I agree. GoPro is the only action camera I've ever owned, but this is game over for GP now in every category that I can think of.

8k is kinda pointless on RU-vid except for cropping in my opinion 😅

I can't disagree with you, but in my opinion, the image quality will be higher than 4k. It's just a bit strange that all the RU-vidrs received a non-8k camera, which makes me wonder if this camera is truly capable of recording in 8k or if it's just upscaling the 4k with integrated AI.

One youtuber talked about it. They got told not to mention 8k because they weren't sure they would enable it to the public, but a couple of days ago they decided to enable 8k after all :)

My 9 has been just fine. Agree on the stabilization being better on the GP. Loam Ranger did a comparison, the Insta has too much "stabilization blur" when mountain biking in rough terrain. I'd say it looks about how the Hero 7 looked. At this point GoPro's stabilization has just gotten insanely good.

Why should GoPro do like Insta360? Or like DJI? Why should either of them do like GoPro? Although the OA4 is, in my opinion, an action camera and better than the GoPro in low light, the Ace Pro is not an action camera. GoPro makes action cameras, not vlogging cameras. What do you need a flip screen for when you're speeding down a snowy slope or kayaking in the rapids? Same with gesture controls and pausing video recording. Or the magnetic mounts? I don't get those. Adding an extra piece of metal to a camera to get the mounting feet things that are already built in on the gopro? Why add weight and bulk to a camera that should be as light and slim as possible? So you can quickly mount your camera in a different position? Good luck doing that while surfing or wingsuit flying. And you can't even replace the lens cover if you crack the thing! These are all great features in vlogging cameras, not something you're gonna stick to a motorbike or surf board. Only major advantage I see in the Ace Pro is the low light and even that is a relatively niche thing in action sports filming. As for colours, dynamic range, HDR, etc. It mostly boils down to personal preference. Do you prefer a warmer look, a bluer or greener tone? No one is better than the other. To be honest, unless you start tinkering with the settings, all of them look like 💩. The moment you start tinkering with those, you can make your footage look exactly what you want it to look like, on either camera. I get that Insta360 are running a great and obviously successful marketing campaign, selling a vlogging camera as an action camera and everybody is falling for it but it's our job to apply critical thinking in deciding what is best for our needs.

I have the hero 12 and the Ace Pro. The hero 12 has way better video quality when I do a comparison in the way I use the cameras. The Ace pro's de-warp is not fully capable of straightening lines and the sharpness or clarity just isn't there for me. I've tried every possible setting and the GoPro Hero 12 outperform in video quality.

Maybe.... But as a GoPro owner for 3 generations they lost me for the instability. There were instances I had to resurface during a dive cause my GoPro needed their battery pulled. Unacceptable​@@ACHVPEAK

I thought the lens cover was user replaceable. A different video I watched said that there are ND filters for it.

@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker I've heard the production models don't have replace lens, but the ones reviewers are getting do. Maybe those ND filters snap over the top of the lens cover?

Did you even watch the video? It says iso levels. It was auto iso up to 1600 on both cameras.

@PeterLindgren1 Yes therefore i asked you if the insta where using higher iso then the gopro and I'm still trying to get an awnser what was used by the camera.
