The card you recommended does NOT work well with the Hero 10. Twice I've had an 'SD Error' and lost tons of footage... Saw some other videos on RU-vid claiming that they had the same issue with this card. not saying GoPro isn't to blame here, but still - this is NOT the best card for the latest GoPro's.
@@baloux kept the same card, stoped using the quick recording function (when you hit the record button when the camera is still off…). That plus GoPro updating the software has seemed to solve the issue.
yes exactly.. people will get furious that their gopro doesn't work and then you find out they are using a little sd card from 10 years ago ... I think that is why gopro was trying to sell one with the bundle so that most people won't have that problem
haha ... ya I would get a lot of "hate" from people who click on the video and didn't get the instant information they clicked on, and I know don't cater to the haters, but this I just couldn't resist.. :D .. gracias for watching Cami :)
More yters like you please, came found the info I needed in under 4 min and you gave me a lol 2 thanks for taking the time to make that, I’m off to the shops to get one now.
@@DannyBlack I will be posting a new comedy clip in the days to come just for you. I usually don’t post standup clips, because I worry people won’t come see me in person if they see my act online.
In fixed memories, the information that we put there must not exceed 70% of the capacity in order to extend the card's useful life. In other words, a movie recorded in 2.7K on a 64GB memory card should not exceed 80 minutes of recording. (1GB = 1.8 minutes in 2.7K).
The card is formatted like in a video in gopro hero 9 for a few hours. When folded on a computer, it is not readable by gopro. Have you had problems installing this card?
Okay. That’s interesting. How long after the you start recording does it get hot? I actually haven’t owned the 8 before. So I’m not sure I can help, but hopefully someone else might know what’s going on. You can always try to factory reset the gopro… turn off the WiFi and gps
Do you still feel this is the best card? I’m pretty sure I’m getting the GoPro 9 but if I wait a week and want to spend more money I can get the 10. Ugh. I want to order a memory card. Do you recommend this one or another. Don’t care if it cost a little more. Sandisk? Samsung? That one that’s starts with L. Can’t think of it’s name. Thank you
My GoPro arrived 45 minutes ago with a smaller SanDisk 32GB Extreme. So I just ordered a 128GB Extreme on Amazon and it delivered to me within 20 minutes or less. I was shocked. Now I’m watching this, learning there is an “Extreme Pro”is there any huge difference between the extreme and the extreme pro? It looks like they have all the same numbers on them.
aw i hate when that happens! however i dont think you will notice to much of a difference between the extreme and the extreme pro, the pro will be good if you are doing a lot of heavy hit bitrate videos for long periods of time. thanks for stopping by Tiffany!!
I really appreciate fast and very informative video. You have high intelligence it’s compliment from gentleman to gentlemen. Based my decision on your video. Best of luck and be Well.
Aw thanks! This was a fun video to make. Almost like a challenge to try and take a boring topic and make it entertaining 😆 so thanks so much for the compliment 😎👍
Thanks so much! I freaked as my GoPro9 just stopped working. Bad SD card which brought up new lessons. Your video was really helpful. I use 128 for the same reason that you explained. The extra nerdier knowledge is helpful too!
hi Katrina thanks for writing :) so sorry about your bad sd card, but yea sd cards can fail, which is why I never liked that idea of getting such a big expensive one when you can get smaller ones for a better price!
yes, i watched the vid till the end. and what i have to say about it: it would be a smarter choice to just clarify the differences in SD cards.. there are just SO MANY of them! this video could not even relate to gopro hero 9 but for every device in need of a fast write speed micro SD card the image at 2:57 is golden for me
Thanks for the comment. To be honest I thought this video was only going to get like 500 views at most lol but ya I did my best to research it all but you are right there are soooooooo many out there . Thanks again for stopping by
Haha well I’m glad I could help. I had to do my research cause I’m not like super super techy .. but nice to know the info got passed easily :) thanks for the comment
Sandisk iv had troubles with ..but kingstone no problems whatsoever ..some arse will argue about that but its happened to a couple of buddies too . So i use kingstone in my d850s also great .. everyone blows smoke up sandisk's ass untill they fail
I'm using a lexar 1000x 128 gb micro sdxc II u3 .. everything is super crisp and plays back fine... But sometimes I find a small lag in my videos or a little choppiness ... Would you recommend your sd card over mine ?
Okay so I hope you read this, firstly I wanna thank you for the video. So I’ve got a go pro hero nine black and I want to constantly record when I’m on my motorcycle if I’m doing around an hour to 2 hours but with multiple batteries which is the best Sd card to get
hi David.. so sorry for the late reply, I have been sick! so typically every 10 mins is 4 gb so for every hour its 24 gb... 48gb for 2 hours. so you should be good with 64 gb - 128 gb. just to be safe
Thanks for your video! I liked the X-file theme and stories in the content. haha By the way, in general, how much time are you spending on 1) Preparation before shooting, 2) Shooting footage, and 3) editing the footage. I am just curious to know how much time is spent for a 4-minute video from "having an idea" to "posting it on RU-vid". Thanks!
Thanks for noticing the xfiles thing :) it was a funny add I made last minute in that. So I can put an exact time to the whole process because some videos take longer to make than others. I will say that 30 mins of writing out a storyboard / script saves a lot of time editing through babbling.
@@DannyBlack, thanks for your reply! I think you are absolutely correct about planning your shoot using a storyboard. If I make the story in my head and not "upload" it to a piece of paper, I get super confused! Once it is on a piece of paper, it is easy to see it myself.
Oh ya, I used to “wing it” and it would turn into a puzzle piece to put together to make sense .... ever since I story board it (I don’t draw out my shots, just write it out) it’s made my videos much better and easier to edit
Hey, there's a brand of SD card called "ShanDian" same specs of a very similar brand for a fraction of the price any way to do a comparison video, would be pretty funny to find the same product under a different name 😂
Haha that would be interesting although one thing that would need the most testing on it is it’s longevity. Could you imagine if I was like “hey this one works” and then someone used it and their card broke with all their footage on it (they would hate me forever) but it would be worth a try still :)
yea absolutely glad you did that. I have had a card die in the past (still all good with this card) but that card died and I was so mad I didn't have 2 instead because I had no extra card where I was and couldn't get the shot I wanted
Hahah that’s amazing!! That happens to me all the time and I get freaked out. Worse when you are driving and have headphones in and someone puts a siren in their vid!!! Freaks me out
It wont run 4k 60 or 5.3k 30 any solution? I just got the go pro 12 and have this exact card but 256 gb. Speeds up to 170 mbs 90 write. Please help man
would love to know about how much data can be stored with these sizes... i have a 400gb of the card mentioned in the video and think since i'm traveling for 5-7 weeks and shooting a bunch of different angles/mounts/timelapses/etc - perhaps 400gb will fill up...somewhat...quickly?? i'm curious your thoughts on needed amount of storage for a 5-7 week travel (wanting to shoot a bunch and get many timelapse/cinematic/ hyperlapse/etc shots... but don't think i can edit from my phone successfully and quickly enough - wont have a laptop at all during this time either. . . . . . . any suggestions??
Hey great video. straight to the point. Just wanted to ask a question, I have a SanDisk extreme 256 GB. It has all the same letters snd numbers like the one in your video, but it’s not the pro. The issue I’m having is when I plug it into my GoPro hero 9 with a media mod, the card isn’t capturing the audio. In fact, I can’t even control the setting for front or back microphone. I don’t have this problem with the 64 GB card that came with my GP. Am I doing something wrong, or is the card not the right one to capture audio with the media mod? I hope that makes sense, sorry if this isn’t an advanced question, I’m still a new user, and I don’t have a degree in film making. Appreciate your help
Maybe that’s the trick... first off thanks for the kind words... maybe over 64GB card the computer doesn’t recognize from the gopro... I’ll have to test that theory out
Thanks for the comment Cody! I agree I get so annoyed when I just need that info and you gotta wait through 10 mins on the chance that you might get the info you are looking for
this card has option 90MB/sec (write speed), on my Hero9 settings is clear written max write speed is 150MBs (4K, for example TimeLapse). So this sd card You PROMOTE looks like a fake.
hmmmm you got me thinking on this one... i did all the math at the time of making this video and it all checked out, Max i have seen on hero 9 is 100m/bs high bitrate at 5K... and at recording this video the highest write speed for micro Sd card is 90mb/sec
I think it should be okay. I shoot mine at the highest bitrate and I think that it helps having that pro model, but the standard should be okay too. Gopro signs off on it, so it should be good
Hey it’s me again ... lol 😂 ok so about how much storage would I need if I’m recording 3-4 hours of 4K 60fps? Would 128GB be enough or would 256GB be better? Asking for a friend 🧐
i’m getting tired of looking for a good enough card i need at least 4 hours of recording in 4k i have no problem buying two 128gb but it seems like the market is flooded with counterfeit cards even the one you linked has reviews on amazon saying it has errors or that it is counterfeit kinda crazy that there’s not a single go to website to know you’re not getting ripped off.
hey thanks for letting me know. its weird because that was the same one i bought from amazon! i dont know why the comments are saying that, but you should be able to get 4 hours of 4k on 128GBs
