Honestly its about real world use. There is no way Google has caught up to to snapdragon, especially since Snapdragon has been at it for awhile. SO much of these are app specific. I went from Galaxy to Pixel a couple years ago. Samsung bloats their phones up too much always has since my first galaxy S back in 2010. they have come a long way with their UI. They have optimized their UI pretty well over the years. The first few years were absolutely horrible and laggy. Always been a fan of the more vanilla Android experience

I noticed the iphone 15 pro max is super choppy on the rumble app. rumble feed when scrolling, FB should be better optimized as well. the 120hrz on s21 ultra i tried was smoother on certain applications. im sure with ios updates will be better...s23 ultra seems like a great phone.

I thought it was just me, I now own both the 15 pro max and the pixel 8 pro now and the iPhone feels so slow, I'm not sure if its an iOS 17 thing but it feels slower on almost every app, they really need to fix it because I prefer the iPhone as I own almost all the whole apple ecosystem but the iPhone is pretty show and glitchy as of late, I experienced this on the 14 pro max as well.

For an under dog the pixel is over impressing to me... Remember the pixel has two addition chips on its board and not even the A17 bionic chip could run the onboard AI models used in the on device image processing for the pixel photo magic and language model, and also the security chip that makes pixel security impregnable making it the most secure and smartest smartphone in the industry

Really considering getting the Pixel 8 Pro. Have the S23U and I'm loving it. Was previously an iPhone user too. Something the P8P has whivh really grabs me is how it's all seamlessly google. Compared to the S23U where i have duplicate apps and some conflictions or With apple i was with them for 7 years and wanted to get away from the wall they have, so with Google being multi platform as they're about services rather than the phone, i wonder if being completely google is the way go with to make that easier. Also love their aesthetic with the software

I am very impressed of how responsive pixel is, google made a very good job this year but there is just a little catching up to do. Imagine if their chip was fast as snapdragon uff. Come on google you are almost there. Maybe in couple of years they will get the job done.

Coming from my 4,5 year old Oneplus 7 Pro, the Pixel 8 Pro does NOT feel faster, maybe a little bit. I also done some app opening tests side by side an they are trading blows. The choppy scrolling really bothers me tbh, not too sure if i should keep the phone or get back to my Oneplus until the S24 Ultra comes out. Really love the software though on the Pixel, just as i did on my Oneplus. I dont know why, but im a little afraid of the Samsung UI. Also, i like big phones, but 6,7" is really enough for me, the S23U looks just like a brick next to the Pixel. Google really has to bring some updates to make some apps like RU-vid, X, ... smoother. They really should have used UFS 4.0, im confident it would have helped quiet a bit on performance an battery life.

I made the same switch recently and I'm currently debating whether to return the phone or wait for an update to hopefully address the scrolling issue. I've seen that Google claims to have fixed it in the android 14 QPR1 Beta 2.1 but that's not available for the pixel 8 pro at the moment. My main complaints are the scrolling issue paired with mediocre battery performance on data due to the inefficient modem. My OnePlus 7 Pro was running YAAP and performed great, the main reasons I made the switch was due to battery life not lasting me a day and the fact that OnePlus software support had ended for the device (even though the custom ROM community seems to still be very active). When scrolling side by side, the OnePlus seems to be consistently smoother (though Reddit is definitely the worst optimised app which seems to lag on every android device). I don't want to settle for a device with flaws especially at this price range. I'm considering the S24U but I just don't like One UI. To me, stock android is a much cleaner operating system and I'd love to enjoy it on a device that features it natively. Shame Google is still trying to make their tensor chips work...

@@-GS- Pixel 8 Pro prices in Europe are off the rails. The Pixel costs 1.150 euros here in the Netherlands for the 256 GB version. I got the S23U at launch with preorder bonus Buds 2 pro and free upgrade to 512GB for the same price.

Man in person zi legit prefered the pixel 8 pro. I dont like the direction samsung is goinf with colors either. They use brightness to pump colors and its ruining the richer deeper colors that I love.

I was excited to get the 8 pro until I seen it shipped with USF 3.1 speeds from 2022, unlike all 2023 flagships that had USF 4.0-4.1 speeds which the galaxy here proves is much faster and can handle multitasking better. Googles hardware team needs to stop relying on Ai and give us updated hardware for the year being, 7 years of OS updates is nice but not if your phone can’t even keep up with time. I’m getting the s24 ultra when it drops

fingerprint sensor speed is pretty much the same, its the accuracy meaning you don't have to hold down your finger, convenience like you don't need to turn on the display to unlock and more secure than older finger prink tech. This 3 things is where ultra sonic excels with just one drawback ultra sonic sucks more battery life but i don't think it matters that much.

No it won't. The S24 Ultra will be exclusively 8 Gen3 globally. It won't have an Exynos version. The S24 and S24 Plus will have Exynos and Snapdragon chips as per region though.

Have you experienced any bugs with the pixel? When it comes to RAM management mine kills apps in the background randomly after a few hours, not using heavy apps like games, normal light apps and it still kills them for some reason, this shouldn't happen on a phone with 12GB of RAM

I don't really care much about benchmark tests. If one phone opens an app 1/4 of a second faster than another, WHO CARES!! I'm not going to miss my bus because I had to wait 1/4 second for an app to open. My preference is the Pixel 8 Pro (which I purchased) because Google makes Android and they are more capable of optimizing software to hardware and SEVEN (7) years of OS and security updates!

@@Ti.a409 Ok I will give you that one. But how many new Pixels failed right out of the box? Every one of them. There is always an issues with them. I mean every generation. And that is one of the reasons why apple holds its value the longest. The other is for more privacy. And this is coming from an android user myself. I am really disappointed in Google. They have law suites after law suites over the privacy issue they impose. And that is why I went to iPhone. Not just for more privacy but quality. And for the life of me I don't know why people think that Google is the Androids apple.

paying over 1k€ for a phone thats clearly choppy in a lot of apps while scrolling (Pixel) has to be a joke. Even the P7P had this issue which never got a treatment from google ( had also the same SoC)

Snapdragon 8 gen2 + UFS 4.0 in the S23U just kills the pixel. Don't understand why google went with old UFS 3.1 lol a flagship with a flagship price needs to have the best specs, period. I won't buy a pixel until they have an equivalent SoC to the best ones in the market, the fastest storage etc

This feels like the most biased vs I've ever seen. "samsung is just a hiar better". The ish was almost always same time. The geek bench tests were obvious and talked about before official release. So no arguments there. And whenever it was OBVIOUSLY faster on pixel you go "maybe faster than the samsung". You mad funny G. Do better.

You don’t have to listen to my picks, just turn the audio down and pick which you think is opening first I’m looking at 2 phones through a camera while monitoring audio for the video I am bound to miss a couple G.

The s23 ultra is far superior with the s pen gestures and utilization when my fingers get tired and for family photos from a distance Samsung health , Samsung flow , Dex, Samsung TV, wireless projection, 10 x zoom, emulator gaming way beyond the competition like iOS expensive gaming with the best thermal management superior multi tasking with exclusive edge panel up to 3 apps at a time , superior in screen fingerprint scanner etc. My s23 ultra is the phone champion on 2023 Pixel 8 pro has impressive Al and I have Massive respect for what Google has done but the s23 ultra is still the superior device and it has better battery Also Samsung makes all displays and has best display
