I can hear some "what a weird design" bingo there. I have some earlier version with cover support. I like how it looks and plays very nice as well. Thanks for posting a video it would be helpful if I got to reair it some day.
I have a Philips 777 turntable that is fully automatic. Even more complicated than this and all the mechanical parts seem underbuilt (after working on a Dual 1019). It works but sometimes gets out of sequence. I have one of these in the basement to fix. The switch on mine will not latch closed, there is a plastic plate that I pulled out that got worn out from use. I am going to try to repair it but there is a replacement switch available on ebay.

You would have had an easier time working on this if you became One with the table instead of projecting negative energy while you attempt to fix the machine. Glad you figured out how to turn it upside down to work on it too, shows progress....
