Notation key:
• LMHS - Light, Medium, Heavy, Special
• Number pad notation: If you look at the number pad on your keyboard you might see arrows on 2, 4, 6 and 8 (down, back, forward and up, respectively). We abbreviate each directional input with the corresponding number from the number pad to keep notation short and sweet. 2M means down + Medium, 236M means down, down+forward, forward + Medium.
• "j." implies gotenks is in the air doing a jump attack.
• If you see an input that is squeezed between two brackets like so: [H] This is meant to show that the button is held longer than normal. It can also affect directional inputs like gotenks' j.[6]S

Yoooo thank you so much for making this video bro!!! I just picked up gotenks 2 days ago and I'm having so much fun with him. Now I have a better understanding of his rejumps! Every one else on RU-vid failed to mention that u have to hold the light button to beyblade to get the rejump. I can't wait to practice this. Hey do u think gotenks is top 5? I want ur opinion..

Thanks for watching! I have only been playing gotenks a short time but I do think he's very good, I don't know about top 5 though. Top 5 is probably... Ui Goku, Kid Buu, ZBroly, Bardock... and the last is a tossup between Piccolo, Teen Gohan, A21, Base Goku and Base Vegeta. I think Gotenks is good and might deserve to be in that tossup spot as well but he doesn't have access to a few tools I think makes a top 5 character. He's certainly annoying though lmao.

I have a lot of trouble cancelling the first hit of miracle punches 💀, and when I do land it I mess up the dash medium. This combo is killing me

It is super tight so don't think you're alone. It all comes down to practice! if you are driven enough you can do it I promise you!

Off the 5h I use the 214s then u choose if u have assist do rejump if u don't use ghost oki super the ghost hits u sd then ll with m in the middle 2h jump sd for solo skd midscreen off 5h also offer vanish this works aswell

I have a doubt. There are different versions to the 5h combo, is the one you do the most damaging one? instead of 3 L hits I do 2 hits, j2H into jLL and the specials. Obviously you're hitting 4 jLs more than I am but that also means that yours scales harder for the rest of the combo right? so I'm not sure if is should stick to my ways or do yours.

@@Conmystro No problem, mate! I have played him somewhat a couple months ago, but not that much lately no. His new combo routes with the latest patch piqued my interest though, so I was thinking of learning them at the back of my mind for a couple weeks now. Now that I have a nice guide here I might just do it one of these days!

There are a few reasons I chose to start off with Gotenks. Firstly, when season 3.5 came out he was one of only a few characters to receive new combo routes. I wanted to capitalize on the people searching for those new combos. Secondly, unlike other characters in this game, he can do these combos meterlessly without any assists so it doesn't depend on having a specific assist or even a specific type of assist. If I were to make another combo video I would try to do it for a character with very recognizable bnb solo combos like Cell, or Adult Gohan, but even they normally rely on the corner for their flashy extensions.

I hated gotenks from Season 1 through 3 but when they gave him cool combos I changed my mind lol

Does it not work without the double jump at 2:21 ? It looks like a normal jump

In that example you are using the up-forward motion to cancel out of gotenks jumping attack into another jump, a double jump, and then going into another attack. If you mean super jump, if I mentioned them, they are necessary.

I can connect the 236 M and 214L but for some reason i can never connect the rejump , no idea what’s going on

the 236M has to be cancelled fast enough so that it only connects one hit, any longer and the rejump will not be possible. Are you able to move with gotenks after 214L test this by holding up and seeing how soon gotenks jumps after beyblade. If done correctly gotenks should kick for fewer frames than normal, use the video for comparison.

@@Conmystro I can’t post videos if I do then it would be me recording me screen. I’m doing everything right until the punches (like idk if I’m getting 2 instead of 1) I feel like I’m doing it right and then the combo drops before I can do my dash jump or dash 5M

@@uzifan88 hey dude be strong and patient, stick to the training. I've been trying to do them for months. Several days of 5+ hours of straight up just training mode and just now I'm getting to a semi consistent state. I think I've encountered every mistake you can make in this combo lol. For you specifically I would say that you're probably doing the L version of the punches accidentally without noticing or you're not dash jumping at the right time.

I did have issues connecting this on every character so I assumed it was character specific and chose to leave it out but it is good to know you're right.
