Been looking through the comments and I have to say I’m a bit pissed, half of you have Obviously never heard of trawler at least the mackerel choose to bit3 the hook there not pulled out by a huge net that’s destroyed countless sea beads and habitats🙁. This is a great video. Thanks for the post😊
WOW... what an amazing method for catching mackerel. I LOVE mackerel, and in my experience hooked mackerel a much better product than netted mackerel. We catch Mackerel-Scad here in Hawai'i using a similar method except we use handlines so a much slower lower volume process. Thank you for sharing this mazing video!
It's nice to get an underwater take on there reaction to feathers,But as all us fishermen know it's a must have bait for catching bigger fish at sea ,That kind of fishing does not account for the lack of Mackerel in our oceans Its the big trawlers that fucked that up .
They fished the cod in newfoundland as hard as they could for 300 years and it was still sustainable until they brought in the industrial trawlers with radar and everything, after that they got wiped out
What a well shot video, really enjoyed this.Thank you for sharing, i love the bit where the mackerel first come over to the feathers(lure) Like many of us i often wonder what is going on under the sea when we drop a line
Traditionally I tie flies for Trout and salmon but with this lockdown by brother wanted to learn to fish so I have picked up the bait fishing rods and we are going fishing for Mackeral here in the north of Ireland. Now we are going to tie our own feathers rings. Tight lines.
@@Fitraalfadani I tie my own feathers with 80lb line and 40lb snoods for power casting off the beach the extra distance can make the difference more often than not, shop bought ones are cheap enough but crack off, i use water knot and pound land super glue to hold the spilt feather to the silver 3/0 hook before whipping on with red cotton, coupled with six ounces of lead and a pendulam cast watch it go to the deeper water and just arch over with full house, nothing like it.
That's savage to see from under water, see the fish bite. Also as said the way commercial fishing goes. Very interesting and exciting to watch. I must try the go pro on the kayak. You're set up is perfect!. Thanks for the Video.
I am just going to say this that the mackerel is a pest fish for us Norwegians that live in the northern parts of Norway because we see it as a bait fish and not a food fish
Mate fishing, it’s all about where u go that’s it nothing else to it get a kayak my fishing has gone from catching zero fish every single time I go fishing to catching atlests a dozen mackerel and pollock every time I go out
Ive always wondered what went on under my boat. Im not a commercial fisherman and i just catch enough for us to eat. What surprised me is how unappealing the lures look , yet the macky are jumping on. As anyone whos hit a shoal knows tho, it does not matter once they are in a feeding mood. Ive caught them with bare hooks even and once using a biscuit wrapper, as id run out of lures. Brilliant on a bbq or baked in oven with some tarragon!
Cool but at the same time why I no longer buy fish. Commercial fishing has stripped fishing stocks, just sail out watch the sonar see fish, drop the net or line
Bernie Clark Oh it's not only the Russians and Europeans, plenty of local fishermen take part in this decimation with bass and mullet netting in estuaries.
