Gotham Knights Is Embarrassing Even For the CW | PILOT REVIEW 

So tired of all the Batman shows without Batman 😔

I honestly didn't think the CW was a thing anymore.

Honestly if they wanted to do this they should have done an adaptation of “We are Robin” its a story about a bunch of teenagers using Robin as a revolutionary figure. It has the teenage characters, it can have riverdale style drama and they are all vigalantes and actively hunted by the police so you can keep that aspect. Plus most of the characters in the gang aren’t famous or popular aside from Duke Thomas so not only do they not have to worry about fanboys getting upset about versions of there favourite heroes but also the CW can just plop there own characters in the gang and no-one will particularly care.

Jason Todd figured out how to dismantle the Bat-mobile in minutes. Tim Drake was an orphan who was able to deduce the identity of Batman by himself before he knew him. Turner Lives with Bruce Wayne for how long and couldn't out shit. No wonder they didn't include the other Robins, this kid would have looked like more of an idiot by comparison.

Hey Thorias, your review of the first episode of Batwoman is what drew me to your channel...an example of the rare time the YT algorithm does something right. Just a thank you for the hours of entertainment and countless number of laughs your reviews have brought. And let's keep those reviews of Gotham Knights coming!

Everyone: CW shows are really bad and normally don't get to any type of point. CW: After giving it careful thought... We have decided to become worse!

The CW writers killing Batman is like a fetish at this point. They have killed Kevin Conroy's live-action Batman (A stunt which still makes my blood boil to this day) and Gotham Knights Batman, and we still have no confirmation of what happened to Batman in Batwoman. Then they add lines like "Bruce gave into his darkness" or some shit, which only proves they don't understand Batman as a character even more. Batman is a hero who turned his own pain and grief into something good, a symbol which gives hope to the people of Gotham that is hellbent on making sure no one else has to go through what he did. That no other 8-year-old becomes an orphan. Bruce Wayne is a good man who never gave in to Darkness, and who channelled his pain into accomplishing something far bigger than himself.

NEVER forget the CW Creed: "If the show is BAD enough, we'll renew it for THREE seasons!"

After batwoman. I could see him turn into the actual joker.

Man, I had a great time watching this with a friend. Everything was done so badly, I really thought I've seen the worst but I now know I've only scratched the surface of how bad entertainment can be. RIP Cw, you will not be missed.

So just to be clear: There's once again no Batman (killed off in less then 10 minutes), no Alfred, no other recognisable characters from the Bat Family like Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl or Red Hood, none of Batman's Rogue Gallery and as far as we know no Gordon. And instead our main characters are people that aren't from any of the comics and are wholly original to this show? The fact this show even made it to the planning stage let alone filming is mind-blowing.

The fact that Superman and Lois is on the same network and manages to be as good as it is just amazes me

I don't know if the reason they couldn't have Damien Wayne or Dick Grayson as the main character was. Because the higher ups gave them any permission to use Batman or any other Batman characters like the Robins. But if you can't make a Batman TV show with Batman or any of his characters then make something original. And if you're going to try to get a famous character fans would know and like and treat it with some GODDAMN RESPECT.

Sure, a normal man could withstand Batwoman, She-Hulk, the Rings of Power, and Velma individually, but he subjected himself to all of them for our entertainment. CW refuses to take a hint in pleasing the true fans and audience. They'll never learn when to stop being so woke.

From what I could actually watch I described Turner as a Dick Grayson sonic fanfic oc with none of the charisma and the personality of Teen Titans Go Robin and the emotional intelligence of a snapped twig.

They really cancelled Stargirl and kept Gotham Knights and fucking live-action Powerpuff Girls (no, they didn't cancel that yet)

If Thorias can survive three seasons of Batwoman, this show will be child’s play.

Honestly, if there IS a place where a child would be raised among dangerous criminals, it's Arkham Ayslum in Gotham City. That much feels potentially comic canon.

Let’s not kid ourselves. This show is definitely getting more than a season. Somehow batwoman got 3 with low ratings and negative initial reception, and the flash has 9, even though it should’ve been cancelled after season 3, and season 9 is looking to be the worst one yet after they absolutely butchered red death and ended that in like 3 episodes

Hey, that guy may be a criminal, but the cop is NOT allowed to be a dick to him! That's how it works, right? Also, Cullen Row is gay in the comics, not transgender. I don't know which is MORE offensive: the changing of his status as an LGBT individual to fit a scene (is gay not "diverse" enough now? Let Cullen be himself), or the cringeworthy writing in the scene that brought attention to Cullen's gender. A better writer would have just brought Cullen in a later episode as a trans character allied with Harper and let his gender identity simply exist as a facet of his overall characterization, but NOOOOO, corporations just have to tell the audience, "LOOK, trans person! We care, see!? Please like our product!"

From what I understand, Cullen Row in the comics is Gay, but not Transgender. Really feels like they only made him Transgender in the show is so that the writers can say "Officer Transphobe is a villain". Harper occasionally shows up and is a vigilante called "Bluebird", but her appearances are so few and far between, I doubt the casual Batman viewer even knows she exists.

I think that it is ironically hilarious that CW claims they want to promote diversity, but then ignore Damian Wayne, Batman’s half Middle Eastern son in order to have their boring white boy OC be in their main cast.

It's strange to be a Batman fan at this time. Your relationship with Star Wars is my relationship with Batman. It's my oldest memory and my fondest IP. Sometimes, I'm spoiled with something great like The Batman from last year, and then I get something like this. I can rewatch the Nolan films, but Batwoman will always exist. And I'll always be an outcast on the Batman subreddit because I enjoy Gotham (mostly for Cameron Monaghan). If there's one thing I was curious about with this show, tho, it was Misha Collins as TwoFace. I just started watching Supernatural, and I think if Gotham Knights had better writing, he could be one of my favorite takes on the character, up there with TellTale and Broken Promise.

Turner intentionally crashing the transport would actually make some sense had the police been winning the fight. But that would make sense, so they obviously couldn't do that.

Here's something to think about Thorias: Batwoman got three seasons before it was cancelled. With all the boxes that are being ticked now, how many more seasons do you think this will get?

People with too much pride, people who don't take time for introspection, people who don't care what anyone thinks they do, even if it hurts them on some level, these are the kinds of people producing shows like these. They aren't making these shows for the purpose of making money; These shows are made in the name of vanity, made for the peers of those in the same cult as the showrunners, and not made with the audience in mind. It doesn't matter what they say about the fact that this show is for their peers and not the audience, because "of course they'd say that", and any claims that they're making shows like this for diversity, it's not for the audience because their peers and their savior's complex DEMAND that these shows be made WITHOUT the public in mind. When you're an activist, the public can't be considered because of what the orthodoxy requires of the woke individual, meaning that the public is more akin to being in the way than what makes the scenic view rewarding. This show is for no one. How could it be for anyone when it was made by vain people?

I laughed at the absurdity of a child not being put in foster care and raised in Arkham....but thhen again, this is Gotham City, the same city in the same state that does not allow the death penalty for mass murderers like the Joker because the plot needs him to constantly escape so Batman can catch him. And nobody on this show can act. I am guessing this is being filmed in Canada where they get huge tax breaks for hiring local actors, so they must have scoured amateur acting classes and hired these kids with minimal talent to maximize savings. Finally, the Gotham Knights game, for all it's faults, at least established the four main characters with an emotional tie to Bruce Wayne ...both in and out of costume....andade Batman die doing what he does best, not die like some movie villain by being pushed out of the window of his own office. I guess they deserve points for featuring a heterosexual love scene in the first episode, but hey, i bet Stephanie will get it on with the bisexual chick at some point....

I would like to thank Warner Bros. for putting this show out so that I can enjoy your funny rant takedowns of it Thorias. This is going to be hilarious. You’ve got your work cut out for you.

The moment they introduced Joe Chill's gun and made it the _fecking_ _murder_ _weapon,_ I think I realized that this truly was the spiritual successor to Batwoman in terms of writing quality. Someone with knowledge of Batman, modest writing skill, and the brainpower to handle walking and breathing at the same time would have said "Bruce Wayne keeps the gun that killed his parents in his office? What? No. No, that's fecking stupid." Easy improvement that I thought of in about 10 seconds after seeing that scene: rip off Batman Begins, and make it the gun that Bruce almost used to _kill_ Joe Chill before being intercepted by Rachel and a League assassin doing the job for him. Wouldn't that have more significance? Killing Chill would have been Bruce crossing a line that Batman swore he never would, and the fact that he narrowly avoided becoming a killer by giving in to his hate would be of pretty big importance to him. Hell, it would even justify why the gun was loaded: it would still contain the bullets that he almost fired in anger, but did not. Meanwhile, we have Bruce just casually keeping the gun that killed his parents in his office safe, and...keeping it loaded? What? WHAT Honestly, that's one of the details that I find the most infuriating. But then again, in addition to being terrible writers, I'm sure that nobody in the writer's room has ever held a real gun before, much less fired one. I imagine they just assume that guns always have bullets in them by default, so it probably never even crossed their mind that they implicitly had Bruce Wayne _load_ _the_ _gun_ _that_ _killed_ _his_ _parents._ And of course, it looks fresh out of the box, so I guess he's also been cleaning and oiling it for decades.

Everything about this sounds like bad fanfiction: the edgy teenage OCs who are related to big characters but have the maturity of twelve-year-olds, evil authority figures, hacking into every bank at once, breaking into Wayne Tower like its nothing, Batman dying immediately so the OCs can take over, the mind-numbingly easy-to-find Batcave, the one good cop who acts super friendly. It's all there, and I can't stop laughing at it. Edit: Also, the recycling of plot elements from other bad fanfictions. That one's a classic.

It's like the CW copied and pasted the title from the actual game (which had a terrible launch btw) and made they're own their own version of Gotham Knights. But this one was terrible; not even the game was this bad. As a matter of fact (and this is going to set some people off) I'll happily take the Gotham Knights game over this crap anyday.

Here's a theory for the season, what if Bayman faked his death because he's getting too old to be Batman anymore, so Bruce and diverse female Alfred who is Alfred's daughter, make a wager that if his son can "bring his killer to justice he gets Bruce's wealth otherwise diverse female Alfred gets his wealth. The Gcpd are in on it out of respect for all of Bruce's contribution to Gotham City. The only snag in Bruce's plan is the involvement of the court of owls

Why kill off Batman in every show related to him? It is obvious. This is the problem of all mediocre fanfiction authors: they need to remove the original protagonist from the forefront and put the "right" characters there, but there is not enough talent for this. More than likely the batwoman writers were commissioned for season 4 due to the failing upwards model and outrage marketing. However batwoman was finally canned but oh no the writers were contracted for one more season/project. Take the buyout and fire them, I could understand if production was too far along by the time Zaslav took over but still.
