Works! I just tried this and it worked! Taking the battery out and plugging the charger in... Took a few mins before the GoPro turned on. I let the battery stay out for about 10mins. GoPro came on without the battery, then after another 10 mins I put the battery in and it recognized the batter at 0%. Thanks! - GoPro8 black
@@dailydronejourney nah, I ended up having to do a warranty replacement like 2 months later. GoPro took care of things pretty quickly with shipping the replacement out
Your way of doing it worked really well!!! I left it plugged in with no battery for like 30 min and then held down power and the top button forever and beep beep beep!
@@Meatnyancat22GamingNice! Great to hear! I ended up having to do a warranty replacement in the long run but this method definitely helped for a while.
Brand new Hero 7 Black out of the box didn't charge and watched your video and plugged in hold 10 secs worked for me. So thank you for your knowledge and sharing your video. Looking for the seeing it fully charge now..
Thanks man! Couldn't get mine to do anything at all, would not charge, turn on or even light up. Did the 10 sec reset and now its charging! Ur the man! I liked and subbed.
Im such a fucking idiot xdd. I was panicking about my GoPro for a month, but now when I tried fixing it again, I noticed the plug just wasn't fully in and that's why it wasn't charging haha.
YEESSSS!!!! THIS WORKS!!!! Before this, the gopro wouldnt even charge and i would have to plug it in so it would work and straight after the steps in this video, it started working. Thank you SOOOOOO much.
Thanks, my hero 11 black wouldn't charge or turn on, and plugging it in to charge but with the battery removed worked for me. I also held the button down. Not sure what finally got it to turn on, but it worked. Thanks man.
BRO IT WORKED THAT YOU! Just plugged it in then hold the button for 10 seconds then after another couple seconds it opened. Was just getting ready to go mountain biking, good thing I can bring my camera with me❤😂
Helped me out. Had to switch to a genuine gopro battery till I was able to make the firmware update. Good to go now. Camera is working like a charm now even with the aftermarket battery.
Go pro 7 owner here, had it stored away for years did the cable plug in and power button and it turned on . Thank you so fricking much thought this thing was a goner
My GoPro Hero 8 did exactly this. I had only just set up the Auto Upload while it had low battery and went completely flat. No biggy but it appeared it was so flat that while the battery was in it wouldn’t charge at all, no flash on the LEDs, no activity at all. I thought I had bricked it! The step that worked for me, was plugging the cable in without a battery, it powered up to my relief, I then reinserted the battery while plugged in and on, it then started charging from 1%, somehow I had gone beyond the battery’s critical voltage and it wouldn’t accept a charge! It was charging from my PS4 which may have a lower output. But anyway, thanks mate you fixed it!
Also if at the end of this video you can't fix it and the red LED light won't flash than try leaving your go pro connected to power by charging it and after some time you should see LED light!... that worked for me probably because I didn't use my go pro for about 4 months.
I had no batt when plugged in and a batt was in there. Plugging in with the batt in and holding the power button for 10 sec fixed this and now my batt charges, thank you so so much!!!
Fantastic! The idiot GoPro Hero 8 wouldn't recognize either battery----one registered 100% then quickly revised down to 0%. Tried everything, but your final advice, about wiping the SD card terminals, got it to work. WOW!! Who would have thought? GoPro should have a manual included to give such advice---unbelievable. MANY THANKS FOR THIS EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!
Thank you so much mate this helped a heap. It wasn't charging or turning on but I tried the battery pulled out and turned it on then put the battery back in and it worked straight away
Thanks for the video. I had a bit of a problem the Hero 7 Silver does not have a removable battery. When I hooked it to the computer like you said I finally got the red light.
Thanks for the video.. its really helpful.. I am having my Go Pro Max 360 wont turn on.. After follow ur step, i manage to turn it on again.. Thanks !!!
I couldn’t agree more, I’m in Mexico vlogging right now with a GoPro 9 and having issues, GoPro need to pull their finger out, my 4 year old Sony FDR X3000 no issues at all. It’s not acceptable that I’m vlogging for my RU-vid channel and I can’t rely on my equipment!
Thank you 3 years after making this video the method for taking the battery out while it’s on the charger worked on my hero 11! Thank you so much! …why does this even happen?
Hero 11 and holding the power button without the battery is what saved me here. As soon as I put the battery back in after doing this, it was recognized and started charging.
Actually helped with my hero 9 one of the batteries have a problem of when I plug it in the entire GoPro glitches and tries to shut off but the other one worked and I just left it to charge
Thanks so much bro!!!! i honestly was about to cry😂😂 taking the battery out and holding the power button fixed my issue. Thank you so much!! liked and subbed!🙏🙏
I will try these out later on. Mine is brand new. Did not see the red light while charging. The screen was extremely dim so i could not set up my preferences, now this morning it would not power on. So I'll use these troubleshooting techniques then if all else fails, I'll return the camera. Thanks for the helpful video.
Omg I have a hero 9 but the battery out one helped so much thank you, without u my mum would’ve killed me if I broke the GoPro I spent $750 on with my own money thank u
HELLO THERE.. MY GOPRO HERO 7 BLACK DIDN'T TURN ON AND NOW WHEN I PLUG IN THE CHARGER IT WILL NOT WORK BUT ONLY THINGS HAPPENS IS IT GET SO MUCH OF HEAT. IS THERE ANY WAY TO SOLVE IT ?
Turned out I wrongy put battery inside my go pro 9, thats why it was saying "no battery" and was not charging :D This video guided me into figuring this out, I almost sent it to USA for reclamation from Poland! Thanks man
