@@lordtea7688 i'm having a 3h33m video ab the mythology behind Hades recommended right to the side of this comment (: i've been noticing more monumentally long video essays recently (or n hours of facts type videos), and its always like 70% videos b/w 10-35min and 15% videos over 2h, and its barely ever anything in-between tbh i'd naturally watch a 10-35min video sooner or immediately rather than an hour+ long one that i'd need to either split or find REALLY enough free time (background works but if its actually a video it's surely a more complete experience to watch it), even tho i'm always super excited and impressed, they end up in my watchlist for longer than intended. the former is just mentally easier to grasp before actually clicking on the video big ups on your videos essays and the work u put into them! never thought of Gothic games from such perspective

@@bosobot Well i never though about those games myself before. It's just i was curious why did i feel so immersed in them so much while i can't in most other rpg's. So i decided to look for the reason :) And as for longer ones, well i really do like them i am a fan of Mauler's critique vids or even Patrician 6-9-11h videos about Elder scrolls :D It's just take A LOT of time which i od not have since i also have a 9-5 and 2 other projects going on in the background and i am not counting youtube

Huh, i actually tried that and it worked... Funny that, i specifically decided to walk off because i thought that a jump will be unfair - increasing the chance of fall damage.

@@lordtea7688 It's such a cool hidden little detail. I think the rationale is that when you jump it's controlled and intentional, but when you walk you "fall" off uncontrollably. It's the same in Gothic 1, but not really useful thanks to the strafe bug. I always loved jumping off the top of the Old Mine and landing on the smelter at the bottom.

Thank you very much. -Well the wine thing is not entirely true. Wine is by definition made of grapes but some definitions do add "mostly from grapes" but then that would just make it alcohol overall because alcohol is fermentation of natural sugars. Beer ferment natural sugars from malted grains. Mead is made of fermented sugar from honey. Whiskey is made of natural sugars from malted barely... And we do see the pink/purple colour of wine in the cauldrons when the acolytes smash it. -The merchant specifically says that they jumped* And i don't think he has any reason to lie. :)

20:00 We know it's not a lie since there is a quest to take back a piece of his stolen cargo. The reason why it's such a strange quest that seems unreal (especially when you add the fact that there are sekeletons next to the cart - how long does a corpse turn into a skeleton?) because it was added by the expansion. In the vanilla game it's just a piece of enviromental storytelling. And as for the grapes, khorinis does not look like an island with a climate that could grow grapes... well at least if you ignore the expansion.

Would love to at some point, however i played it only once and i would like to re-play it as a stream when i'll have more subs, then after that make a vid on it. G1 and 2 i've beaten like 4-6 times so i have a pretty good understanding of those games. I experience not enough Archolos to do it for now.

Yes, it jest
