GoPro Hero 7: Cannot Take Lens Off? Easy Solution (Stuck Lens?) Try This!!!

If you have tried and tried to take off the front lens on your GoPro Hero 7, 6, or 5, with your bare hands but had no success then try this credit card method. Once you take off the lens one to three times then there after you should be able to take it off with your bare hands.
This method should work on the GoPro Hero 5, 6, and 7.
In regards to the $6 GoPro Lens removal tool i cannot find it. If you find it plz post the link in the comments. thx.

This method is absolutely ridiculous, but it works. My fingers are sore for trying to remove the lens on my GoPro 9, and this just worked in 3 seconds. Thank you!

Thank you, you are the first to show the lifting away from the camera body. Others just show the turning motion. Lifting is the key, I was able to get a couple of fingernails under the edge, lift and turn.

I took some 150 grit sandpaper to the card and thinned the edge, made it a lot easier to insert

My GoPro's front lens was stuck on so tight I ended up using plumber's pliers to remove it. First, I wrapped the lens and much of the GoPro in a thick tube sock, then VERY CAREFULLY twisted the edges of the lens with the pliers while pulling outward and turning counterclockwise. The lens came unstuck in a second with no damage to the original front lens.

So I'm just going to throw this out there as a suggestion for anyone having trouble with the thickness of the credit cards as I did. I was only able to bend/chip the bottom of my cards. Maybe I'm just an ape. Try using some playing cards. You can really easily get one in on each side of the lens cover, and then you can slide another layer of cards over top of that first layer to gradually increase the pressure on the lens. Might take 2-3 layers, but the lens twists off pretty easily once you have enough cards pressuring the lens outward.

I had to do this the first time. That thing would not come off at all. It felt like the seal was stuck in there too good. After the first time it comes off easy.
