Thanks for the update - I haven't been back to the Reading bins in about 6 months because they started sifting through all of the donations with a fine tooth comb and it got even more competitive. A bunch of the Reading regulars are going to the Harrisburg bins now.
Hi Taco, the dirt in your yard is from moles. They dig deep tunnels this time of year and leave big dirt piles. They back fill the holes so no hole is visible from the grass. Interesting creatures. Have a Happy New Year and thanks for the great videos. Hugs and kisses to Salsa
When I lived in Germany I had a mole problem and I tried poison, flares, and even exhaust smoke to no avail. My German neighbor came over open a bottle of beer, drank half of it and then proceeded to bury that bottle half way at around 45 degree angle so the wind would make it vibrate, the moles disappeared. Another German neighbor told us that windmills do the same thing.. when I retired from the Army and lived on a small ranch we started getting rodents digging up around the yard I found a bunch of handheld windmills at the 99 cent store and put the in the garden and yard ad soon they were all gone So when I retired again and bought my house one thing I did was install a 9 foot windmill in my yard.
Enjoy Salsa enjoying the snow!!! Our golden would tunnel through deep snow at full speed, pop up to take a breath, orient themseves, and disappear under it again! They were so happy!
Thanks for the adventure, taco. It was great love it. When you go to the Bins, it's so nice, I wish that there had been more stuff for you. To look at hanging in there, there will be.😊😊😊😊😊
I enjoyed the chat about Goodwill...lots of rumors here too...i know when i pass the store that there is hardly anyone there...their prices have gone way up and i feel people are kind of boycotting them...who knows...see you next time...🥰🥰
Me too. I don't know about Goodwill, it's probably owned by Jeff Bezos, they act like it's charity to avoid taxes. Savers is the Gates Foundation aka Bill Gates. I'm not donating to them. Maybe more see it like us, and that's why there's nothing good there, as it should be. They get enough free.
Our local thrift has gotten really expensive and seems to never have sales. Stuff literally stays around for years. Instead of sending my donations to them, I have started offering up things outside our Little Food Pantry. My hardly-worn snow boots went in a day! People near us need a price break!
Hey Taco. We had those piles in our yard when we had a house & they were moles. Don't know if thats what you have , they sure look similar. We lived out in the country like you do. Take care.
Great tagging along to Goodwill with you Taco. Some days are better than others I guess, but you found some things. If I went to a Goodwill bin store, I’d have to look at every single bin! Lol. I’m no expert on critters, but those may be moles. Hopefully you’ll get an idea on how to send them on vacation elsewhere! Lol. Blessings always! ❤️✝️
Hey Taco I’m just watching the weather and it looks like you are gonna get some snow. Be safe and don’t hurt yourself shoveling. I live closer to the shore so only rain for us!
Thank you for bringing us to the bins. I use to go at least once a week. But had to stop due to back injury. Going to start shots soon. So, I hope to get back soon. It doesn’t matter how much you get at the bins. As long as they are a treasure for you. Stay safe and warm. And hugs and nose boops to Salsa. ❤️🐾
I cracked up when you said "holy smokes" at the Where's Waldo book! 😂 My son loved those books! You should have checked the date on that book, some of those are vintage. Oh well, you got some awesome stuff though, love the hat! I think the mounds of dirt in your yard are mole hills. Awesome video, thank you!
Hi, there are 2 Goodwill stores near me. One never has anything interesting and the other has good stuff. I try to check them out at least once a month. I'm near O'Hare airport. Tina, Al's wife
Taco stacks! Taco stacks! Taco stacks !!! For the win of the day! I appreciate you! Thanks for taking us along ! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
The bins in akron in is only 1.29 lb. We go weekly. Thanks for the videos. I love curb shopping. When i cant do it myself i love watching your finds .have a good day
I have not been to my Goodwill bins in awhile. The closest to me is an hour away. The last time I went there was clothing, clothing, and more clothing. I think the general merchandise was $1.89 a lb. and clothing was 10 or 20 cent more per lb. There isn't much merchandise to chose from as there use to be, so I am wondering what is going on too. Glad you took us on a run to your bins store Taco. It is good to see what you can pickup.
I just found out from another reseller that we have a bins in Maine. I’m in RI but still, I didn’t think we had bins at all in NE. Maybe someday I’ll encounter a bins on a trip up north. I did venture up to see DMB in Bangor last summer and I love it up there. Another great episode, Taco! Be well and stay warm.❄️☮️
It is called a pocket gopher if you dig around the mound you keep looking around there until you fill the soft area and dig down and you will find the hole
They combined two of the bin locations into a bigger one in Middletown at some point last year. I believe it was Camp Hill and Lancaster that were combined. Haven't been to it yet, but I heard it's pretty nice.
That is a gopher hole. Saw the hole when you kicked the mound over. Dig down you will find about a 3 inch tunnel I dig them out of the hay fields and put traps
I really enjoy going to Goodwill bins. But the pricing is different for clothes, $2.20 a pound, then there is wares, linens, glass, all different prices!! The binds are much deeper and they change out frequently.
You can buy mole traps. Be careful of them as the snap on your fingers major ouch! At our house in Southern Ca. the mole we had in our yard was a protected one so we could not trap them. At our Washington house we get them and they seem to come and go. We have over an acre and none at present.
I really enjoy going to the bins, but last time about a month ago I found very little and noticed that less inventory as the past. I think it's just the time of year, less donations. Also, I think there is some truth about closing some of the PA locations. They no longer have the Lancaster Outlet. I think Reading and Harrisburg is all that's left
I am a Mecari seller. I frequent the bins. Lately I have noticed less quality stuff in them. I have also experienced employees taking name brand items out of my cart and taking it back to the back room. I was told by someone in the know that they now have employees that go through the stuff before it goes on the floor to be sold on Goodwill auction sites and that's why they aren't rotating bins, and why the stuff in the bins is all broken crap.
Hi Taco. I bet you were very disappointed with the bins. But you found a few things better than nothing. I don’t have a bin store close to me but if I did I would go for sure. I stopped off at a thrift store today found a very cool old coffee mug with a train on . Plus a couple other things. Take care. PEACE. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️🥰🥰🥰🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
It's to bad that the Goodwill bins are so empty right now. I know it's fun for you. It was kind of weird that under the video I didn't have a thumbs up sign, only a number. It may be something you may want to check on. Have a good rest of your week.
Dang! you are getting a deal at the Bins. Our Bins charges $2.19 for the first 50 lbs then $1.79 over that. Hardgoods cost $1.19 lb. You scored some nice clothing!
I shop at that bins too lol.. I tried taking a picture last year of all the carts lined up FULL on the back wall and all of these girls started fighting with me. MADE me delete the picture then threatened me..
Grubs call animals that have fun with you. . Start early spring with grub ex. Then follow with castor oil. Check with your local extension service to see if you can use castor oil. Peace dear friend 🙏
