I usually hate when people cover this song because so many people have done it and you can't really cover it, but Gord downie proved me wrong. This is and will be the best version of the song.
RIP my friend... may you be at peace and no longer in pain. you truly were a inspiration to many especially to those fighting cancer ,,, my condolences to your family and friends!
Thank you Gord Downie. Thank you for making us proud Canadians even prouder of our country. Canada's Shakespeare with the voice of an angel. You are free now so rock out in the heavens. RIP Mr Downie
I've lived, eaten & breathed Hip since 'Up To Here', how did I not know Gord did a version of 'Hallelujah'!? Very moving! We Love You Gord! #FuckCancer
I'm not a Christian and I really love this song.Well, it's not about religious issues for me, it's like about what you,who you really are.Your tryings, your exhausting days because of working, blief, and the others. Rest in peace good souled man.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU for sharing this song. I have loved it since the movie came out years ago. I fought for the release of the soundtrack they started but never published. Best version, best verses by far. I'm full of sorrow to hear Gord is fighting cancer. Such a haunting voice. I'm praying for VICTORY over cancer, in Jesus Name AMEN! FIX IT, GOD...
I was listening to Gordon's Vancouver Divorce and after the song, I learned he passed away because of cancer. What a tragic loss. He was really a great singer-songwriter. I truly hope he rests in peace by now.
Adam Your movie Saint Ralph is one of my all time favorites. I played it for my dear Mother who loved it! She died in Feb. 2016. The song is so heartfelt. Gord did it best. Hey Adam wishing you all the best.
what the fuck? i must've forgot to log out of my account. i didnt post that! although strrrrrangely enough my mom DID die of brain cancer, but in September of 2001
To all of those who made this version possible for release, THANK YOU!!! I know their were some "issues" getting it released after the movie. Im grateful that this version is available for all of us to enjoy and appreciate. Seriously, thank you!
A few years ago I came looking for this song, and could only find versions that had audio ripped from the movie. The song was broken up in parts (and possibly incomplete), and was mixed in with the rest of the audio from the film (the announcer, cheering spectators, etc.). Great to hear a complete, "clean" version.
Thank you to the CBC radio ( Halifax ) for playing my request on " One Song in A Row " the day Gord Downie, slipped away.thanks for the tearsDavidNova Scotia
How did I not know this existed until today? NOT the Jeff Buckley arrangement, which is fairly common, but the Leonard Cohen arrangement. I'd expect nothing else from Canada's most angelic voice (my opinion, anyway). Heaven is a better place today, and always, with you in it, Gordie. God how I miss you!
Ron that you ? You there ? Where’s Robert or Gina or Regina or Chris or William anyone speaking English ? Ron sometimes I think that Selena is always there and feels like I do always has felt that way and other times I think she doesn’t know the English language and know me at all and is in done fantasyland ?
