GOULASH
1 lb. hamburger
2 14.5 oz. cans diced tomatoes ( Italian flavored is very good in this ).
4 - 5 tomato cans of water or enough to
make enough liquid for the pasta to cook
8 oz. package of pasta
Shredded cheddar cheese
In a dutch oven brown the hamburger until thoroughly cooked.
Add the tomatoes, water, and pasta and stir.
Cook on medium heat until the pasta is done.
Serve into a dish and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
If desired, grated parmesan cheese can be added as well as the cheddar.
BUTTER DIPS
Melt :
1/3 cup of salted butter ( or margarine ) in a 7X11 inch pan in oven.
Sift together in a bowl :
2 1/4 cups flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
Add 1 cup of milk and stir with a fork.
Roll out onto a floured board into a rectangle.
Cut into strips (approximately 1/2 inch wide ) to fit the pan.
Dip each strip on both sides in the melted butter and lay flat in the dish. There should be 2 rows of the strips.
Bake at 450° for 15 - 20 minutes
