thats whats in my cart aswell😁theres also another video that has been released recently by Nemtec, go give it a watch for sure, they tested many of the ones popping up on the market and quickly disregarded the MST downpipe and said it made no power and to go to OTL for the best daily, bang for your buck, durable downpipe.
MST is sending me one as well and this confirms doing this in the driveway will be borderline insane… send prayers. The sound now has that “rally” rasp to it. Sounds good!
Any rust on the midpipe ? I saw one complaint was the clamp rusting a bit. I’m installing SXTH midpipe and AWE touring on Monday. Was gonna go track edition but I’m glad I didn’t now, being in my mid 30s I want something a little less annoying lol
If you truly want a “test pipe” or a catless down pipe, just gut the one MST sent you. I’m sure you got it free/sponsored. Just knock out the converter material. You still have your factory one if you need to swap back to get rid of an engine light.
I'm running the Island Racewerks catless dp and just waiting to tune when Ecutek releases their remote kit. Only downside right now is always having a check engine light but I expected that.
@omegargb236 It took me a couple tries to get the flanges where the mid pipe meets the rear section to mate up correctly. I feel like the midpipe needed the additional protrusion for the donut gasket and spring bolts to go back in. Other than that, I haven't had any more issues.
@perrythomas4690 I had to deal with the same issue. Does your midpipe hit the middle crossbrace or the transaxle? Everytime I shift or drive hard I hear something contacting underneath.
@omegargb236 no I haven't had that issue. Mine cleared everything with plenty of space once I got it adjusted. I didn't have to, but if you pull the dowel pin on the turbo housing, you can "clock" the dp and play with the spacing.
He literally says In the video that once a local tuner becomes available he's getting it tuned. And there is no company that's going to make a Catless downpipe with today's EPA regulations. And even without a tune every downpipe so far that has just been bolted on to the GR Corolla has gained any where from 15-25 whp
It has nothing to do if you have a state inspection or not. It's an EPA regulation across the entire country. No reputable company is going to make a catless downpipe nowadays without having the government come down on them with a huge fine.
