I've bought a Hero 5 Black new when the Hero 7 Black was introduced. I've used the 5 on extreme hikes like Angels Landing, riding twisties on motorcycle and while out for an evening run. I've mounted it on windshield as a dash cam and it works as good as it ever has. if you can find one in decent condition pre-owned get one and save a few $$$
For 95% of users 95% of the time with stills or video it’s just not about the camera, it’s about the eye and the subject. Huge resolution is simply not required for the majority of video work, particularly for streaming, and for stills only if you are producing very large prints and if folks are producing those they aren’t using GoPros. The best camera is always the one you have with you!
Hey. Yes the hero 5 was used with a gimble for the bike shot and I recorded in flat so I color graded it. The hero 5 still holds up for action shots and I’m well lighted situations. Just the low light is an issue with the the hero 5.
Nice video man, I hope you make it as a RU-vidr. Can you make a video comparison between 5 and 11? I own a hero 5 and I am thinking of buying an 11 and I can’t find any comparison videos
I would agree. As long as it has a gimbal with it. Once you remove it from a gimble it becomes super shaky and not so good, I still use the hero 5 for different angles shots, but the 11 surpasses it by far,
I bought a hero 5 black when it first came out. It's still brand new in the box I never even opened it. We just started cruising and I have to learn how to use it now but I didn't know if I should just buy a new one like a 12. I have a the new Samsung S24 5 camera phone and the video on that is amazing...
I own all go pros. But not the 11 yet I use all my go pros I have the very first go pro that was a 35 mm camera then won the next go pro. No matter what camera you use it’s the topic that counts the most. And with the app you can change the view. I’m not the one to say the picture is horrible the go pro gimbal I have only uses the 5 and 6 go pro and under 5 needs a case to use the go pro. I say use what you have. If the topic is good then video can be good I use go pro to canon to Nikon to Samsung old camera it just the video but I know there is video critics and people hom dissect the whole video. I know tons on go pros
I agree with you. After uploading this video and rewatching it it seems the go pro her 5 footage is still holding up. I’m going to have to do an update video. I’m going for a ride today and taking both go pros to do a side by side comparison, of course I’m not a professional photographer and am currently learning the ropes of editing. I’m sure a professional can make the hero 5s footage look amazing, unfortunately I’m not at that point yet .
@@HippieMTB if you do side by side of course you will see a difference most channels did a side by side on other go pros but to me it’s unfair to use older to newer. If you want to do side by side go pro 6 would be the equal I own all except the 11. I’m waiting for summer to cold to try a new camera. Plus I’ll be buying both 11s. I have the knock off action cameras I call no pros. I do videos with equal cameras the no pros are like the go pro one my go pro 1 works but not always it’s old but all other 2 and up work I update them. If anything grab a mount to use the 5 as a second shot place it to film ya and add that clip to video.
