I am the original voice of Google Voice (yes even the start-up before it was technically Google Voice) and this is probably the best explanation I've heard of the system (I even learned a lot:) Thank you!
Is there any way I can forward my office landline number to Google voice on my mobile phone? My office phone is with the Xfinity networking. My cell phone is with Verizon Network. How can I achieve that so that when I make phone calls from my cell phone to my clients, on my client's end, it will show my office number instead of my cell phone numbers? Thank you very much!
The only way to achieve this would be to move your number to Google voice. You could setup a divert for incoming calls and hide your caller ID for outgoing calls but in order for the office number to appear when dialling out from Google voice you would need to transfer it or port the number to Google voice permanently. This would mean you would move away from Xfinity.
How does the call appear on your cell that comes through Google Voice as a transfer? Just the number or does it let you know its coming in from Google Voice and therefore a business related call vs. personal to your cell?
Hi thanks for the overview. Quick question. On the free google voice you can only set your voicemail by recording your own voice. In Google Voice for business, can I upload professional business mp3 greeting?
I’ve used Voice for more than ten years. All I need it to do is ring my home phone and my cell phone when someone calls my GV #. After years of successful use, as of now it does neither. My cell (plus “web” and iPads) is listed as a device and both my cell and home #s are linked. Under call forwarding, my home #is there. My cell # doesn’t appear as an option. How can I make both of these phones ring? Currently I can only receive calls on my iPads!
Google has launched some of its Voice features in Australia. Gmail users in Australia can now download a plug-in to use Google Voice features to make landline and mobile calls from within their Gmail account. Calls to landlines within Australia are priced at US$0.02 per minute, and calls to mobiles US$0.14 per minute. Hope that helps!
I can't follow the total approach to move all IT, Data storage into a distant cloud, no matter what type of. But history (and presence) has shown that wires may be cut or IP blockage may be anabled. If so, the company is dead...
That's why we always recommend for companies to back up their data using a tool like AFI! Watch the following on AFI ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UiZYy-146_0.html
Hi. Do you know if the Google business phone texting service the same as the personal google phone texting service? I am looking for more texting features such as bulk texting, blind copy texting?
Can explain more about when you add a user? FOr example, I want there to be a number that a client can text (555-5555 for example). But, I want my employees to be able to respond to that text. Is this possible or no because the users each have a different google voice number and would need to be texted directly?
I want the same. I want the ability to have a customer text the Google voice number , and have either myself or my employee text it back so it’s almost like a shared text but customer thinks they are texting one business phone
Hi AJ, It is a telephony service rather than a text service for the most part. You cannot do group texting. There are texting options available in the USA but not outside. Hope that helps!
i have recently become president of a large hobby group. The voice feature is handy for providing callers updated with our current activities. Is there a way for outgoing calls on the Google number to be identified by the group name vs my personal name?
Hi Kenneth, hopefully these videos can help: How to change your caller ID on Google Voice ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9h-aiyprNqY.html How to set up ring groups on Google Voice ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qcTK6PREYXU.html
Yes if Google find a listing for the business it will show up that name when the person calls you or if you have saved their number into your contacts. - Fintan
