Norwegian elkhounds are very kind, they will come to you with their ears back on their heas towards you when they have absolutely no reason for it,but they always want to prove that they are Friendly

Because the Norwegian Elkhounds are bred/breed to hunt Moose, they don´t care less about Elk or Wapiti, well, they can run after them for a wile, but are not so interested.
If they get a smell of a Moose as they are made to hunt, it becomes a entire different ball game!
If you let them loose in the woods,and if there is Moose around, the "Moose hound" will find it
They elkhound have Moose hunting in their genes,and they love it.
