congratulations. how long did it take to build? I got my plans last April and am eager to begin building. butt am working out of town till the end of the year.
My friend Paul built the airplane over a span of 6 years. He did an absolutely gorgeous job. I have the privilege of flying it. The airplane flew beautifully from the very first flight. Where will you be building your's?
I know the designer adds some procedures to the instructions, but what's the flight characteristics and are there any things to watch our for (specific eccentricities)? also is there any specific training need that your insurance co required?
Insurance requirements depend on your experience, training, and profession, so that’s going to be different for everyone. As for the airplane: in pitch the plane is very light in force, pretty much neutrally stable, and the moment you think about applying finger tip force up or down she going there. In roll she is light and positive at low speeds getting progressively heavier as the speed goes up. The rudder is powerful and directional stability is positive. Rest your feet on the pedals and the plane goes like an arrow. Other than the minimum runway length of 4000 feet I don’t recall George mentioning anything. My test airport only had the 2000 foot runway available. It works just fine, but you can’t be 5 knots off on your approach speed. The far end of the runway will soon be the near end.
