I love Samsung messenger, real dark mode, and all the customization you can do,resizing of font ( pinch to zoom ), it has RCS and the most important for me, schedule message.
I went back and forth on both of these messaging platforms and I love the fact that on Google messages you can react to messages and on Samsung I love that there is more customization as far as setting backgrounds for each contact and that you are able to mute individual conversations such as group chats that you don't want to be bugged by. Also Samsung messages let you see all pics and videos per chat instead of grouping them all together to dig thru like google messages. But Google does have the advantage of receiving more attention and updates than Samsung Messages
I went back to Samsung messages, and I miss having the reactions. But I feel it's better to use the device's native apps to get the full benefits of the device.
@juanmarti4671 I'm not sure. I didn't uninstall mine when I made the original switch to Google. And I don't see it in the Galaxy store. If you don't see it in your apps you might have to hit the Samsung Members app with that one. Good luck.
I want to start off by saying you did a great job with your comparisons of the two apps. I was using Samsung for years. I used on my S23 Ultra. When I switched to the S24 Ultra I decided to go with Google. I like the fact that with Google I could like messages using the emojis which something I could not do on Samsung. This made texting much more fun. It was like having imessage on a Samsung phone. If Samsung had the same features as the Google Message App, I would definitely use Samsung.
I prefer Samsung messages for 2 reasons. Dark mode is actually dark and Samsung quick share is integrated in the app. I can use the link sharing with 1 click texting iPhone or Android users. I've learned to live without RCS. Verizon doesn't allow rcs with Samsung messages.
How did you get those thumb ups to pop up after reacting to a message 1:58? You had like 3 big ones pop for a brief second. I just get the little thumbs up on the bottom right of a reaction. Also what are the extra icons you have in the typing area where it says TEXT also at 1:58? You have 4 & I only have 2 icons
Google messages RCS is not great ..I've sent pictures ..people don't even get them. Try sending 10 pictures at once ...it can't handle it ......not a fan of either
I prefer google messages because its looks way better than samsung messages plus it has more details too plus it also has spam protection and thats way better. Google Wins.
Great comparison. Very informative. I hope Samsung reconsiders scrapping their app in favor of Google's. It's part of their OneUI ecosystem which works well with their other apps and gives Samsung their own identity. OneUI gives the users a perspective that they are using a diffrent version of Android which is a refreshing experience. They just need to intergrated the rest of their apps into it for a much richer experience and keep building on it. If they go all in on Google apps, might as well tell your user base to get Pixels.
Samsung will eventually discontinue Samsung Messages and switch to Google Messages. That's only because of RCS. However, I don't think we'll lose other Samsung apps.
Lol yeah it is. But you should try out both and see which you like better since you're coming from the Apple people 😅🤣 Welcome to the dark side my friend lol. I'm loving my s23 ultra, I didn't think I would care so much about this little pen and all the extra hidden features this phone has but God damn the $1,300 was worth it lol. The camera on this thing is insane,I be taking pictures of the moon and I swear to God it's like I have a telescope. It's awesome!
When I first got my s23 ultra last year (my first high end Samsung phone btw) I tried Samsung messages but for some reason, it didn't work well with the PlayStation app. The PlayStation app kept freezing when I used that keyboard. So I switched back to Google messages and the g board keyboard and everything worked again flawlessly. I've been using Google messages for years now and I love it. Everything is saved and backed up. All my messages from years ago I have access to regardless of what phone I have and the phone I get next. As long as you have access to your Google account ofc. I just wish Google messages were more customizable 😢 but it's ok. Overall I'm happy with it😊
Literally the only thing missing from Google messages is the ability to create categories for your messages like how you can on Samsung messages. But I don't even know if Samsung messages is even supported anymore.
Samsung does not support RCS. Debate over. Without RCS you get constant "Dipshit liked that message" all day from people in group chats instead of an emoji.
@@mks-mobile The good news with that is, if you have an S24 model or greater, whichever texting app they integrate into their UI will also be updated with the phone you have, since we get the 7 years of updates.
I might be wrong, but if you have a carrier phone, it has to be enabled by the carrier. I have an unlocked phone. My unlocked Samsung Message App does not support RCS. This is one reason why I use Google.
I got a new Galaxy January 2023 and gave their Messages app a go then started using the google app. Samsung used to have a messaging app better than google so what happened? I can say the same thing for Samsung's phone app.
I use Google Messaging. I have texted a certain contact for years using RCS. I recently sent a message but it didn't go through. After several attempts, I tapped "Send SMS". I want that contact to be messaged with RCS but it continues to send SMS. I have turned on & off RCS in settings, turned on & off phone but it continues to send SMS messages. How do I get RCS messages with this contact back?
Does anyone know when Google messages will have edit a just sent message like Whatsapp? Also Annoying to have a small size text Box not adjustable size.
It's because Google Messages is better in RCS and spam. I'm not fully sure, but eventually Samsung will stop working on Samsung Messages at some point.
Yesterday Samsung messages started not working so I changed to Google messages default works great to me especially you can use the emoji reaction which is the same as Messenger app
@@mks-mobilethank you for your video. It's the best one I found so far. I get why this is being done, but it's a huge mistake and I hope Samsung strongly reconsiders on canceling one of their main apps in favor of Googles. Here's why; -. It blends in with OneUI and provides a more seamless experience. Samsung's OneUI makes the user feel that they are using a different version of Android, which makes it feel interesting and more importantly, gives Samsung it's own identity. -. It's well integrated with the other Samsung apps like Calendar, Notes, Contacts, as well as the Samsung Keyboard itself where you can get the most out of it's features. I was hoping that they would eventually include other apps like the Samsung Wallet and provide it's users a way to exchange currency if needed like Google does. That would be great. The Samsung Ecosystem. If Samsung is going out of their way to expand and strengthen their ecosystem, they need to keep all of their version of apps to appeal to the current and potential users. If they are going to use all Google apps by default, than it makes it pointless to have a Samsung device in the first place. You might as well get a Pixel, because different hardware look isn't enough.
I just got an s24+ in April. I upgraded from an s10+. I used samsung messages on the s10. after my s24 was activated and running samsung messages was on and the default app. it could be because I used the Samsung swap app? I've liked samsungs app, but Google has added some nice AI features that I think will only work on the Google app?
Maybe someone can help me out. I dont like message preview like you see in 2.20. With samsung i able to take that off but i cant find it in google messages. Anybody know how to take it off?
I prefer Google Messages but the only thing I wish they would implement that Samsung Messages has is the notification privacy settings where you can make messages just show the sender but the message content is hidden. I do also like the calendar feature to jump to messages that you showed too though.
Blurry images on MMS when sendt with Samsungs Messages is a problem, there's no setting to set the compression level in the app. It's just lousy overall and ruins the images.
I use Google messages For groupchat whenever I wanna add people to a group it creates a separate group instead of adding them to the current group why is that Are messages encrypted. Is this app safe and secure to use. If not are there any other secure messaging apps to use Is there a way to reply to a specific person in a group. Like if you only wanna respond to one person
