GR COROLLA | Perfect OEM+ Fitment With Proper Wheel Spacers | Wheel Spacers
In this video I show and explain how to install wheel spacers on your GR Corolla to get the perfect OEM+ look and fitment. This same procedure can be used on any car to get similar results. While I look for some wheels I like I wanted to do this so the OEM wheels fill the wheel wells better.

I'm not a fan of stacking spacers though. If you like the extra poke I would get a spacer that is the size of the 2 spacers combined. If you are going to lower it though you might have to remove the 10mm OEM spacer if it pokes too much and rubs.

Yours is a little different since it doesn't have the wide body kit that mine has. I'm guessing that you have a GR Sport model in Europe somewhere? If so have you seen other install spacers on your same model. I think it's the same body as the standard Corolla hatchback? If so, my first guess would be about the same, as in 15mm spacers all around but you can also measure the space you have from the inner fender to the tire. Use something thin and flat and lay it over your tire/wheel and use it to measure from there to the inner side of the wheel well.

Always happy to inspire others! 😍 It would depend on the wheels that you got as to what you needed to do. I got a set that was the same exact size as my OEM wheels that I use for my winter tires so I didn't need to remove my spacers every time. I'll be doing a video on my brake pads when I replace them. I'll be picking up some EBC Yellowstuff pads in the near future. I'll plan on doing a brake fluid change down the road too but I'll do that after Toyota does a free one for me at 20k miles. Not at stock ride height but they will poke a little bit. the 15mm front / 25mm rear is exactly even but if you run 245/40R18 tires on the stock wheels there is a chance of minor rubbing with an aggressive drop so keep that in mind.

Hey Jim, I found your video through the GRC forum and I have a few questions... 1. For the 15mm spacers you linked, I read some reviews about people complaining about snapping the studs when torquing down to spec. Have you had this issue? 2. Do you think the studs on these spacers are long enough to accommodate aftermarket wheels? There's been a lot of chatter about the OEM studs being too short for aftermarket wheels with conical seats so I'm wondering if putting these on would fix that issue
@jimsgaragetoys
@jimsgaragetoys 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for the questions. 1. No issues at all. When I looked further into this issue it seemed that people were having issues that weren't properly torquing the lug nuts. 2. I'll be able to answer that soon as I just ordered some aftermarket wheels, stay tuned.

@jimsgaragetoys
@jimsgaragetoys 9 месяцев назад
Good question. At the 3:23 mark I explain how that works. If your wheels have a recessed hole on the back of the wheel hub the studs will be able to extend into those holes and not be an issue if the holes are deep enough for the amount of stud that is extending beyond the spacer. In this case my OEM GR Corolla wheels have this recess and so do my aftermarket winter wheels. Glad that my videos are helping out!

Yes, there are jack points front and back for a floor jack. If using a floor jack at the pinch weld make sure to use a pinch weld cup so you don't damage the pinch weld. The pinch weld is also the jack point when using a scissor jack.

Are you getting more sling of dirt on your doors and wide body? I’m thinking of adding PPF to the wide body piece on the back door to prevent chipping and I don’t have any additional spacers but I am looking to change my wheels out for a nicer summer set and not sure if I’ll use the stock wheels for winter or not 🤔. I use my stock wheels on my 4Runner for winter but those aren’t as nice. I don’t particularly like black wheels but these don’t look too bad. The reason I don’t like them is because IF there is a difference in blackness between the wheel and tire then that bothers me so that needs to be kept on top of with detailing…yes I’m particular like that 😂.

I had PPF put on the rear wheel arches on my car. I'm not seeing a lot of dirt hitting them but better safe than sorry. I also installed mud flaps to help control that any more. I plan on using the OEM tires for winter too. I've never liked all black wheels either so I do understand your view.
