The funny thing is I completely missed out on his downfall until quite recently. I kinda of stopped following these retro RU-vidrs every since I got married and moved out of my parents so I had no idea he had lost his freaking mind. The last thing I actually followed was when he was kicked out of Channel Awesome, but them I thought he continued to do fine on his own.

I enjoyed Spoony for awhile but he was starting to become a jerk and cynical... But I dont hate him because I always though that maybe he had some kind of emotional or mental issues that were unchecked, and then the amount of hate messages he got probably started to get to him. I do hope hes okay now though

That IT Crowd joke is particularly tired, overused, and annoying tho. So I share Spoony’s feelings on it.

The thing you have to remember about someone who is bi-polar (as I've heard he is) is this is how they act. They can turn on a dime and if they feel attacked or cornered they're going to respond in an overly aggressive way like this. More than anything he needs to get help, get on meds (or back on meds or have his meds changed) and get things together. Of course, it's also equally possible that the meds are the issue as I've heard a lot of people in his situation say the meds make it hard to think or do anything creative, which might be the issue with his getting videos done. I'm tempted to wonder why the people in his life can't help him but I've had to deal with someone who seems to have been in the same situation himself and I know it's really hard to do that especially when they fight you on getting that help (sometimes litterally, I had a knife pulled on me and a death threat). It's really hard all around.

I really do miss the old Spoony and I have still have hope that one day and I know that I'm asking from too much, but I'm hoping that one day that we can get the old spoony back.

I don't think Spoony's a bad person to be honest. I think he like everyone else who was or still is a member of Channel Awesome, reached a point in his life where he's wondering what the hell he's doing. Most of these guys are in their 30s now with some either in their 40s or nearing that with Jewwario being the oldest of them before his demise. Some people get over it and try to do something new and fresh. Others have yet to get over it and simply just need time and space away from their known projects, until they could come up with a means to getting back to where they were before. However the way he is handling that part, isn't very healthy either. This is just my speculation, I could be wrong, but I think the reason he's doing the livestream thing aside from making ends meet, is because doesn't want to go through whatever's been bothering him be it his work or personal lives alone. The guy's been through a lot. Even when he was still doing Experiment he became a net pariah over a badly timed joke, a fan of killed themselves, one of his closest friends also killed himself, he found out he has Type II Bipolar disorder after leaving things unchecked and has crippling depression. The latter of which was one of the contributing factors to said friend's suicide (among most things). But rather than go out like Carmical did, he insists on keeping going with what he's doing now until it kills him. Like Mozart to his unfinished requiem. Truth be told though I think this whole streak would end if he could afford to take a vacation. Whether it's a few hours at some amusement park or a masseuse or hell god forbid his fans who have been supporting him regardless of the changes would suggest or even start a vacation fund for him on Patreon or something. I don't think he's as bad as you see him or how he sees himself. I think he just needs a hell of a break.

Spoony was an absolute asshole. He promised stuff he knew he couldn't deliver. He ripped off hundreds of fans and supporters. His rudeness and downright disrespect toward his audience are legendary in the worst ways possible. And yet... If he uploaded a brand new review tomorrow, without even so much as an allusion to his past reprehensible behavior, I'd still rejoice. Because Spoony is a one in a million talent. And it's the most egregious of sins for him not to share that.

Not really sure why this was even needed or called for. Were seeing someone who had passion, and had a fairly healthy fan base. Burnt out, fanbase didn't support him burning out but instead kept harping on him to stay at his top level and keep going and keep going. So he got bitter, he got depressed, and he got disillusioned. This is a common issue here on RU-vid. Stuff like this sure as hell isn't going to help him find his passion and gain will to get back to form. Nor is it going to help him to understand that he could have reacted better. This is only going to further embitter him to ever coming back and being Spoony again for any of us. I UNDERSTAND there are reasons to be upset with him as a RU-vidr, and as a Patreon campaigner. However it would appear exactly no one is understanding the context or reason for these behaviors. In his case or any of the other RU-vidrs who have fell into this rut.

I love him anyway. The guy made me laugh like crazy numerous times and I still re-watch his video's from time to time, because they are entertaining. Yeah the way he treats his fans is kinda douchebaggy, but I really don't care. I'm not perfect either and have treated people like shit before, especially in high school. Bottom line, he gave me more than I ever gave to him, so I have no reason to complain about Spoony on any subject.

Spoony's always had a hot temper. I've never really had a problem with that, honestly. In fact, I always thought it was something kind of interesting about him. If you don't wanna get shit talked or blocked by Spoony, don't fuck with him. For me it's less about that, and more about the Patreon donations he's still getting despite having no consistent upload schedule.

Y'know... I was wondering why he seems so bitter and salty sometimes. Then I came to this video, and saw the comment section. I never knew, until now, why spoony censors his comments. I get it now.
