Thank you for your perspectives on the 11! Useful and thoughtful insights that add to my growing knowledge about these cameras. As an aside, I bought the 11 and your observations will add to how I approach using this new device.
The BIG difference between the 11 and 10 is the 11 no longer has the annoying freezing issue which is the reason I sold my 10 to get the 11. I've been using the 11 for almost a month and I have not encountered any bugs or freezing issues.
A weird issue I’ve encountered in the 11 that I’ve never encountered in any other GoPro is that, every once in a while, like maybe one in every hundred or so clips, image stabilization isn’t just off - the camera seems to insert motion sway. It’s not temperature related, whether in extreme cold or heat. But the clip is just completely unusable
Thanks for your honesty instead of trying to hype it up like some other videos I watched. I have a 10 and am considering my first 360 camera instead of the 11 like you suggested.
Thanks for the review. I'm looking to get my first action camera for the upcoming Falmouth race you did in 2021. I've run that race many times with a weather sealed camera but I'm finally hoping to run it with an action camera. The GoPro seems to take better quality images in my opinion but the Insta 360 seems like it would be amazing for a scenic run like Falmouth. I'm going to rewatch your video from 2021 and also look for some of you 360 videos. Thanks again.
Well here is my thought about buying a hero 11, I’m kind of new to this world and the only experience I have is with the Akaso Brave 7 that I bought about 6 months ago, it takes great videos and pictures but the audio leaves something to be desired, I even got a mic for it and that helped but still far from what I would really like. So with that said it seams to me that if the $50.00 difference between a 10 to the new hero 11 is not going to break the bank then the hero 11 would be the way to go. Granted it probably has features that I may not use at this point but as I become more familiar with how to use more of the features it has there is room for me to grow into it without having to buy a new 12 or what ever the new and improved version might be without having to spend another 4 or $500.00 2 years from now. Just my 2 cents worth and would appreciate other options on this as I’m looking to buy the new hero 11 in the first few weeks of November 22 instead of the hero 10 for $50.00 less. I like to use this on my 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide and may even want to play around with a RU-vid channel sometime.
I kinda figured the 12 would be the one to get, but I upgraded anyway, since I am coming from the 5. I noticed every year had some cool, new features that I wanted to play with, but I couldn't justify buying a new one. So, I waited, and waited ,and finally decided to go ahead and make the leap. Besides, I keep my stuff for a long time, and never really need the latest and greatest, since I can just be creative with what I have. It's the limitations that boost my creativity. By the way, I just found this channel today, through a comment on a marathon running thread, and I like what I have seen. Your videos are great quality, and you seem like a really interesting guy to meet, and not some empty YT "personality" or "influencer." I look forward to seeing more.
For me the 360 horizon lock is a must to be able to run with the camera hand held and get the best video quality. That way the video is locked horizontally no matter how you hold the camera. Epic feature in GP11 🥳

I don't understand why my battery keeps dying so quickly. Just sitting idle it can easily drop to 80% within 20 minutes. I've brought it on marathons before and it's just disappointing unless I bring multiple batteries. Is there a default setting that could be killing it? I haven't picked up an enduro yet but according to the settings, the health is fine. I have a GP10
(except for the intro) i filmed this entire video on a gopro using one battery ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-flAQNO5CGJ0.html i do recommend the enduro battery (I think they started including it automatically with gopro 11?). but i am never just leaving a gopro on for 20 miniutes. i also use quick capture and most of my clips are like 30 seconds or less. so the camera is never unnecessarily on.
I assume you mean selfie stick (as I do not run with a tripod), but yes your results will vary, and I personally do not like it, but some people do it with great success
Nice review! Thanks. What about horizon lock? My use case involves the camera in kite lines where it will move around a lot and sometimes do 360s. I use the one X2 for this at the moment but it's a bit bulky and not that great for shots at a distance several times a selfie stick length.
The 11 is the best one. But it depends on what your budget is, what kind of frame rates you need, and what kind of lighting is typical for your underwater shots. I’m guessing underwater shots don’t need the highest level of stabilization or great audio. A hero 10 could be a great option, but I don’t shoot underwater and am unfamiliar with whether the lighting is typically bright enough for good 4k120 footage. So it might not be all that different to get a hero 9. But I shoot running footage, so I would defer to someone who shoots underwater, like Mic Bergsma, for example

Hello, first of all, thank you for the video. I'm buying a Go Pro 11 soon. I do marathons in different parts of the world and I want to document it. I would love for you to answer two questions from your tremendous experience. I understood that the battery is only enough for an hour of shooting, so is it really enough for a marathon shooting? The second question is what accessory do I need I think I will use what you use thanks in advance
A1. I shoot many little clips. One long clip is super boring. At the end of Tokyo Marathon, I had 30% battery left. I also run with a second Enduro battery in a plastic baggie in case I need more battery life after the race. A2. for first time action camera users, I think the 10 is a fantastic camera. is the 11 better? yes. but for most people, it will come down to a personal decision as to how much that extra cost versus performance matters
@@kofuzi il go all in and get the latest one. I rarely upgrade gadgets. I been using the same motorola flip phone for ages til I upgraded to an iphone 13 a year ago.
if you're only problem is the battery heat (and you like the image quality and frame rate that you're getting), consider just getting a new battery. that may solve the issue, as batteries don't last forever. I can't guarantee that the new one won't overheat, as some people have had issues with shooting long 4k clips (over 15 minutes) in indoor (or in-car) conditions. I personally never shoot that way, so I don't have overheating issues. I run in wintry conditions, so frozen batteries are more my area of expertise
I'd say just buy the latest one. If you try and start off with an older one to test the waters and then decide to buy the latest one, you'll end up wasting what you spent purchasing that older GoPro. With so many reviews and comparisons in the net I'm pretty sure people already have a good idea of what they want when they go and buy things.
Go Pro 11 + DELKIN 256gb/s (microSD card reads + writes @300mb/s) ...that combo of DELKIN + GO PRO is what would separate you from the rest imo. it gives me 4 hours running 5.3k @60fps 10bit
depends on how budget sensitive you are. the 9 will feel like a massive upgrade. but for $50 more, you can get the 10, which gets you 4k120. and I just love that frame rate and resolution.
@@kofuzi I kind of have to disagree here. My very first action camera is the Insta360 One X2. I have very limited experience in proper filming and photography, but I still have so much fun with the camera. The fact that I don’t have to worry about where I am pointing my camera frees up my attention and allows me to just enjoy whatever I am doing.
i have the 8, impulse bought the 11, at first i thought there would be little to no difference in image quality, but after doing some comparison videos myself, i noticed quite a bit, especially in the cloud details and controlling scenes with strong light sources, check my channels recent video, the 50 minute 17 second long one for results.

Hello, New Cycling guy here. Looking into the GoPro to start filming my rides. Have no idea what the best camera for me but I do know I want to film my rides and see how far my new hobby takes me. Question…can you store footage yourself instead of buying the cloud subscription? Any advantages or disadvantages? For privacy reason, I am not too trusting of the cloud but I am open to change.
already recorded a bunch of cycling footage on the 11 in my channel. just buy a large hard drive like 18TB or something and store your footage on there.
Well for me I bought Hero 10 as upgrade from Hero 6 as Hero 6 was only good in 2.7K, 4k was not stable and needed too much light so Hero 10 with GP2 procesor was a viable upgrade. As far as I know the Hero 11 srill has GP2 processor and no significant improvement in low light. I too prefare high frame rates and for me a measure of how good a camera is, is the picture quality when you freeze a frame to see how much detail it has and how focused it is. I notice on my Hero 10 the horizon leveling is dodgy in 5K maybe I overlooked a setting, don't know how it is with Hero 11 although do like that you can turn it all the way around and it still levels although have not seen reviews about that in 5k yet. But given that the processor is still the same as Hero 10 I will wait till next year and hopefully they will come up processor upgrade and camera that is more sensitive in low light. As for the fancy light show well to me it's of no use.
@@dnegel9546 For you maybe but 5k and 8k are much better to watch for me and as far as the rest well they will catch up too but in any case I like to have quality records for myself, just has more detail.
@@dnegel9546 I use a Dell 8k monitor as not really a TV person although 8k TV’s are cheaper but I use with PC, anyway my Samsung phone can go up to 8k, a Gopro 10 and a couple of DJI drones that do 5k and an Autel evo II pro 6k (almost) and the quality is noticeably better in even the 5k mode on the gopro. The new stuff like inspire 3 can do 8k at 75fps although too big for my needs (but in time I’m sure a compact version will be developed). Even when viewing on a small screen mobile phone you can zoom in and see the extra detail like you can’t do with 1080p so I like to capture memories in the best quality I can afford and the prices keep going down. And to be honest when I view a video in 1080p now it just sucks compared to 4k or higher. Now do I do my videos for Aunt Mertil with her old out-dated phone, that needs magnifying glass to even read, No, in fact I would no even waste time with a drone/camera that only does 1080p/1440p these days. And be honest don’t you wish you could have taken some precious memories in 4/5k+ in the past especially if that was available at the time and not cheaped out in 1080p especially how prices have dropped over the years. Now I’m just a tourist with these expectations think of what a pro’s must be. End of the day it’s up to individual preference. Sorry I went on too much.

I have a brand new Go pro 11 .and I haven't used. i am feeling horrible Coz I can't take it back to the shops😔 and I have Spending Lot's of the money for it😔Coz you are explained in this Video that Go pro 11.that is not a good Camera's😔 at all
the GoPro 11 a great camera. best GoPro ever (see first three words in the thumbnail). but my explicit but perhaps too nuanced point is that most people won't need to rush out and get it. if you need an action camera and can afford this one, it's a great choice.
