Let's head West for a change and look back across the valley from the other side.

What do you think? Is the VoiceOver better or live audio recording?

Voice over is better, can hear you more clearly. :)

This was really enjoyable and I watch a few motovloggers who do voiceovers exclusively but I also tend to forgive the imperfections of live audio.

GREAT video. Voice over is very enjoyable because your voice is clear and calming , not trying to shout over engine and wind noise. Like it alot . Thanks for another scenic ride. Mark from Maryland

Another great video, thanks. I live in the UK and I’ve not seen Virginia before. ( TV and cinema only seem to show Texas, California or New York ). It’s really beautiful. You’re lucky to live there.

Great video. I enjoyed hearing the motor sounds. You get a completely different sound riding. Apparently I don't go as easy on my 2022 as you lol. Keep up the great videos, voice over is a win!

Excellent work. As someone said, you’ve upped your game with this one. I have family in Roanoke, so I’ve been around this area some. Great riding roads and beautiful small towns-even if you stay on pavement.😊

I absolutely loved this video! 1. The voice over with the sound of the Himmy as the background was perfect. 2. Living in Roanoke, I worked for many years selling industrial equipment in the area (paper mills, VMI, the RR tie treatment pant, etc.) so Goshen Pass was a favorite lunch spot in my travels. 3. You’re wearing a Gearhead Junction tee! Say Hey to Terry and Lori for me. 4. I just sold my 310GS and I’m now hankering for a new bike. The Himalayan was always high on my list. I went with the 310 bcs I found a great deal on a used bike and was able to attend the BMW-MOA rally in Richmond last summer; what an amazingly fun experience! Plus it was fun to be there with my biker-muse who ride a R1250GS (and a Touareg 660). 5. I’d love to buy you lunch to deep dive a bit on RE, your vids, etc. PM me if that’s feasible. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it, just waiting for the weather to do more riding videos. I don't believe RU-vid has a PM function anymore, which is silly because it makes simple things like your request difficult. I might be filming a video at Gearhead Junction, I need to call Terry and see if I can set something up. I sold this Himalayan a while back and now have the Continental GT.

I like the voice over . Good video voodoo . At that beginning of video where you wiped your goggles , did jaboo do the voice over for you with the squeeking sound ? Sounded kinda like a HEN turkey call . 🤣

Uncle V, I’m pretty flexible but I was thinking about getting together when it’s a bit warmer. I plan on replacing my recently sold 310GS with a Himalayan probably in March. Thanks, Andy

I personally enjoyed the voice over with the motor running in the background. Your voice came through clear as a bell. I do have to turn up the volume to hear your audio as it appears to me to be set low for the video. Not a complaint, just an observation. Great job, as always.
@UncleVoodoo
@UncleVoodoo Год назад
I don’t doubt that not all of it came out great- voice audio was recorded 5 different ways. Do me a favor and give me a timestamp where you thought it was low so I can id the recording method. I’ve already eliminated 3 methods that I won’t use again, just want to see if it is in fact one of them.

@@UncleVoodoo 06:00 , other than that, when you static filming and not talking at the camera, the audio was tad muffled. As soon at you turned the camera on yourself, clear as a bell. I hope that helps. Eric

@@KrakensGarageandAdventures It does, thanks. That was one of the things I noticed when editing- how much I was tweaking the audio when I used a directional mic and turned the camera to show something. I am going to use a lav mic going forward for those shots so the audio doesn't change. It was worse when I was at the cliff and I really had to dig into my bag of editing tricks to get that footage usable. It was so bad I probably just over looked the segment you mention since it wasn't "as bad".

I just went back to the previous video to compare and I have no problem with the audio. If you could, maybe combine the two but more work for you. Thanks for another great video/ride.

It really starts showing up above 30mph or so, I used some noise canceling software to try and isolate my voice in the previous couple of videos. In the Super Cub adventure video I didn't need it as the airflow is different on that style of bike. It's not just the Himalayan either- I went through tons of footage of similar bikes (Tenere 700, Desert X, etc) and was able to find the same issue. It seems all of the rally style adventure bikes with the tallish front end do it.
