Here we have a Mexican Spec 1988 Chevrolet Suburban.
1988 was only the second year the modern Suburban was sold in Mexico and the first year it offered an automatic transmission.
Yes, that means that every 1987 Suburban sold in Mexico had a manual transmission.
Under the hood is a 350 V8, which was the only engine used in these trucks, linked to an automatic transmission.
The over all condition of this 37 year old truck is excellent.
The paint is nice and shiny and the interior shows minor wear on the front driver and passenger seats.
This truck features power windows and power locks. It has air conditioning in the front only.
The grille is actually a GMC model with a Chevy Bowtie in the middle. It should have Sierra Classic emblems on the front fenders, but they are not there.
This is the grille Chevrolet Mexico used on these trucks.
At the back the truck features barn doors. They have one negative, being they make it harder to see out the back, and one positive which is it is easier to load the rear compartment as you are closer to the truck than with a tail gate.
The truck is riding on after market wheels which look good on Square Body trucks.
It comes with its original invoice as the ownership document so you can trace the ownership history from day one.
A few odds and ends are needed on this truck like the drivers door pull strap. That is easily found and purchased.
Considering what a new Suburban costs, this is a bargain and will outlast any of the new ones and of course cost less in maintenance.
Here is the break down on the cost of the vehicle. The vehicle itself will be $8,500 dollars. Transport from where it is to the Nogales Arizona border $950 dollars for a total of $9,450. This vehicle is way down south in the country so a bit of the cost is bringing it to the border. We are paying almost $6.00 US per gallon of gasoline or diesel.
