Thanks Daniel, clear and useful videos. I have a number of devices hooked up through Google Home... five weeks ago I went to buy a Nest Hub as I wanted constant voice control (as opposed to pulling out my phone all the time.) They were out of stock, and as the salesman was someone I trusted after previous good advice, I let him talk me into an Amazon Echo Show 8, because "It is better supported". Bad move! It works very well, but as I am so heavily invested in the Google regime, I only added complication and frustration! Grrrrr! Today, I finally gave in and went to buy the only Google Nest Hub they had managed to get in stock. As the Dipstick went to hand it to me, HE DROPPED IT! Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhh!! It was probably OK, but with the corner of the box all caved in, he got to keep it, and I am in "On Hold" mode. 🥴
Thanks Daniel, I love the reveal of saving recipes for quick recall. I do have a question. Is there a way to rearrange the apps in the shortcut line. There are a few (like Slack) that I would like to remove and add some that I use regularly to the shortcut row.
Hi! Can this reminder out loud of the appointments I have set on google calendar. So If I set a dentist appointment with a days notice , I want it to verbally announce out loud Dentist appointment a day head of time. Will it do this?
Hi i got couple of questions 1.i don't know why my hub is so laggy even touching something takes like 3 sec to react.voice command are slow as well 2.when i make shopping list is don't go to my phone.i am using same email on both devices. 3.if i ask home to send direction to my phone it say this is not available.i don't know how to connect my phone with hub i am using same id in hub be ome and my phone
Great video! is there a way I can have the hub performa routine at specific time and days? Id like my goodmorning routine to play every Thursday- Saturday at a specific time
Yes you can, I just discovered that! But to make it work, you need to create a brand new routine, the preset ones doesn't have that option. Then under condition you can add a time or sunrise sunset. Hope it helped you.
@@rosspeterson2658 hmm I don't really know what you're talking about. But to make it work, go into the Google Home app, then to routines, create a new routine, then go to add a starting option and select time, then just set the time and day you want.
You have to sign into your account on your nest hub. But what if everyone in the house want to use and control lights , thermostat and view door bell camera alerts? How do you manage the sign ID if you are sharing the nest hub?
You Set it up to recognize Different Voices (I Believe It Can Do 5 Different Voices /Profiles) It Will Identify Who Is Talking Too It &Use Content Specific To That Person
Also ¥øu Actually Don't "Sign Into" The NestHub Like ¥øu Would.. Say, Facebook. ¥øu Instead Link Your Google Accounts Together Using Google Home. -Home- Is Designed Too: - Set Up "Familys" (Linking Google Profiles Together) - Set Up Different Rooms. By Integrating Bunches Of Different Brand Smart Devices Together Seamlessly. - & Set Up ₩hat Are Called "Rules" Where ¥øu Can Execute Multiple Commands On Various Devices Simultaneously (Or However You Want Really) Using A Word /Or/ Phrase /Or/ Even A Gesture I Think The Nest HUB Is Just An Extention Of Google Home (Used Too Curate The Rules You SetUp &Too Use / Access Google Assistant)
You can create a family or group google email account and everyone uses the same password to control devices. Or you can invite them using their own email under settings to be added into your goggle home
Hello, I have set up my hub but when I add items to shopping it opens with Glist and not google keep. I have it set to work with google keep and it works if I manually add an item but not via the voice assistant, any ideas why?
HI, very good explination. I also like the display. Since last week I have 2 mini's speakers and I am unhappy, that they are not able to play a song I am asking for :-( When i ask my display to play for example: OK Google play the song "like a prayer from Madonna" then the display play the song, but the mini speakers responds that this is only possible with an you tube premiun account :-( Can you explain, why it works on the display but not on the mini ? Thanks in advance! Merry Christmas and a happy new year!!
Because If ¥øu Don't Have RU-vid Premium Then ¥øu Have Too Have RU-vid Open On A Device Too Play The Video (Like How ¥øu Can't Turn Off ¥øur Phone Screen &Still Listen Too A Video Without Premium) Try Pandora Or Spotify..
How did you get it to play your country's radio station? I'm on the states, but from Ireland and I would like it to play stations or podcasts from Irish radio stations, or an app that will do this?
trying so hard to find this info. Elderly mom does not have cellphone. How to set it up with either my cellphone or she does have an ipad. Since so many buy this for their elderly, who often don't have a cellphone, this would be so helpful.
Anyone’s casting not working right I go to cast and it constantly is glitching out pulling up the play pause buttons every few seconds can’t find a fix for this
Not sure if this comment has already been made, but at 1:40 you don’t need to say “Hey Google, stop” you can just say “Stop” when the timer is going off.
Really good video, I learnt a lot. First big question, I'm looking to get a hub for my bedroom mainly as an bed side close and assistant for that room. Is there any way to not have the screen on all day long? Seems a waste of energy when I'm out the house. Also how on earth did you get global player? I can't find that service on chromecast! I appreciate your explanation of how to set routines, that was pretty straight forward 👍🏻
@@lea-ou8qx I've got both a hub in my bedroom and a hub max in kitchen, if I say google screen off it turns the screen off, I'm pretty happy with both of them ☺
I can't figure out how to dismiss a repeating reminder using my voice once it's been shown to me. It always wants to cancel them instead. But since my reminders are repeating, I don't want to cancel, just dismiss it until next time. It's easy to do this from the notifications shade, but I want to do it by voice. Does anyone know how?
An Simple way off the top of my head would be Just Turn The Reminder Off Then Back On with your voice It would require couple extra words.. Or See If ¥øu Can set Up A Simple Rule Too Go Too The Home Page Or Something.. Or Open APP Like RU-vid Or Something See if that Dismisses It (Or Have ¥øu Tried "Google - Dismiss Reminder -Name- /or/ Dismiss -Name- /or/ Dismiss Repeated Reminder /or/ Stop Further Reminders -For- Today (this week?)
I know, This is a bad disadvantage of Google Home over Alexa, Alexa responds much faster and prioritizes spoken responses, and Google Assistant most of the times prefers not to speak and just show the results on the screen, and if I tell her to read it out loud, no way, very frustrating
