DIO only ever lost cause people used direct counters to him, like Hamon and also being able to move in stopped time. Alucard was helpless, crushed under the weight of THE WORLD.
So, Dio was canonically dead from this point on, but there will be a few flashbacks in future installments, which means there may still be a few very minor spoilers from other jojo analyzing videos, but it shouldn't spoil you that much.
Back when this came out, I called this Death Battle "The biggest upset" since there were so many people who thought Alucard was going to get the win (myself included). Still, if I were to make a "Top 10" favorite battles, this would definitely be up there since it does feel like DIO starts off thinking this will be "just another easy kill" but by the end of it, he is busting his ass to earn that kill against a being that isn't going to just fall over dead right away.
its because they leave out important info to bend the results to fit there bias, they never specify if dio is versing pre or post Schrodinger alucard, if its the pre Schrodinger alucard, dio would be tired out from the fact that alucard can regen literally millions of times before dio can actually do serious damage, post Schrodinger alucard cant regen easily and is easily killed, they imply its post Schrodinger but never specify, if they told us, then there history of being disgustingly bias wouldnt be an issue edit: got to remember, alucard heals instantly from dio attacks, which implies hes got all the souls and despite him releasing all the souls, he is weaker, but he never actually releases level zero, he has to verbally do that, so they just glossed over a vital detail to fit there narrative

yeah people dickride Alucard pretty hard when it comes to versus debates (though outside of those he's a great character), so a faction of the audience was unwilling to admit that this fight is solidly in DIO's favor and always has been
so the arrow, yeah you're not supposed to know about that yet. the arrow is a plot MacGuffin in later parts. edit: also, hellsing is one of those anime that has 2 versions, one that is more acurate to the manga, and one that goes in its own direction (which is probably the one you watched). so if you don't remember things like the nazis, that is why.
If you have any interest in Hellsing, I would heavily recommend Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. It seems to align with your style of comedy, while still managing to tell the story of the original in a legitimately investing way.
So this is spoilers for a later part, but basically there are these arrows that give people who are pierced by them stands, and before part 3, Dio got his stand because of one of these arrows. And because of that, Jonathan's body sent a signal to the rest of the Joestar people, giving them their stands. So characters like Jotaro didn't develop their stands naturally, they were granted their stands after Dio got his. Knowing this doesn't really spoil anything important for the rest of the parts, but it is a tiny spoil.
I think the next death battle you should watch from season 8 should be Yoda Vs King Mickey It’s one of my favorites from this season. Other ones I recommend include Madara vs Aizen, Iron Fist vs Po, Link Vs Cloud 2021, and Steven Universe vs Star Butterfly.
I still Love this Death Battle, the music and the performances from both actors of Dio and Alucard were amazing along with some amazing moments, but there is a bit of controversy with some details. With some bias in Dio's favor by giving him All his Vampire abilities along with his Za Warudo even though he was never shown using them in part 3, if he had his laser eyes or freeze touch why would he bother with throwing knives at the only threat to him, not to mention Alucard going Level Zero releasing all his souls in the swarm of zombies, sure it's cool but doesn't make sense to nerf his op Regeneration, as well as apparently not understanding Alucard's omnipresence, even Takahata101(Alucard's va in this and the Hellsing Ultimate Abridged series) said "see that was actually Balucard, we purposely trained him wrong as a joke" not agreeing with the results. But despite all that I still Love the Episode, all these years of Death Battle yah learn it isn't worth getting into who won vs who should have one, the series is meant to be entertainment over "factual this is the only outcome"
Dio could not use his vampire abilities because he did not fully merge with Jonathan's body, but after drinking Joseph's blood, he became a full-fledged vampire and can control his abilities again
Eh, I watched the fight on RoosterTeeth First, and it was really fun. Don't mind the outcome, even if I don't fully agree with their reasoning, and some slight misconceptions I think they may have had about Alucard's abilities regarding Schrodinger(for example, in the fights with both Anderson and Walter, he's seen using multiple powers that they claim he wouldn't have if he had Schrodinger inside him, despite him being in Level Zero at that point, and in the fight with Walter, he's lost his familiars, and thus their powers, but still able to use most of his skills, he shapeshifts, casts illusions, I'm pretty sure he walks on a wall etc..., so he clearly still has access to most of his powers despite having lost his familiars, so he should still have them with Schrodinger, his healing factor isn't as broken, and he can actually be killed in level Zero, he can just never get 3,000,000 souls inside him again, not he that he needs to anymore. while he can't absorb anymore people's souls, the only abilities he doesn't have are those he's taken from other people, but most of his vampiric abilities should be available to him and I very much doubt Alucard or Dio could hypnotize the other considering they both have the ability and Alucard has telepathic and telekinetic abilities that should help resist an ability like that, and if Alucard made any wounds fast enough, it's likely he could pull out some of Dio's blood. So while I understand how they came to the conclusion on who would win, I don't fully agree with their post episode explanation, though I was hoping Alucard would win.) but still a great episode regardless. I love both these characters, so I'm just happy to see them in a death battle and hope that one day, they both get to be in another against someone else. In my opinion, 7-8/10. But if DIO really was so much faster than light as they said, he'd never need to hide from the sun as the light itself would be slower than an ant, carrying a snail, carrying a turtle through tar mixed with molasses as seen in a slow motion at . 25 speed That silver chariot feat was now based on calculating where the light would be beforehand, not outspeeding it
I'm just annoyed cause Alucard ended up having an OP ability of only dying if he wants it and can return if he knows he didn't die! Not to mention, Restraint Level 0 seems more like a last resort against a horde, not one vampire. I swear this, Ben 10 vs Green Lanturn and Luigi vs Tails are the only DBs to piss me off with the end result.
Dio could kill Alucard 3 million times, you just know no one wants to watch Dio kill Alucard for several hours and made level zero just for the sake of entertainment, about the Schrodinger ability said in the episode!
@@crcoghillThat's the thing though. Alucard can literally do nothing about DIO's Stand no matter how much he tries. Yes, he absorbs souls but he doesn't have a soul based fighting ability.
@@crcoghill Except he wouldn't of. Alucard doesn't even have any evidence to assume he can make big plans in battle (the only intelligent thing I can remember Alucard doing in a battle was tricking Walter into stabbing Luke's corpse instead of himself). Dio is one of the smartest people in the entire Jojos verse, so he would definitely out think Alucard. Also, Alucard is still hundreds of thousands of times slower and weaker, and nothing stops Dio from using his also fairly broken healing factor whenever he wants due to the insane amount of blood Alucard loses in like every fight. Dio can just stop time and smash Alucard's face in for a few hours and would eventually win, with Alucard having no feasible way of out thinking Dio.
