I have also upgraded to Pixel 7 from my 4a on this BBD. I would agree with you on a lot of things. Although I miss the form factor of 4a which I used for almost 3 years, I can say that Pixel 7 has definitely enhanced my Pixel experience.

What I have found is if you switch the mobile data to LTE over 5G, a lot of the efficiency issues go away. I have had all 3 generations of Tensor Pixels and this is how I have used them all.

I got a Pixel 7 when my Pixel 4A's EoL approached, my observations of around half a year usage: The lack of headphone jack hurts. I still push my finger on the back for fingeprints by habit. The camera bar gathers dust and dirt easily. Overheating was a literal pain in the early days, now it's not a problem. You're right about it guessing your thoughts. The newest update introduced a suggestion to enable Wi-Fi calling (I know it existed before) but I toggled it since the phone recommended it. It's a lifechanger. The photo editing features like the smart eraser are fun party tricks. It has some seriously loud speakers. For quick photo taking: pull out of pocket, doublepress power button, and your're good to go, it's noticeably faster than the 4A where the photo app lagged just enough for the subject of the photo to disappear. Overall for Pixel users I recommend it. It got over it's teething problems and is now a stable and perfectly usable phone with some nice "AI" gimmicks.

how did you get the white balance, exposure and shadow slider on preview? after updating to pixel camera 9.2 they moved in the buttom part of ui. which doesnt feel so comfortable. so let me know how did you get on screen

I don't normally comment on youtube. I had the pixel 7 with android 14. Screen kept on going night vision green when streaming netflix or Disney+. After many factory resets it kept on happening (alot of complaints of my issue on reddit also). Ended up selling it and going back to oneplus.

can you tell us more about connectivity issues......as in almost all the reviews of pixel this is issue is mentioned.......like suddenly changing connection from 5g to 4g...also not getting proper network etc......where other budget phones performs better in such situation.

i use pixel 7 pro advantages clean software experiencen (no forced trash apps) feels premium display is superb for the price range of 70k ( now still 5k reduced for this year) camera ( though i don't use much, but the processing is unmatched) google assistant is best ( most used voice command ' switch off the alaram') i love curve display disadvantages heating problem finger print recognition is slow or not able to identify 50% of time heavy in weight initially it had problem with c type wired earphones. but it is optimized and working properly. still some times it pauses the video. i use Vodafone sim-card. initial call connect is not proper. i need to drop and recall. this happens often.

GSM Arena has rated the battery life of the Pixel 8 just under 90 hours. Even the Pixel 6a is better. Will these battery saving tricks vastly improve the device's battery life? Will it easily help me get just over a day use and between 5-6 hours of screen on time minus playing games or non stop streaming or navigation?

Overheating during video recording/video call has been an issue since original pixel. Phone becomes unusable after 20 minutes of camera usage. I have used a pixel 2 before and it always had overheating issue during video call. Otherwise the phone is great especially the software, iphones are too bland and other android phones don't really use all the smart features but pixel always shines in this area. My favorite feature is that it can detect songs playing in the background without you doing anything.

Which charger should we use with this ? Apple 20W charger ? Mi 22.5 W charger ? Samsung charger ?

Only 5.5-6 hours screen on time on wifi is really bad. I'd hate to see what it is on mobile data.

I regret buying a GOOGLE Product. I won't recommend pixel devices to anyone. Just got the pixel 7 on 13th July 2024 and my device has a green tint issue from the very first day. After contacting flipkart about the issue they asked me to got to the service centre where the service advisor told me that they'll be sending the phone to Noida and the whole process would take around 15days. My point here is that It is not mentioned anywhere on flipkart or google that their service would take these many days. Pathetic service by google and flipkart. Won't recommend anyone to buy a pixel device. Rather go for Apple if you need better after sales service in future.

As a heavily disappointed Google Pixel 7 Pro user I won't recommend Pixels to anyone because of the very same reasons the OP mentioned here. Come on a 75K phone won't work properly on 5G and heats up like a hotbox even when doing basic Instagram surfing. Phone temperature exceeding notifications are more than my regular notifications. So, you can imagine my situation here. BTW I am not even a heavy user. Just a casual user with occasional Camera user. That's it. But Pixel 7 Pro not even doing those basic tasks without making me frustrated. So a BIG NO for pixels from my end. Except Camera that too excluding Videos, this phone is waste of money I say. Just for pure hard core Pixel fans.
