Not to excited about the Pixel 6 Pro. I just received 2 yesterday, one for my wife one for me. The 4x telephoto lens is not being used at all in the video on either of our devices. I posted a video on my channel recording the problem happening.
i wish camera focused reviews like this would mention that 2x is a digital zoom from the main sensor. which is why when he switches from 2x to 4x you get that jerky switch as it switches from digital zoom to the actual 4x lens. would have also been cool to see some gimbal shots, some shots with the moment lenses, also maybe using filmic pro to show some 24fps footage. but not really mad at the video. looks good.

been waiting for this! the quality of the video has really improve a lot compared to the pixel 4 and 5 last year. the depth of field is noticeable having a larger camera sensor and the stabilization has been better comparing to the last genetation pixel's. i think the quality of the video the pixel 6/6 pro produce is now at least comparable to iphone.
When I saw some other reviews, I was a bit disappointed but seeing this it looks pretty good and I know moment lenses can be used on the 1x lens for tele, wide and even macro so judging from that stand point this new pixel is pretty awesome
You can go macro close with the 4x lens :) ALso the 4x is Amazing for portrait shots! (not portrait mode crap). Honestly, most reviewers this year just dont know anything about cameras. 1 dude took all photos and videos on the 2x mode instead of 4x and called it the "telephoto" lmao. RU-vid "pixel 6 pro julia" she is a great photographer testing out the pixel 6 pro :)
I played around with a 6 Pro at a Best Buy and man have they really upped their game when it comes to video. It’s not iPhone level obviously but it’s reached that ballpark. So happy pixels camera has become all around stronger and better.
how? the pixel pro has better ois, bokeh, and colors. Also has better telephoto lens sharpness. It already has surpassed the iphone but people aren't just ready to accept that.
Yeah, the title was misleading, but I'm glad there was no comparison to iPhone in the actual video. This is exactly what I've been looking for: evaluate the camera on its own, and how does it perform?
Been life long iphone user and just got the pixel 6. ITS AMAZING. Love it in every aspect and way. Had all the iphone till iphone 13. Now fully pixel lover. All my family use iphone and I just love the change. Love the material look and love the fact it's not PERFECT. We live in a world where we want things to be spot on and always working and always doing what we ask. That seeking has made us weak. It's made us complaisant and weak minded. Pixel 6 is not perfect but I don't want it to be. I love the pixel character and more so it's just fun and simple. It's amazing price and love the screen and most of all love google 12.
The panning of it (which maybe gets remedied with cinematic pan) was a bit iffy but my goodness its stablization is actually really great. That gives a lot of potential to it more than people want to give it credit. This thing will probably be incredible on a gimbal and I concur, I am pretty disappointed there is no 24p but I don't see why that can't be updated. Please GOOGLE add it!!! If they really want this phone to take a good piece of the market, Google better be making a flurry of improvement updates because the majority of flaws of this phone look like they can be fixed with software. It'll make for such a grossly surreal value. The superior translation elements and improved speech-to-text will make my life (and job) easier in a way other phones don't come close to providing right now. I'm sad they didn't use a better ultrawide but it doesn't deter from the fact I'll be buying a Pixel at such a good price (and lol maybe getting a Moment case once they showcase it along with their lenses).
Great Video! Any chance you could show us how the Pixel 6 Pro performs with the Moment lenses ? Super interested in how the gold anamorphic + filters hold up
Pixel 3xl review was awesome but here the pixel 6 review could have been better. I hope u make a video of pixel6 with portraits, nightshots, wide angle shots etc
Especially the telephoto (but all of them as well). Their site claims possible vignette with some lenses, which would imply a bad case design on their part. But I would like to see if the tele on the primary lens would be viable.
I did not buy a Moment case this time, but I probably will next time. I love the Spigen cases, but if I had known Moment supported Magsafe, I would have bought one of yours instead. It's literally the only Apple feature I envy. 2:20 - The Pixel 6 Pro does support 60fps on the FFC. But only to 1080p.
I think out of all the latest phones that came out in the last month or two this phone right here has some of the most natural looking colorsand I love it
@@4jup4ter4 The phone will be popular enough I already pre-ordered the black one but I'm tempted to cancel the order in hopes that they bring in color options
Would be nice to have a comparison between pixel and iphone 13 with moment lenses (including anamorphic) and non-native app (moment pro or filmic) That’ll give us full picture of what maximum can be taken from these two devices. Thanks in advance
What speed is this video's native timeline? There's some visible frame judder in your samples and I'm wondering if it's an artifact of framerate mismatch between the source and output, or if it's intrinsic to the cameras themselves. Does the original video exhibit this to your eye?
I notice in several of the panning shots some jitter/jumpiness....not buttery smooth as I would have expected. Is this present in your raw footage, or just an aspect of editing/youtube conversion?
can you guys start doing some videos with these phones and the lenses - very curious to see the 14mm on it and how it compares to the built in wide. thanks.
Maybe you could choose a natural display color profile under the display settings. I remember that option was available in Pixel 4 XL, not sure if they removed it.
The thing that surprised me the most about their improvement to video is the audio. Pixels and Nexus devices have been HISTORICALLY terrible when it comes to audio in video. When I say terrible, I mean literally every device Google has backed has had the absolute worst audio you can find in video on a smartphone. Now? It’s better than the audio in video on iPhones. A few updates and these Pixels may be some the best to release this year.
Hey, do you have knowledge about the sony Xperia 1 iii. It's audio was praised so much for being better than samsung and iphones. People were saying it's most likely to take LG's place fkr audiophiles Do you think it's better than the Google.
@@maheenm.k1015 I don’t have a lot of experience with Sony’s Xperia line other than playing around with a few demos at Best Buy. What I do know is that their fairly underrated in their photo and video capabilities. Imo, Sony doesn’t support or promote their devices long enough. I can’t say whether they’re better or worse than what Google offers but they’re worth taking a look at.
first: i love your videos - and what u are able to capture with phones! it´s incredible! Would u recommend the pixel 6 as a smartphone for photos and videos (i dont play games or anything else) in this price range up to 500 Dollars? best regards from austria
The video from this phone looks amazing except I do notice a little bit of a stuttering effect to motion, for example the train near the end. It may just be the because of the high shutter speeds or could it be occasional frame drops?
While watching this video, i got completely distracted by the chiefs hat he was wearing. Guess I could send some merch his way. On another note, i've had every pixel that has been released and whole the 5 was the most disappointing, I'm definitely going to get this one and try it with the moment lenses. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the video. I purchased the Google Pixel 4 based on Moment. Will Moment be releasing cases and lenses for the Pixel 6? There's just too much Apple and not enough support for Pixel phones. Moment love Apple way to much 😄
@@GodGunsGills I have the Pixel 4 & awaiting the Pixel 6 (not the pro version). I have had various brands of mobiles in the past, Pixel is the only one that hasn't faulted. Just to note, you can only cast your device to Chromecast.
Can you please compare a Pixel 4 with the moment telephoto lens VS a Pixel 6 Pro 4x telephoto? I have been able to get similar zoomed in footage with the pixel 4 + the moment telephoto lens! Also, why there is not a cut out for moment lenses available on the pixel 6 pro telephoto lens? Thank you in advance! Great content as always!
The new 4k60 HDR, I understand that's only available on the primary sensor. If I choose to shoot in 4k30 all round across each lens does it also shoot in HDR on all lenses?
@@manaspradhan8041 I think if I play it on my LG OLED it won't activate HDR logo that should appear in the top right corner. On the other hand when I play videos from my wife's iphone 12 pro max it does appear and looks stunning. My 6 pro should arrive shortly and I'll do an in-house comparison as far as video quality is concerned.
@@boban61 googled it, looks to be standard hdr and not marketing bs. They're also claiming to be better than iphones because they don't artificially brighten shadows
It looks like you had some frame rate mismatches in editing. Many of the shots (especially slow pans) have poor motion quality (pulsing). Besides that, the video looks good. Can't wait for my P6 to arrive.
Idk who else notices this but there is a noticeable stutter on the Pixel 6 videos. I was really hoping this year we would get equal or greater video capabilities than Iphone.
Honestly, video on pixels are fine, like normal people don’t record videos more then 30sec, professionals shoot on professional equipment. Pixels vs iPhone video recording war is pointless discussion. It’s like adidas vs Nike they are both fine
You can't be more worng , as a photographer and a film maker taking all the equipment is hard need a lot of space and stuff. If my phone can do 30% of my equipment I will be able to go to nice places without a camera and a lens. Much more easier
@@itt-itamartechtime8867 it’s a phone not a camera to be relying on if you are professional photographer. It’s like wedding photographer bringing an iPhone to do wedding shots. I would say carry both pixel and iPhone that way no regrets
With my testing my phone is not using the 4x lens at all in video.... I covered the 4x lens with a sticky note and when zoomed in even with the lens covered it still shows until you cover the standard lens. FYI I have two Pixel 6 pro's and both do not ever activate the 4x zoom while in video even when zooming in as far as you can. If you don't believe me I am uploading a video showing the problem on my channel.
Can you guys do a review on the new Xperia PRO-l? Would love to hear your feedback on this particular phone. Possibly see what Moment has in store for the new Xperia
I bought the P6PRO along with moment case + CPL filter. But having this total weight of around 300+grams, I'm finding it difficult to get a decent gimbal with an app to shoot cinematic videos. Either the gimbals for mobile phones are with lower payload or those with higher payload isn't really meant for mobile phones. Just wondering if u have any suggestions as I cant find much RU-vidrs doing a clip with pixel phones + gimbal
I mean there is a fantastic midrange phone market out there, like the Pixel 'a' line. They're just not as exciting so people don't talk about em as much
It has such a smooth transition between lenses that you can do some very nice stuff in video. It also has a little more natural stabilisation. The Pixel is ok especially considering how it used to be. Just need to do things differently as that transition from the main lens to zoom is quite noticeable
@@RennieAsh its not just the smooth transition iPhone video has stunning dynamic range and superb colours and its low light video is noise free *iPhone can go madness with dynamic range and colours with HDR 10 bit with Dolby vision up to 4k 60 fps *ProRes video recording loseless * iPhone all lens can do 4k 60,24 ,25,etc wide ,telephoto, ultrawide front cam ,still 6 pro can't
@@RennieAsh too much niose reduction 😳😳 Even iphone has super natural stabilization, they even prefer hand movement rather than pixel and samsung that looks more stable but has lot of jitters, and also has soft details because thsy treis for aggressive stabilization,... In in night time both pixel and samsung video are just a mess
@@busybee2148 I wasn't talking about stabilisation. You realise it's possible to criticise one aspect of a device without "being against the entire thing"?
@@barrysrobbins Any potato camera from 2013 can do that. The real challenge is to not blow out the rear. :) That's the whole.point of mult exposure, an iPhone wouldn't do as poorly because it take multiple exposures to compose a single frame of a video.
