Gotham Knights - Solve the Puzzle in the Powers Club (OWL LIGHT BIRD PUZZLE) 

This is a good example of how not to put a puzzle in a game

Puzzles should be banned forever from video games

Only now figured it out but you don’t even have to look at the wall, just look at the gears beneath the table and keep switching them until the yellow line connects all of them.

Really felt confident when I first started the puzzle but fuck me this helped

I'd like to use this as an example that puzzles in games are unclear, tedious and annoying and need to stop being put into games that are not puzzle based.

However designed this 'puzzle' should be fired.

When I did this, a voice spoke part of a rhyme when a piece was in the right position, so basically, I just rotated each piece til I heard the voice, then moved to the next. I was stuck on this before I realized that & had to reload it to see

How tf were we supposed to figure this out without tedious trial and error

I never played this game but holy hell the quality of life in this puzzle is terrible. It takes multiple seconds to activate a turn (with an annoying sound effect) and then it takes several seconds to actually turn. The switches are on opposite sides of some giant oval, so the player will be running around this table for a long ass time. The goal of the puzzle is also unclear and it's hard to see how it's supposed to be facing a certain direction.

Absolutely ridiculous, my owl wasn't even in the same spot as this video when it unlocked. Great game, unfair puzzle 💪🏻.

This video doesn't show this but it's a pattern you turn the first one 1 time, second one 2 times, third one 3 times and the 4th one 2 times so just remember 1232 everytime you do it it's super easy you don't even have to look at the wall or owl

Puzzle game enjoyer here. Almost everyone that came to this video had completed the puzzle, the answer was supposed to be "aha! It's the shadow of owl holding a fish", but the actual part of progressing is absurdly badly designed. Good puzzle design: Implementation of already knowing mechanics + an unknowing resolution / attention to hidden-in-detail hints / if the logical thinking of the answer is achieved, actually getting to the answer should be fast and easy. Bad puzzle design: Trial and error (randomly turning the gears until you get the poem 'hint'), multiple logically correct answers but only 1 accepted (you could do the shadow to the left too, but it doesn't work), getting to the answer you have in your mind is hard and takes too long (clunky interaction with the badly positioned levers)

How is this even a puzzle? It's just random placement until it is "right". There's no technique or anything. Dumbest part of the game so far.
