The Bass player .. pure joy... the man is embarrassing this song... ❤ his in the party...so in tune.. so happy to see him so honestly grooving for everyone in there.
I love how Warren can be so articulate with that Les Paul and yet at other times get nasty with it. And his voice is so flowing with it all. I agree, how can anyone not like this song.
Apparently they have no taste for excellent music by some of the most talented men in the business!! MULE~RULE...And rock my world!!! "Best band in the land", in my opinion!!!
I was on the Warren Dead tours and he was absolutely magnificent, after seeing Jerry over 450 times I thought there was nobody that could do Papa Bear justice but this man can channel Jerry like no other ❤️⚡️💙
@@maryannsawyer7630Prince didn't. The first part of this perfiormance is a few bars of a Prince song.."When Doves Cry"...a beautiful song. Warren blended it in with Beautifully Broken. A perfect mix for sure.
@@bobbyfarrish2477the name of the song is Beautifully Broken and Warren Haynes wrote it. He just incorporated a piece of When Doves Cry at the very beginning and the very end in this live rendition. The original does not have Princes song anywhere in it.
❤ I got a snippet of this song when I saw the Mule sat DIRECTLY in front of Warren. I could touch his monitor I was so close. Beautiful evening. I took my son and baptized in Government Mule
Warren Haynes is one of the most underrated guitar players in the world, what are you plugged into example yeah actually plugged into his souls emotion
Like the memories that materialize occasionally, reaching inside my heart, breaking, or perhaps returning it, from the million pieces it seems, back into the whole that encompasses my being. Warren accomplishes that, for me at least, with this delicious, ever so familiar tune...
When I saw the Allman Brothers they had Richard Betts and that (at the time) 14 year old gun slinger Trucks playing slide and I just kept watching this big guy I'd never seen and never heard of ,I went home saying wow they had a stage just full of guitars. One of my favorites from that day on though was Warren,But it was hard to notice anybody else because I was a huge Johnny Winter fan from childhood! So glad I got to see him a few times,RIP JOHNNY YOU ARE MISSED.
No doubt. Allman Brother's , Gov't Mule, Warren Haynes band , Performing along side Zac Brown, Vince Gill,Grace Potter and manymore. Always unselfishly sharing the stage and complementing whoever. Absolutely one of my favorite's off all time.
Mysterious - blown in with the night All this beauty captured in a frame Visibly shaken but never stirred - drives them insane I see the way she plays her men - and I know I've got to know her name She's so beautifully broken - shaped by the wind Dangerously twisted - Here I go again I see the way she casts her spell - It's like drowning in moonlight Discards them when she's done - they're lost in her twilight I watch her move from star to star and I wonder why, Why it feels so right She's so beautifully broken - you can hardly see the flaw Especially from a distance - which is always how I fall Why do I fall for the dangerous ones - the ones that never learned to let go And why do I lie to myself and pretend that I can break her When she's already been so beautifully broken Why do I fall for the dangerous ones - the ones that Don't know how to let go And why do I lie to myself and pretend that I can break her When she's already been so beautifully broken She's so beautifully broken - shaped by the wind Dangerously twisted - Here I go again Here I go again
Beautifully Broken has always been such a meaningful song in my life. Its beauty is infinite..." A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness; but still will keep A bower quiet for us, and a sleep Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing." by John Keats
Probably my favorite live performance of all time. Tight groove. Incredible tone. Such crisp playing by everyone. Awesome energy with Mule coming back to play after losing Woody. This is live music greatness if you ask me.
My favorite version of Beautifully Broken, Warren kills it as always, but George Porter Jr on that bass was fucking awesome. Putting the funk in an amazing song

I came back a month later and it's even better than I remember! I loved Warren since I saw the Brothers in Gainesville Florida many years ago at the bandshell for free.
aye craig, she said & john the revelator, I like his work on dose. warren needs cohesive back up, esp w bass to stay in the pocket. JMO , observed from experience of vocalist w 2 gov mule intro bands. the guy is a warhorse. when he hears really good opening band, esp guitar, gets his mojo up and comes on loaded for bear. working w him is FUN.
Damn. That's the same George Porter jr who played on Robert Palmer's "Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley" back in '74. He has aged well. Still killin it.
Garry, "sneaking Sally through the alley/ when up pops the wife!/ so I began to try to explain/ that it just wasnt, just wasn't what she thought/now I'd better find something to do with my time because, fact is, I just been caught...." from the days when Robert Palmer was hanging out with Little Feat. But then came MTV and really awful videos like Addicted to Love, uggh.....
If you haven't heard him eatin his bass UP in live performance of Mule, just search Govt Mule - Mule! That bassline is so amazing..,all the way thru, that I couldn't even focus on Warrens slide the first time I listened. l had to hit repeat a few times to take it all in, lol. George and Marcus Miller, and John Entwistle..my favorite bass players.
Glad to FINALLY learn that I am not the only person who recognized the fact that Clapton/God played lead on The Beatles original recording of "While MY Guitar Gently Weeps ". Easy to hear the influences.FANTASTIC!!!!!!@!!@
Why did you leave me here standing, standing here out in the cold ? Sing that shit wait till he gets towards the end and he rocks out on that guitar 🎸 it will make your skin crawl , I love a guitar 🎸🎸🎸🎸 when someone knows how to make it scream there is nothing else like it !! Amazing
What a Brilliant Musician/Songwriter/Entertainer, caught him in Dallas in 2002, with Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks backed him up and does a respectable slide as well but Warren is THE MAN!!!!
