Congratulations on the W and a 2nd. You got through 1&2 better and he got you on the top in 3&4. What a good race. Your a better competitor than me if I built a ump car and was told don't worry about it. If the car couldn't come back neither would I. Just keep beating them with the imca car. Maybe you can run some Mars modified series later in the season with the ump car.

Collin great run. My brother and built a IMCA mod back in the 80s with a corvette front sub and we sold it before we had a chance to run it. Well the guy bought it and won a track championship at Merritt and they outlawed it the next year because the rear steering
If you'd like to race in Canada there is a dirt track about an hour away from Detroit called Southern Ontario Motor Speedway. They run UMP modifieds every Saturday night.
That was a good feature. I’d go out of my way to go race elsewhere for a few weeks if possible. Seems they should have to tech it and have a reason for a DQ…I don’t know.
Thought it was kind of a dumb idea to begin with to have a ump/imca class. Should’ve just been one or the other in my opinion. But would like to see ya at 96 Friday night or crystal tomorrow night! Best of luck wherever you go

Thanks for following along. Yea they made us add weight put a 6800 chip in and take our spoiler off to level the playing field. But i guess that wasnt enough haha!

You Tube has been a MAJOR cash influx for them. I personally think they overstepped with the series and channel all at once. Please don't misunderstand, still a big fan. i drew a 3 and a 32 at a track this year and started dead last in both heats, they watered it right before one of the heats and the other one was on us. some of these tracks act like were children and wont notice they give people an advantage if theyre a name. fuck em man cant stand how some tracks are ran.
Great driving but I know what you mean about pissing the others off especially if you come to a track for the first time and lap the field. It may not have been so bad if we were in a Chevy like almost everyone else but after a couple of weeks they b cursing the crap out of you after welcoming you the first time but if you don’t let them win you will have to fight.

Curious, why do leaders start by themselves and 2nd and 3rd start side by side? Wouldn't you think that's a unfair advantage giving the leader the jump like that? I'm a long time asphalt guy. Been slowly trying to learn some dirt stuff but never understood that.
So basically they used to run ump and imca. They didnt want ump anymore so they allowed the ump cars from last year to race in the imca class with some changes to slow the ump cars down. I expressed to both track and imca that this would not work and they both said it will be fine. So me and a customer of mine ran our cars twice and was told we cant bring them back.
I'm with Mama. Raced imca 16 years and finally went outlaw mod racing this year with a local touring series and I'm having a blast. IMCA needs to rethink there line ups.
The big thing would be to look for a local racer and offer to help out and learn all you can. Once you get to a point where you got all the basics coveted there is a lot of traveling teams always looking for help.

I love your attitude man. Race with anybody and figure out how to beat them on the track. Hats off guys.
They made a set of rules for us to follow but apparently some other competitors complained enough that mine and a customer of mines car was too fast so they banned them.
😂 Yes I remember why I stopped going to IMCA sanctioned events is just for reasons like what happened with you. It is even more laughable due to the fact you haven't even been racing the car. (It definitely comes across that people need to go do something else if all they are going to do is complain about what other people have, even though that person being yourself hasn't even used the item of their outrage. Not to mention this sport is called racing, not winning or whining in their case.)
I know the feeling. Was racing TQ midgets yrs ago, got one banned cause I built it with the motor on the side (like a go-kart) and not in the front. It was TOO good and others were being built, they would have taken over, so they had to get rid of them. They changed the rule to say that the motor must be in front of your knees. So I built my next car that way but everything else was very radical, that got banned too until I made some changes to it. Now there is a rule in the book about "new and radical design". Ha Ha, MY RULE
My father and one of his brothers built a straight 6 roadster in the 1950's that got effectively banned for being too good. Modified a torque tube rear axle to shorten the torque tube to the point where the transmission connected directly to the rear with a single U-joint and the axle's pivot point was at the U-joint. Dad's older brother Carl was the driver, dad was mechanic and car builder. With the engine and transmission so far back, Carl's legs straddled the back of the engine. Practically unbeatable in its class. The racing organization demanded to be told all the secrets to Dad's rear suspension and drive design. He declined to tell because of course they'd share it with other teams they preferred to win. So they said the car had to run in the next higher class VS the V8's, which of course it couldn't keep up against. The car got retired and Carl quit racing.

Wow. I say Boycott Meritt Speedway. The owner is a coward. If He was a real Man He would stand up and tell the ones bitching, " The car passed inspection and it's legal, if you don't like racing against fast competition then take up bowling or golf"!!!
Im not going to boycott. Its a place to race and i have a car to race there. Its just unfortunate some of the other racers feel the need to complain so much.

They've been tech'd and tore down to the bare block but Never have they been banned. I gotta say though, I am referring to an area that has 5 tracks all within an hour in any direction.
Is this the same race night and track that popped a bunch of racers for deck height after there was a bounty on the 21 car? Either way its bs if they are telling racers not to bring their cars even if they cannot find a reason through tech to back that decision.
It Is Funny that when rules are set, there's ALWAYS some cry-babies. I always Liked racing a couple of the stand-outs and when I figured out how to beat em, they would come down to try n figure out how slow me down and I'd Laugh. Sounded like the track had no grip. Just idling through the turns and trying not to break loose on the exit to the straight. I'm guessing the crate engines have an advantage over the open ones in this. Don't know what your lower control arm issue advantage was
Regulation nation I hate that for people you and others that are exploring and trying different ways to make things better and faster and others crying cause they dont want to do nothing to make things better they say they can't afford to have that stuff so they make them rules for them guys they need a class that run what you bring open to what ever
I have in previous videos but basically the fact they combined 2 classes and they all were saying it wasnt fair and i shouldnt be able to run my car. Even though it met the rules they put out.
I ran it a couple times.. ran up front with it. No different than i did with the bone stock imca car. Followed the rules they gave us but apparently the people that race there didnt want us to keep racing it
It is what it is at this point we figured it was going to happen at some point just not this soon. Too many tracks are closing up and its closest track to home. So we try to support it.
We all want to support our local tracks but when they make it harder on you to come and race and get out. Do a good job at it and make it more expensive on you. How's it fair it should be a given take
