I bought one of these brand new about six years ago for my kid. I swear she opened it, played with it once and never touched it again. I have no clue how to use and guessing it’s outdated but sure wish I could get some use out of it.
@Amy D Haha! If it's any comfort, a friend of mines husband (who is a terrible technophile) simply could not live without this 3d camera he had seen. 5ish years later, he has yet to take a photograph with it.
i have had my hero 5 several years. spot on with your assessment that it is frustrating...beyond so. this thing has sat around and collected dust. your video has been so easy to understand. taking my gopro on a cruise this weekend! thanks so much.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, I purchased the Hero 5 for my husband for our anniversary and neither one of us has ever used one. I'm very happy that I found your channel.
After much research (probably over-researched, as usual), I pulled the trigger and bought a GoPro Hero 5 Black. Wanted something to use while kayaking, ATV'ing, and just generally videoing stuff we do. Already have a dash cam in our cars. This video was just what I needed to get a basic understanding of the camera. Now, to go out and start using it, making a few mistakes, straightening them out, and enjoying the camera for what I bought it for. Thank you Air Photography.
I’ll add to the many accolades to say that I thought this was an exceptionally well-done tutorial! I’ve used still cameras all my life (now 69), but thought I’d finally dip my hand into video for an upcoming cross-country drive, and this was perfect as an introduction. Thanks! I’ll look at your catalog for other vids on this model, which I’m borrowing for the trip. Cheers!
This is the best tutorial I’ve watched I’m on holliday and struggled with this go pro I’m about to do a safari and feel confident I can use this now thanks so much 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi! I just bought my Go Pro hero 5 today and as a newbie, I'm so clueless on what to do. Thank you for creating these simple tutorials. Very very helpful. I'm looking forward to watch your other videos once I'm already used to the basic things. More power!
Very helpful!! Bought my first GoPro today, GoPro5 Black. Had NO IDEA how to use it at all. Thanks to your video, after it is charged, I will be able to try out the things you went over. Looking forward to watching your other videos. You got my sub and like.
Hey, thanks a lot eh!! Actually I do have a question for you...I bought a 64G SD card today and a spare battery along with one of those dual battery chargers. I charged all three batteries up, installed a battery and the SD card and went for a ride. I just tried to watch the videos I made, apparently I had to install "Quick." I can watch the videos but they are REALLY choppy...like one second I am attaching my cell phone to the bike holder on the handle bars, it freezes, and then I am sitting on my bike with it running. The whole time I can hear the audio, but the video is skipping...I don't get it.
+MrDirtdart did you record in 4K? If so it could be your computer cannot handle 4K video for smooth of the playback. You can't convert the video down to a lower resolution or record in 1080 or 2.7 K.
Air Photography.....ya, that was the problem...I changed it over to 1080 and 30 fps and now it works awesome. I guess it's time to purchase a better computer eh?! lol
Funny story; I am in Ukraine and accidentally brought my 5 instead of my 11. The menu looked very off and I realized what I had done. I came back to this video to help me relearn the menu on my 5. Great info and presentation. Thank you so much
Often people don't say thank you but I do...thank you for putting this together. I purchased a Hero 5 and it is on it's way to me. Glad I watched your video so I know what to do once it arrives.
Wow...I wish I knew this info a few years ago. Knowing about voice commands would have made past track days and driving experiences less cumbersome. Guess what I'm going to be using next track day! Glad I stumbled onto this video. Thanks!!
Thank you so much! I just got a Hero 5 black for my birthday and I tried a lot by my self but now I know you have more video's I know for sure I will use my Pro as best as I can. Thanks so much!
I bought a brand new gopro 7 white. Tested it and sent it back the next day, crap!!!! I then got a 2nd hand hero 5 black, and it's great! Much, much better!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m just getting to grips with my Hero 5 and this vid has been a great help. Your soothing voice, not yapping on at a hundred miles an hour is a great help. The background music is great too, somehow it helps to uncomplicate things and make it fun. I’m going to check out your other tutorials and back catalogue. Thanks again. Cheers.
Thanks for taking the time to introduce those, particularly myself, to how to get started with the GoPro items. Your pace and instruction was just right. I’ll be sure to watch other videos.👍
Now that you know how to use this camera do you suggest it ? I'm in the Philippines and need to video some mointain trips on a motorcycle . Do I need to buy accesories to mount to helmets or handlebars ?
@@tobeymatthews4345 I think it’s good for motorcycle rides. But it’s the only camera I’ve used for rides, so I don’t know if it’s “the best” to recommend. Yes, you have to buy separate mounts depending how you want to wear it. I don’t love it, it doesn’t look good on the helmet, and I can’t tell if I’m filming unless I take the camera off and look at it and then reattach it to my helmet. Or if a friend is there I ask them if it’s recording. There’s a beep that goes off when you hit record but it’s not loud enough for me to hear with the helmet on in the city. I did use it to film when I swam with sharks tho. I think I just like how it’s a wearable water proof camera for rides and under water adventures. Also, I recommend bigger memory cards so you can film longer trips. And I think the battery dies after 2hrs, so I also recommend extra batteries. There’s battery cases that charge the battery, like airpod cases. Hope that helps. Ride safe and have fun on your trips!!
WONDERFUL! Clear, step by step, great pace and visuals. I want to find the next video now (transferring files to computer) RU-vid didnt automatically send me there.
Thanks for taking the time to teach how to use the GoPro. I just got mine a couple of days ago from an EBay site. Brand new with about 40 accessories like mounts and such. NO DIRECTIONS...So that wasn't great but you really made the beginning easy. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos so I can get this set up in/on my car and make some videos. Thanks man !
Thank you so much for your sharing of this great video,,,,,very informative ,,,, I just bought my GoPro yesterday,,,,,I'm 60 years old,,,,,not the sharpest tool on the work bench when it comes to today's tech stuff. I purchased the dual battery charger also,,,,and a floating handle for water use. I'm headed to Antigua in a couple weeks,,,diving on Cade's reef and wanted to video it. I'll pick up a power bank this week,,,,( never knew this type of thing existed) You did a perfect , informative , easy to understand walk through of the GoPro,,,,,well done my friend,,,well done,,, I'm looking forward to viewing your next videos ,,,,, Thanks once again for your efforts.... You made an old mans day so much easier !!!
After watching your review we went out and got our first gopro the 5 model and I have just watched this program to learn what a great way to learn very simple to follow thanks heaps now in a couple of days we are going to try and find your next guide that for the great post
My wife and girls got me this camara for very happy father's day 😄 . This video was good info for new people to the action cams, just subscribed. keep up the good work.
I bought mine last week. I turned on the voice command, but it never asked me what language. Therefore, when I tried to command it to do a video, nothing. Same with the command to take a picture. WITH that being said, your video is much easier to watch and easier for a 65 year young guy to understand. Thanks.
New subscriber! You saved me from throwing my Gropro into the wall lol. Thank you, I had no idea about the voice commands either(so new to this) but thank you for this!!
Very informative. I am a great photographer, but this GoPro thingy is a new toy and you give good concise directions on the setup and use of the parts. I am looking forward to taking some good pictures with it on my next vacation. Thanks.
Thanks man for your time making this vid is awesome the way you explain the tutorials My son just got me a hero 5 for my birthday and I’m so old fashion that I decided to watch some videos tutorials before I open the box jajaja by the way your calm voice make huge difference of some others vids- 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏻 Well thanks again I do really appreciate it ✌🏻
Very helpful video, particularly the part where you demonstrate how the voice commands work. Only problem is, I happened to be charging my GoPro from my computer as I was watching this and now I have several videos & photos of my ceiling that you told it to take.
I should have watched this yesterday when I got mine. Still learned some things. The battery I got was completely drained. So that was confusing for me because it seemed to be DOA. But I just had to charge it, which took some time.
Your video was informative as we are going on a cruise next year, I bought a GoPro Hero 5 so I can get started using it and editing my videos as I am new to this. I have taken some videos and the quality seems to be great and creating videos thru Quik and Splice Movies are easy for first timers!
Just bought my first go pro, and this is really good and descriptive. Thank you so much for the info and cool gadgets to go along with it. There’s gotta be so much out there for it. I’m trying to do videos of bmx and my wrx stuff. Ny iPhone started limiting me with videos.
It’s like I’m taking a GoPro tutorial class, without the fee! Awesome info vid! Learned a lot. Now to go back & watch a few more times. I’m a subscriber now! Keep up the great vids!
great intro to basics...calm and methodical. Now I'm ready for more details about the submenu choices so I have subscribed to your channel. I am particularly interested in using my new GoPro Hero 5 Black fishing in my kayak and will want to learn how to edit the videos.
I could not begin to get my new GoPro 5 Black figured out ... not even installing the battery and charging. GoPro instructions are non-existent. Fortunately, I discovered your Unboxing and Getting Started videos, which are excellent! I am going to follow your advice on accessories as well. Thank you very much ... liked and subscribed :)
I just got my Go Pro 5 Hero today at Best Buy here in Reno NV. They were very helpful with me getting this cantraption setup. I was able to find out how to turn it off by watching your videos. What I am now trying to figure out is what are the beebing sounds pertain to.
Very good video, quite helpful. I only wish you started with how to take the camera off the mount that comes attached in the packaging, as well as how to remove the housing/case. I somehow missed the directions on the box and had to have my 16 year old show me how. I feel too old for all the new technology, ugh!
