re all down now.

genuinely wondering, *could* it be a good idea to get a large amount of the community to comment on playstation community posts and livestreams to at least say or do something about littlebigplanet?

I'm heading off to college soon and all those things I grew up with are passing by the wayside. I just gave away a whole bunch of my kid's books and I'm starting to feel that sadness dragging on me a little bit. And LittleBigPlanet. The biggest sadness of all, because I know it's a game that's forever changed and that I may not ever play again. But, you know, I had such a blast with these games when they were in full swing. Those were very, very fond memories and I'll keep them with me for as long as I live. Now, though, I have new adventures to look forward to in my life. I'm moving on and becoming an adult. I used to play LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet 3 on our family’s PS3 Slim, when I heard about the server shutdown many years later, I was devastated, because I used to spend so much time with my sister playing multiplayer, either messing around in create mode, diving into other people’s pods or playing story mode, for Christmas the next year, I got a PS4 and LittleBigPlanet 3,but then a few years later, those servers shut down too. Then I found the Easter egg on Media Molecule’s website with the PS5 DualSense controller by the LBP 1 and 2 descriptions, and that gave me hope, even if it’s just a remake, I still have hope, if this does happen, I will be very happy, because LittleBigPlanet is one of my favourite series of games, and I would love to see it return. It probably won’t, it could barely survive a third game, but if it does happen, I would get a PS5 just for that, that and GTA 6 too.

Got to play a few minutes of a little big planet game in either 2013 or 2012 at a friend's house. Think about it often, and wish I could have played it more.

It may sound strangle but I always felt good knowing that even though I had grown, all of the levels I had created as a child still existed and may have even been still being enjoyed by a new generation. My heart does ache a bit knowing that small peice of me is now gone forever.

to know that a piece of my childhood will be dying once and for all really does something to me. a sense of bitter sorrow fills me, truly..

What do these hackers have against us? why do they constantly bring down the servers? because of them we cant play online anymore and people have to resort to jailbreaking their ps3 just to do so.

I know that the servers have potential to come back, there's just nothing else like this game. It helped me get through a lot, and yet I can't help it at all.

My history with this franchise runs so deep 😭. I got my copy of LBP from a friend that moved away and loved the game even though I had no one to play with. Then I got my copy of LBP2 at target when the special edition came out and had fun playing with some friends. Although the LBP3 and Sackboy’s Big Adventure aren’t my favorite games in the franchise I still had plenty of fun playing online and couch CO-OP with friends. This is without mentioning both LBP Karting. This video game franchise has been apart of my life and I hope to see another game that can give us in the community a way to continue to play and share levels online once again. Thank you Little Big Planet for the memories.

I’m gonna miss this game heavily. I remember when I was 6 or like 5 years old my dad used to take me to his aunts house. My cousins had a PlayStation 3 and I was obsessed with the console. I would usually play Grand Theft Auto 5 just running people over but then I found the cartridge for little big planet 3 and 2. I popped it in and played for hours. I remember asking my dad to take me every week to play with my cousins. I’m gonna miss those days, I wish I could go back no worries in the world just having fun.

me and my family used to play LBP together a lot, especially my brothers. Im gonna miss this goofy and funny series.

The worst part about it is there is no news of a new lbp, so if lbp 3 goes out you’re stuck, unless you have a homebrewed vita.

LBPUnion has brought back online via emulation and beacon servers. You can still play online with people with people and soooo many archived levels via the wonderful community :)

Never have I seen such a community like LittleBigPlanet's community. I've seen passion within the communities of other games, and I've seen grief from games that eventually were taken offline, but I've never seen any community display both more than this community. It's both heartwarming and heartbreaking seeing how much love this community had towards this game. Love that was encapsulated through creativity and passion, and to see this game's ability to connect being taken away by hackers is gut-wrenching. It's sad. I'm going to miss LittleBigPlanet when it eventually dies. It was an experience like no other.

LBP was the first game I ever played, and with my brother. This game has always been so close to my heart, I've practically been on my knees for so long for a sequel that all circulation to my shins cut off. I just really, really hope we get a 4th game, or at least keep the 3rd one up.

God I remember watching so many letsplays of LBP horror maps as a kid, especially the squidward and Jeff the Killer ones. Both LBP and Roblox were my go-tos to really express my creativity back then, and they’re so important to me for that. I’m so glad so many others look back fondly as well, it makes it a lot easier.

At this point, i hope the Sackboy series can find a good niche that sticks with, even rudimentary, creative options. SABA 2 would even be nice, anything that can just in some way bring these characters back and allow for, even the slightest bit of creativity. Doesn't have to be LBP 4, or any remake, or even SABA 2. But just a game, an app, anything that keeps the community dreaming.

i had a friend when i was 8 that played this game a lot. it was because of them that i played little big planet 2 when i got a ps3 for my 11th birthday. i never played online, but i wish i did. i’m going to hope that some day we get a new little big planet game that is able to revive what the the online experience was like for the first two games. i doubt it, but i’ll keep wishing lol

Never really played little big planet 3 all that much, however I did play it a little bit and I had some good fun with it. Everyone has those games where we cherish forever. When it shuts down it is truly sad, but the things you can’t forget are the good times you had with the game, and they hold a special place in our hearts. LBP has been a major role in my childhood, and I'm sad to see it go. I vividly remember playing LBP1 on my PS3 with my brother every day after school, and I remember when my dad would come take me to get a haircut and i would complain so much that I couldn't play more. We spent hours every day just making and playing community levels, it took us months just to beat boom town, LBP has definitley influenced me to be more creative and thoughtful and i am eternally grateful.

dude idk if the intro is your basic intro or if you used it for this specific video but it shot me in the heart with nostalgia reminded me of all the people i met playing LBP it sucked when i lost my original psn account miss playing with my old friends we 100% the game together and around when 2 came out my ps3 bricked and i lost my account it sucked to hear when the first LBP shut down cause as the other they have dedicated fans

i would play lbp with my older sister all the time when i was younger, and i have so many fond memories of us playing. sure i was awful at it and she carried me (similarly to when we played rayman). the lbp series will forever bring so much nostalgia to me.

This hurts a lot it was one of my favorite games growing up. I was in love with Minecraft, Roblox and little big planet as a kid. When my parents got a ps4 they immediately got me Minecraft but said they wait until my 8th birthday to give me little big planet, but it never happened even on my 9th, 10th or 11th birthday I never ended up getting it. I will be 16 in 3 months and yet I still haven't gotten it and yet the game is dying right in front of my own two eyes other than that though I do agree with you it is time to let the game come to an end it just felt like it wasn't just a game especially growing up with it but seeing what happened to the other games I played as a kid such as Roblox for example I agree. I don't want them to accidently make something that was golden turn into something that has the same value as a penny(referencing what happened to Roblox after 2017)

It really sucks. LBP 1 was the first game I ever played, back when I was 4. My family hadn't had internet yet, so I was never able to play the online levels before the servers were attacked. I remember when I played my first LBP 3 level, it was a heist level. I remember my first published level, a crappy "deathrun" that you could avoid by switching back a layer. When I beat LBP 2 with my younger cousin, when I finally went back to LBP 1 and conquered the "Wheel of Death". I am 13 now, so almost 10 years have passed since I started playing the game. 10 amazing years of fun, memories, and good times. Goodbye Little Big Planet. You were amazing.

Awh man.. My brother got his ps5 and let me get his little big planet game, he told me that he doesn't know if the game shut down or not. I searched it up and.. Here we are. I really wanted to play this game:( My brother said it was really fun.

I remember I straight up mourned over LittleBigPlanet 2 when I lost my ps3 and the servers for the older games were taken down. LBP2 has always been my favorite video game of all time, and it always will be. While I am sure the ps4 servers will come up again eventually I don’t think it’ll matter that much in the end

now the game is completely, gone. my childhood game is now gone, all of my levels. my seaside project, my background remakes i spent years on perfecting, will now be gone for ever

I think I speak for a lot of gamers that were in their upper teens when this came out, but this was oddly enough still, one of the first games that made me really think about the world in it and try to gain a deeper understanding from it than what it really just told you. It tells you lots pretty literally at times but other things can be left to interpretation or just laid out vaguely. I definitely use a lot of stuff I learned about world building from this game.

I recently was gifted a ps3 and lbp1 and was so excited to play all those online games, got so let down when I heard it’s almost impossible to play online without coding the servers to open. After looking up, it’s been offline for quite some time now. Really sucks, rip lbp, thanks for all the memories

littlebigplanet marked a before and after in my life (and I'm sure in the lives of many here), lbp marked me because you could say that it was my introduction to video games, I had other games before but lbp was the one that marked me the most, Its story, characters, gameplay, everything was special and even though I don't have many important memories (because it was a long time ago) even so, lbp was and will always be the franchise that marked my life forever, enter the different games and listen The narrator talking and then ending with phrases like "you will always be welcome on littlebigplanet" is what I remember most about this saga. Now I speak for all the fans of this franchise, that even though lbp as such died several years ago, we will never, NEVER, forget these games because all the moments, memories, experiences that we have had, will always live in our minds. and our hearts forever and that is the most important thing. I simply ask that we not lose hope that the servers will return because even though we do not have much information about it, true fans are still waiting and we will not lose hope. To finish I will just say, LITTLEBIGPLANET IS THE BEST GAME EVER AND WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.

I love little big planet, ever since I played the original it’s one of my favorite series on the ps3/4. I got the platinum for LB2 & LBP3 and the level designs were so cool. You saw the potential people had with the game and how they expressed it in their levels. I hope we get a LBP4 someday.

I never got to play LBP3, because I was an xbox kid, but I did also have a ps3, and my sister and I spent countless hours on LBP1 and 2, it was our go to game for a good while, just going to the moons and creating the most random stuff we could. The one day we booted back up the game only to find the servers were offline was heartbreaking, and seeing a video like this pop up on my feed hurt a little more. But I'm still happy that I managed to play the game when I did, these were honestly some of the best games to have as a kid, and I loved every moment of playing them. And I think just reminding me of those days is enough to earn a sub from me.
