If there is already one in your town is it worthwhile having a 2nd? Ie. when are they considered duplicitous? At what density?

The part many ppl r missing is that data brokerage is also decentralized. There are multiple companies that offer different ways and price points to access the data. Also, that in 1 year having 1 station could have paid for +3 years of coverage if ur were willing to take the risk 1 year ago. Thats not including superhexes which offer much more rewards due to demand in those areas.

@IndianaDrones I'm a fan of this concept, but right now owning this base station only gives you access to the RTK and Rinex data on the station you own, not the Rinex data and RTK data for any station on the network, correct? If so what is the incentive to buy one? Either way you would still need to pay $40 a month for a subscription for access to the network data, so I don't see the incentive to own your own base station?

To make money? Which can then be used to pay access to the network or spend how you want. Crypto easily converts to USD whenever you want

Was thinking the same. It was mentioned someone made a $5k return on one of these? What was the time lapse for that return? Anyone have one already and can give info what’s the rate at which they earn the said crypto and on what basis does that work?

@@mizer89 ofc. I got one 600 days so, now you receive 48geod wich now worths .22 cents/day. Need a clean install, free skyview 10° and stable wifi . Rocksolid gains.

We have 7 CORS network stations in South Carolina and I happen to be about 5 miles from one. We pay $600 + per year for access to that.

It may not be fore u. But the project's goal is dense global coverage. theres multiple options for access tho sense data sales are also decentralized. U can use geodnet coverage for $400/year. or u can buy a station and get free access to its rtk coverage from data brokers but u wont earn any tokens. Rock robotics and easynav both offer the free data access deal.

Yeah he did. The tokens halved recently so he was getting 96 a day. So (96 * 182 + 48 *182) * .35 == $9,156 I don’t know when he exactly set up. But this is a rough estimate of the value he could’ve reached. But this project isn’t about people getting in and cashing out. We actually want people to invest into the long term usefulness of the network to usher in the next generation of geospatial applications

I make good money every day with 10 stations I have setup throughout California. On the low end each station makes $10 a day easy.

@@CryptoNut82 -- Is the money you make based on the number of people using your corrections? If nobody uses a station for a month, do you make any money off it?

@@bokkenkait’s based on how many satellites your unit picks up in the sky. If over 30 sats then you get full reward of 48tokens a day, if lower the reward is less, if under 20 then 0. Just make sure unit is setup in an area where you can see the sky 360 around you

No. It's a passive signal from the satellite and this correction network in the video is a private/subscription service

? what kind of question is that? Who will benefit ? User has easy access to data allover the globe. Device owner has revenue for making a good install so the user gets high quality data. Answered your question?

The only issue is the frequency that the base station broadcasts RTK corrections to the rover. In the United States, a competing product uses the 902-928 MHz spectrum to comply with the FCC, however other countries have different requirements.

@@brad3378stations don’t broadcast anything, it’s transmitted via WiFi to the internet where the rover than connects to base through internet

For safety, military has the right to limit accuracy of GPS. Pilot for 42 years flying passengers. Government puts out advisory when changing accuracy of GPS. Safety is more important than taking pictures.
