every interview i've seen with her....... someone always says. "men must be so intimidated by you"........ honestly I'm tired of hearing it.. I can't imagine how many times she's heard that in her life
@@mscoty318 There are a lot of stupid people in the world unfortunately. It's just a silly saying. You could say that 'she was ahead of her game' or 'she was such an innovative artist of her time' for example. Which she was/is...lol
I hung out with her in Paris in the 70's ~ You could spot her 2 blocks away because nobody & I mean nobody on this planet looked anything like this sleek exotic black panther lady. The Parisians went insane for her of course. We went to the same clubs & parties & she spoke zero French ~ we got high and spoke English together and she was a blast! What a wonderful woman. I loved hanging around with her although she was in a different circuit w/models & designers. I knew she would become world famous eventually ~ Her looks were absolutely otherworldly but her personality was also off the chain ~ She was/is so much fun & absolutely fearless & free & loving & gentle & kind ~ Truly loved this lady for her soul ~ So her success was natural because she is a truly great spirit ~ That's why she's still killing it on stage at the age of 70 ~ Grace is timeless :)
Kathie Lee reminds me of when Elisabeth Hasselbeck was still on The View and could barely conceal her contempt and/or fear of guests she didn't like. She'd purse her lips and try to pretend like she enjoyed talking to them, but she was so stiff and uncomfortable. I don't get why some interviewers treat Grace like that. She seems really friendly and open. What's there to be afraid of exactly?
rmcrae05 I think you may have misread both of these women. Perhaps you are not being objective because of your own political agenda. Just sayin’. Objectively speaking, everyone is uncomfortable with grace jones because she is a genuinely odd person. Watch David letterman interview grace. Grace likes to poke people. She is a p.k., after all.
@@quintuplebanned4267 I don't know Kathie Lee's political affiliation nor do I care. And I don't have anything against her. I based my opinion on what I observed. Yes, Grace's public persona is odd and outrageous, but she wasn't acting anything like she did in the Letterman interview here. From the moment Grace sat down Kathie Lee was visibly awkward and uncomfortable. Grace didn't say or do anything to justify it. I don't think Kathie Lee's a bad person for feeling the way she did, but it was strange to me.
Very few people in the 80s were ready for her...she is a walking special effect... with the haute culture and the flattop haircut..JOAN RIVERS LOVED HER...JOHNNY CARSON LOVED HER...she is a UNIQUE BEING...
I'd love to see a show where Alek Wek and Grace Jones are together! They look a little bit like one another...Both women are beautiful in their own rights!
Grace is beyond gorgeous. Her beauty is unreal. I hate that people always ask “are men are usually intimidated by you”? Who cares how men feel. They don’t run the world. She found love in her lifetime and she was too unique for this time period anyway.
Grace: We Chopped his head off and used the body. Kathy Lee: Did he mind? LMAO!!! It was subtle, and the timing was odd, but I caught it, Kathy Lee. I caught it.
Dave Thomas They BOTH were uncomfortable. At one point, I think when they were talking about her cutting her hair she motioned outwards and Regis looked like he flinched...like she was going to hit him. Watching this sorta irritated me. They were both talking to her like she was a total freak. And KL kept referencing "the father of her child" like she was calling her a woman of loose morals. I didn't like this interview at all...but I love Grace.
the1blkman I didn't think about the "father of your child" reference, but it does seem to be a passive way of KL saying that her son isn't legitimate. She should have asked what his name was in the interview, and then referred to him that way from then on. KL has always seemed to have a superiority complex to me, while Grace is an good, accepting person who embraces life and explores it the way an artist does.
fanofdesign what the hell do you know? You are making this judgment based on your own baggage not hers. She is one of the most genuine people who has ever been on television. You are bringing your own baggage to Kathie Lee because you resent the type of person you are imagining her to be due to your own judgments, and stereotypes. Separate the two. You dimwit.
@@fool4singing I don't like Kathy or Regis. They irked my soul. They are sarcastic, condescending, and uninteresting. When they left the airwaves, I celebrated. Regis putting Grace in a headlock was blatantly disrespectful. Would he have done that to Cher, Madonna, or Cyndi Lauper? No.
Madeline D'Amato Regis was so awkward and he would say some of the most tone deaf things to people. I wanted to smack him, but usually K.L. would take care of it for me.
It's not just you. I know exactly what you're talking about. It's so hard to put my finger on it.. It's almost a smug/intimidated/scared/distant/ I see that you are strikingly pretty/beautiful/ "exotic", but I'm still better than you because I am a white woman look LOL!!!
Grace didn't care for Gaga much after she stole one of Graces designs for a show Sorry Gaga fans but Grace diditt first wit more pinache and of course...Grace.😉
What album is she talking about? “Inside Story?” There never was an album called “No Compromise.” I agree these two hosts are utterly clueless as to how to value her and engage her. She was very gracious to them. They did their best but they are milquetoast. Grace is anything BUT milquetoast.
