Should you get the GoPro Hero 10 or the GoPro Max? In this video I'll be going through all the differences between these two flagship GoPro cameras.

I've been using both the GoPro Hero 10 and the GoPro Max to see what the difference between the two cameras are. One is the top of the line action camera and the other is a 360 camera with loads of shooting options.
Despite both the Max and Hero 10 being GoPro cameras they are meant to be used in very different ways. In this video I'll show you the fundamental differences between these cameras.

How did it work? I shot this video on an old Hero 3+ and am looking to upgrade to something with a wider angle lens like the Max because the shot is constantly missing the good sights like one of the giant volcanos I drove by you can barely see because the lens isn't wide enough. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iyP9Vrh_TQY.html

Thanks for the great video, super helpful! When the MAX is set to 'hero mode' do you still need to frame the shot from spherical to linear in post via the app or am I able to just use the footage and it comes out in a linear format like a normal gopro?

I found this review extremeley helpful! Thank you! 8:11 I just wanted to touch on a point you made about why these action Cameras are needed. I record alot of video from Roller Coasters, and something like a chest mounted Go Pro is essential to making sure I'm recording in a safe manner. Phone simply can't be used in a safe manner on a Roller Coaster. The Go Pro Max would allow me to not just record the ride, but my facial expressions also.

Amazing review. Obviously the Hero has better audio, but my question is, what is the best 360 camera for internal mic quality? I've been using the Insta360 One X2 and it's been a little disappointing on that matter. But should I buy now a GoPro Max now to fix that audio issue or should I wait for new release?

Just use your iphone and better lights.. You don't need GoPro to shooting haircut.

I'm interested in the GoPro Max for 360 shooting. 1. How long can I shoot with a charged battery? 2. How does the storage limit how long I can shoot? 3. What format are the 360 files stored? 4. Can I edit those files in Davinci Resolve 18 and then pan and tilt the picture while editing? 5. Does GoPro supply software to edit as in question 4?

Thank you for a great review. I will be purchasing this to put on a bike helmet. Will be doing family rides. Sometimes I am in front, sometimes in the middle, sometimes in back. Do you think the 360 is good for that, or should I go with a hero? Question 2: The rides can be long. Which camera will power and record from a 1 amp USB outlet from my eBike battery?

Great Review! I'm looking to get one of these, for a family trip to London in a couple weeks. So, your example footage is PERFECT... I want something for doing 360 videos (to watch in VR), but I also want something to record CNC jobs (and a live webcam to monitor them). So, it's a hard decision. I'm thinking about maybe getting the Max for the 360 videos, and then just get an older hero for the CNC/Webcam stuff..... What to do, what to do.....

If you change settings on the GoPro Max's bit rate, the quality is much better. It is by default on low, so you have to change it.

get a sony zv1 or sony zve10 or canon m50 camera for music video. gopro is for action videos. they dont do well in low light and too wide angle for music video.

1. No it doesn't. That's only possible with a 360 camera 2. Yeah it has horizon lock

1. Nope. 2. Yes but only to a certain degree. If you want to have the full horizontal lock you will need the Max Lens Mod for the GoPro

@@bobeldijk2000 2. Not necessarily. You can select on camera that you have Max lens mod attached (when in reality you do not) - you will have the 360 horizon lock in 2.7k quality

I m in the same boat as yours.... I m in a dilemma between Zv1 and go pro hero 10.. definitely not Max because it takes a lot of time to reframe and edit... To make it a normal video.... May be will wait for a couple of months for hero 11 and decide then

This pretty much solidifies my choice in getting the 10, I wear mine on my chin of my helmet so 360 would do no good. Plus the audio being more distorted by the max would just annoy me. The minimal stability difference doesn’t outweigh all the positives of the 10

I ride horses in a discipline called team sorting. We chase cows around a arena. Lots of zig zaging and chasing. Which camera to you recommend. The 10 or the Max? I'm also sitting like 6ft off the ground on top of the horse. I really want the quality of the camera. Will the 10 do ok with me shooting while riding a horse?

if there's loads of movement then the Max. But you need to learn to edit and it takes a bit of time

I went to get my GoPro 9 I saw that GoPro Max I saw the video and I instantly filled up with the max. I feel that the GoPro line the regular one is obsolete because GoPro Max always gives you the best footage without you necessary being in the frame I've used that mountain biking and even surfing it is the best

Even right now the GoPro Max is still better than the GoPro hero 10 to achieve this you have to buy a bunch of add-ons just to get what the GoPro Max does. And on top of it you get full 360 coverage at 5K I know it's not 6K but still you don't have to worry you're always going to get a great video shot

@@gatway100 Agree for what its made. You need 360 rather than H. It doesn't mean H obsolete in every aspect and Max better than H. It's for different purpose. But the image quality, far below H. I don't need all that stuff to make it like Max. I'll using H on my helmet and use Max on my bike dashboard. Thats the best for me.

If audio is your main focus, you should never rely on the internal microphone of any action camera. They are physically limited by their size and will never produce high quality audio no matter the settings you use. For high quality audio recordings you need to use an external microphone.

I gave my gopro 3, 7 and 8 away as my phone takes 8k and quality at 4k blew the gopro away, would never go back to gopro unfortunately, I still use a session on my traxxas xmaxx controller tho to record my rc videos
