I own both the 16x, and the Nikola 100v ( also the msx) live and commute daily on an euc in nyc. For nyc life the 16x for me is by far a better wheel.. it gets up to speed quicker, it’s more nimble, and just easier to handle up steps, in stores etc. With the condition of our streets 30 mph is fine folks and even hard to achieve with all the daydreamers on their phones.. no need to over think any of this.
Man I'm right there with ya. My 16x is much more an everyday "city wheel". But the Nik has the bit of extra power when you wanna cut loose "after hours" lol.
Nice video! Fun to see you on the Nikola. You are a very good rider on the 16X and as you mentioned the Nikola+ 1845Wh has quite a boaty feel to it because of the weight distribution. It is equally hard and to push and pull the Nikola in all directions. The MSX is at least floppy on top and that allows for easier and quicker steering. The 16X is nimble in all directions CX tyre or not. The Nikola only feels faster on long straights but loses stability. The tyre is nice and cushy but wears out fast. The 16X is faster more often and gains stability at higher speeds with the CX tyre. I am guessing that the 1230Wh Nikola+ would be better balanced and more stable with a CX. Then we are stuck with a 20s4p config though which will ironically sag at the high speeds which are the strengths of the 100v systems. Irony everywhere we look! Both the 16X and the Nikola. In the end the Nikola is just a "smaller" MSX with different geometry. Let's see what the 100v 2200Wh MSX brings us.
Great looking video, again! Congrats! Every week, switching between MSX (more confortable because of stability), Nikola+ (awesome torque/speed and better handle than MSX for city) and 16x (pure awesomeness: great tire, great torque/accel, secure with lights/speaker, great handle).
Your video is very good. I hope that more people will know about electric unicycles as a means of transportation. It ’s so convenient that you ca n’t do without it.
If you own both than you own the best of both worlds! Gotway is definitely the Ferrari of EUC's but where speed is Paramount quality dips somewhat enough to warrent issues that have always plagued Gotway, while KS's quality is much Superior, they're a little overzealous on safety with limited and reduced speeds at 20% batt can be as annoying as that "decelerate" prompt! But as we search for the perfect wheel lets be thankful to these 2 makers for setting as free! The way I see it is they're like Burger King & McDonald's just got to decide which one to eat & which one to swallow! 😜👌
I cruise at 30mph most of the time. I don't really "need" 40+ top speed, I rarely go above 35. However, since I cut out once on my 84v MS3S+ (which cruises at 30 comfortably and can get close to 35), I wanted a wheel that I knew has headroom. The V12 was ideal for me, and except for the stability above 35 it is an excellent wheel.
I am so proud there is a channel about EV (EUC mostly) like this. I am EUC fan, but youtube content is very poor. Your channel is the best. Keep it up.
Lol you're funny man. Awesome video as always. Those shots though 👌 ***stability depends on the rider*** and you're right about it riding like a caddy. I had the same experience. I had the chance to ride the 16X aswell and it's way better in feel than the Nikola for sure
To his is a good comparison vid. I own the Tesla and someday it will be videos like this that will show minor differences in ride characteristics. Your music rocks too.
Love the production quality of your videos. Although I don't agree with all of your conclusions, I enjoyed the video and think you may have sold a few Nikola's :-) And wow, Chris really mounted the pads low, but I know he likes a wide stance so that makes sense. If they were higher you would have had a bit of a different experience.
ElectricUnicycles well i am sponsored by GotWay so... j/k thanks! Yeah my conclusion is I really enjoy that wheel. It’s in its own category. I know you like it more than the oh so controversial 16x haha. I’ve ridden other Nik’s since with no pads and thoroughly enjoyed those.
@@evXNYC Knowing Duf, you'll get his old NInebot :-) Well, I probably wouldn't be as generous as Chris and loan you a wheel for an extended period, but I'd loan you a wheel while I give you a tour of some real riding in the mountains ;-)
I really enjoyed your take on the wheel and loved the video's quality. Would it be worth mixing your voice overs a little louder or dropping the music into the background a touch to make it easier to hear you?
I'm getting a Nik+ for Christmas! It's weird how few EUC's there are that match my needs. I wanted a wheel capable of maintaining 30mph safely if required, it had to be reasonably nimble and I wanted a moderate range (50 miles tops), I'd like to be able to carry it up stairs at train stations etc. I'd of gone for the KS16X if it could maintain a higher speed with a big guy on board. I'd of gone for the KS18XL but I wasn't keen on the narrower tyre and it just seemed a high price for what's a 3 year old wheel. The V11 looks well priced for what it is but it's just too fragile for me and it's appearance makes it a bit more difficult to take into shops. Weirdly the Nik+ is certainly not a perfect fit either - it looks huge in comparison to my KS16S, I'll never use it's full speed, I doubt I'll even get close to the range limit, and I doubt I can even lift it without pulling my back but weirdly there aren't many other choices. Hey ho.
I am a big guy and own a 16x. I was torn between thus and Nikola +. I feel I made the best choice. First, I am 232lb and 240 dressed and geared up. I ride freq at 28-30mph with no issues. I ride it into work at the hospital and to stores all the time and the convenience and solid trolley handle makes the experience amazing. At 52lb it’s very tolerable to carry up a few flights of stairs which I do on occasion. The Nikola has a super wide handle and at 59lb, might be a bit cumbersome. This thing accelerates fast, is nimble, and quite stable at 29~mph. The 16x feels like a jack of all trades unless top speed over 30 is your game.
Please lengthen the length of your outro, You link two videos, I have time to read the titles, but not enough time to choose the video I would like to watch without rewinding and pausing the video to click the link. Thanks, and great work!
@@evXNYC because Im looking to upgrade from my 16s and nikola was a possible option but at the bottom of my list which I can now remove. I really want the 16x but I keep seeing issues on the forums. Biggest decision of my live 16x or 18xl lol. Which one do you like riding on ny streets?
Jed Tibon the 16x beats the 18XL on the streets anyday. I know it seems risky but i say buy the 16x and if there are any issues get your dealer to fix right away... instead of making videos about a broken wheel lol. It’s worth the chance.
@@evXNYC Just the words I wanted to hear from someone who owns both wheels hehe thanks again Mickey! I know most of these issues are just riders pushing their 16x to its limits. I like how you do yout videos by the way, the intro gets me pumped up haha. Will definitely say whats up to you next time I see at a group meetup/run.
What's your thoughts on the battery stuff? I ride normal ( gotway acceleration and braking , lol) but charge to full each time, no crashing or jumping, I'm a older fella. 2019 model
You got your facts wrong bout the Tesla, the Tesla is very stable at high speeds, also the 16S is not squirrely, it's nimble and very stable, I think you need more experience with those two wheels for you to understand. 👍
I've just sold my 16X to get a Monster v3 100V, got bored a little with it and wanted the ultimate stability of a larger wheel) You should make a monster review as well, should be fun
Yes, I see the guy who lend him the Nikola also had the Monster v3, so he may try that next, from the same guy. I sent you a PM on Facebook Demetri as I'm also ordering a Monster v3, so we may get a better deal ordering together.
Depends on the needs though. With the 16x or 18xl you can still combine the wheel and public transport. With the monster you go into a different territory. Maybe, as a long-distance cruiser wheel yes, but otherwise, too bulky for a city, I guess
WHAT HELMET IS THAT AND WHERE CAN I GET IT!?!?! I’ve seen 3 different people with that helmet and I DESPERATELY want one. I love that it’s just a smooth shaped, matter black helmet. Plus the reflective face shield instead of a see through one!
I just don’t like the way you started the video out by Am I leaving kingsong to got way that just don’t sound right to me unless it’s a sales gimmick but I love your videos don’t get me wrong your videos are awesome but that there was a little weird to me but anyway great video 👍🏼
wayne37fly i TOTALLY agree....this guy makes wheeling videos that are half “other stuff(instead of pure wheeling and/or wheeling info)” yet i still love watching the WHOLE thing(as opposed to other vids who would do that)because of great editing skills and great content....but that whole “click baity thing bugs me(unless he had REAAALLY loved to the point of...”
Nice vid brother, but dont you think that stability comes within feet being place equally on each peg. Not saying that you're not a good or experience rider. I just have that curiosity. Since I feel stability even on my tesla.
Hey. How do you like the video quality of the insta 360x ? You used that for your rolling shots right. I was interested , but most footage I've seen looks terrible. I always assumed people didn't have the right upload settings. The footage on your video looks great though.
To me both the design of the trolley handle and the exaggerated width of the handle make it an unpractical wheel for everyday use. Kingsong is just perfect in that regard. Wait until KS comes up with a 100v. Wahoo!
Hello Bro, I weight 235lb and my height is 6.33 ft . I want to buy a first new unicycle and was wondering buying this nikola plus 100v. But after this video I don't know anymore. What do you suggest. I don't want much speed. I will use to commute to office 5km distance. Inside city. will not use fast tracks. Please help me on this tough decision. Thanks . BTW .. congrats for the quality of your videos. All rox!
fair snap and good vid but really any of these wheels are never ideal at all applications or places ,,hell i have 7 wheels and all of them have a job..v5 ninebot one 16 lhotz 16 gortay msx ninebot 14 ..sure these are older wheels but i think the best all rounder is the lhotz 16
The Lhotz was my second EUC, almost 4 years ago, it definitely was great, but I would not come back to it now after trying the GT16, KS18L and Monster 100V 1845wh, the three have a lot more power. But sure, if its only for the city and traffic doesn't move fast, or you've lots of segregated cycle paths, no need for more power.
thank you for your answer .... just one last thing, you took medium, what is your head circumference if it is not indiscreet ... thank you for your answer and for your videos 👍😉
im on my third gotway wheel, gotway for life bros! i have a gen 1 monster, and im thinking what i should get, a nikola or stay with the monster. I love how stable the monster is, but its torque is not that great.
So confused here, "It drives like a cadillac or a boat" "A nimble wheel to take around the city" "It loses in every way to the 16x except speed" "I might have to leave kingsong" Which one is it? I have no idea what the takeaway from this video is. Sick footage though! Some of the best.
A lot of these wheels leave you with mixed emotions and feelings. But comparing it to my 16x at the time, it felt like a boat. But it’s still a 16” wheel so it’s more Nimble than an MSX. It does lose in every way except speed. But for me, i needed that speed. So i sold my 16x and got the Nikola 100v. Never looked back! If you watch my succession of vlogs you’ll see my wheel progression. Now i regularly hit 41mph daily on my Nikola and hey still have a relatively nimble wheel. Enjoy! Thanks for the love.
@@evXNYC My 16x gets here today, first wheel! Hope the learning curve treats me well, and that I don't find myself wanting more immediately. This makes sense and I still think I made the right choice. Thanks!
@@evXNYC why wouldn't you go with an MSX over the Nicola? the KS16X is my starter wheel, i've repaired it twice now :P but starting to think about what i want in a second wheel... and speed is something i am looking for as well, getting used to 25mph :P
Well my daily average speed is 35mph. Both the Nikola and MSX 100v can do that. But i chose Nikola for the amenities and 16x3 tire. I’m really liking that. But I’ll get MSX some day. Shell just sucks.
Voidroamer i mean they are here. Batt tech doesn’t evolve much. We just got the 21700 batteries in GotWay wheels. So the new Nikola 21700 1800wh is the new battery tech.
😅RU-vid recommended you, because I've been researching these electric unicycles as a feasible means of transportation with I visit my family in Barbados🤔. Now I am in lust with'um😍, so I watch y'all videos to get educated until I finally cop one💸💸.
They are loud enough. I have yet to have an issue. But i know some guys rig darkness bot to sound the alarms through the bluetooth in their wheel so its extra loud.
shayne caesar you can find a link in this video description for my helmet. If you buy it on that amazon link it helps me out a little. 🙏🏻 best of luck with your new helmet.
Hi, I would like to order your helmet. did you take the size corresponding to your head, or should you order bigger or smaller What is your head tone and the size of your helmet please TSG PASS 👍♥️
